I know there are already lots of bad reviews but they're all true. Gazelle advertises one price, then will lowball you once you've already shipped your phone in, hoping that you're too lazy to wait 2 weeks for them to ship it back. It's a scam, and should not be allowed to stay in business.

For reference, I sent in two devices that had been in cases their entire life, no cracks, a few light scratches on the screen but not visible unless you looked for it. They have four grades: Damaged/Broken, Scratched/Scuffed, Lightly Used, and Flawless. They tried to offer me less than the price advertised for the Damaged/Broken grade. The example photo for this tier shows a phone with cracks all over the screen, deep scratches all over the phone, bent, and chipped. The phones I sent in were honestly closest to their Flawless tier example photo, yet they tried to grade both as Damaged/Broken to justify lowballing me. I selected Lightly Used for the first phone, and Scratched/Scuffed for the other, after all they claimed they would increase the offer if it was in better condition than stated. They dropped the offer $150 each from the advertised price. I didn't really care about the money at that point, but I declined on principle because I don't want to support a scam site. I'd actually get a higher price at those vending machines at the mall lol.

I doubt any of the other "mail your phone in" companies are any better, I would steer clear of them and do the transactions in-person or through swappa. Thankfully this is the last time I'll have to deal with this process since I went with Apple's upgrade program this time around.

As the title says, I'm noticing apps like Twitter are giving me ads based on information that only happened in the Messages app. I had a completely random discussion with a contact about caulking and then about an hour later I got an ad for caulk on Twitter. There's no way that's coincidence, it's such a specific topic. Is there anyway to shield the contents of my messages app from being shared with advertisers?

I have an iPhone 12 Pro (iOS 17.1.1) and Apple Watch 3 (watchOS 8.8.1). I have been having this problem since late September, and it has been concurrent over multiple updates on my watch and phone.

I am using the default mail app with a Comcast and a zoho email account. I have it set to fetch every 15 minutes. I am still receiving emails and they are in the mail app, but I am no longer receiving notifications just when I’m wearing my watch.

If I am not wearing my watch I get the normal notification mail preview on my phone Lock Screen and everything acts as normal. The second I put my watch on I don’t get notifications on my watch or phone Lock Screen.

I have tried both “mirror my iPhone” and “custom” under the Mail settings on my watch. I also have all the notification options turned on on my phone, and also have alerts, sounds, and badges turned on for that specific account.

I have unpaired my watch and set it up as a new one. I have also tried restarting my phone and watch after changing settings in hope it will fix it. The only things I haven’t tried is restoring my phone from a back up, and deleting the mail accounts and setting them up as new ones.

This seems more like an issue with watch settings, but I don’t know what else to try. Has anyone else experienced this issue, or have any suggestions?

Hi all. New to air tags, have only had them since summer.

My husband and I each have air tags on our keys. Today he went into a store for 5 mins, and I stayed in the car. He left his keys behind.

I just noticed now, an hour later, that I have a notification of an air tag tracking me. The mapping is the same as where he went into the store. When I choose “play a sound”, from inside our house, my phone says it can’t detect the AirTag. When I choose learn about this AirTag and bring his AirTag close to my phone, nothing happens.

We are a family in our Apple accounts. Would family members receive this type of notification? If so, why can’t my phone detect his AirTags now despite being 10 feet away, and then directly in my hand?

Just ordered a refurbished SE 2020 from Swappie today for €204. Excellent condition, 64gb, red. My plan is to use this for a few years and then get the SE 4 brand new whenever it comes out. What do you guys think?

Just got an apple watch 7 41mm today. Overall love it. But ive heard that the battery is meant to last 18 hours?

It was 50% when i opened it, and it got to 20% in 6 hours (mind me that it was hardly used. On my wrist and glanced at with always on display.

Honestly that didnt really bug me, however i slapped it on charge until 80% and just saw it go from 70% to 66% in the matter of minutes.

BH is 97%, so it it just the case if watchOS 10 bugs? Will it get better?

I recently bought the iPhone SE 2 and I bought battery case alongside it. However, when I try to charge my phone with the case, the phone itself does not charge, only the case. Has anyone else had issues like with battery cases, and if so, how did you resolve them? This is the case I got. The instruction that it comes with even says that the phone will charge first when a lightning cable is connected. The phone only charges when I try to charge without the case on:

TLDR: Phone stolen (pickpocket), put in lost mode. Now it's in China. I'm getting aggressive phishing texts to factory reset it (presumably so they can set it up new) with threats that they have all my info from the phone. I'm wondering what the best option is to protect my data without letting someone use the phone ever again. Should I press the button that says "erase this iPhone" or will that allow someone access to use the phone?

Additional details: Stolen in Miami at a music festival, took over a month to show up in Miami. Already have a new phone. Stolen phone is still on my Apple ID, but in lost mode. I have spoken with Apple and not received a articulate specific course of action. The phishing messages are begging me to remove it from my devices in find my and they are threatening that they have all my information (not to mention threatening self harm, and their daughter, which I presume is part of a well run scam). I presume the absolute safest is to erase and remove from my account, but that will allow the stolen phone to be used again, which doesn't sit well with me. I'm hoping someone here can help me ensure I'm doing the most to protect my data without letting someone set my phone as new or use it in any way. Thanks!

iPhone 15 base models have gotten the last years A16 chipset which was used in all the iPhone in 14 lineup. However this year the pro iPhones received the new A17 pro chipset which begs the question of where the base model A17 chipsets will be used.

Those of you with an iPhone 15, how many battery cycles have you gone through and when did you get your phone?

I have a iPhone 14 pro and accidentally cracked it it's not that big or deep of a crack but just enough to not see in darker colours but you can see it on white light so does anyone know if I buy a screen protector if it can hide the cracks a bit?

Hi

My iPhone was just stolen and I only found out when I got home. I then marked it as lost in Find My and subsequently erased the phone remotely. I have a passcode on my iPhone but I'm not sure if I activated the lock in time in Find My. I tried calling my phone but it goes to voice mail. But in Findmy The time which I assume is the phone was last seen keeps updated every now and then ( 19 mins ago...etc)

I know the phone is a goner and I will need to get a new phone but does anyone know if I activated the lock in FindMy in time? Am worried about any information or content that is stored on my iPhone storage and not on iCloud. Identity theft would be a nightmare

Anything else I need to do? Help appreciated. Thank you

I have a dilemma that I can't decide on. A few days ago I purchased an Apple Watch Series 7 refurb from Walmart for $209 as an early black Friday deal. It arrived with a little bit of scratches/wear but overall not too bad. I like it so far; however, the battery capacity is 84%. So- with black Friday coming up in 2 days, I'm between either keeping it or buying a new SE 2 for the same price. I plan to use the watch for as long as I can time-wise before it dies on me so that's what's making me re-think getting a new SE 2 w/ a fresh battery.

I’ve had my apple watch for about 3.5 years. I just noticed the side button under the crown no longer works. There is zero movement when I try to press it. Any thoughts on how to unstick it? I’m not sure I’ve ever used it, but now it’s bothering me.

Does anyone else feel that the haptic notification for Apple's new State of Mind tracker is far too severe for the purpose it is trying to serve? Jolting me out of whatever pleasant state I was in to ask me a set of questions seems counter to whatever mindfulness goal they claim to have.

The whole experience lowers my desire to even utilize a feature I was otherwise excited to use. A reduction in the intensity would likely produce better results? Thoughts?

I don’t know if I’d even call it a crack, it’s a tiny speck on the edge of the circle but it’s still super annoying. Doesn’t affect any images but the lenses aren’t as tough as I thought. If you don’t have a case that protects the camera well, I’d recommend one! I thought my case was strong enough but I guess not
