So when I first tried adaptive mode awhile ago I thought this is the dumbest thing ever. I can't tell the difference between this and transparency mode.

Well I have been finishing my basement so often times I use airpods while working. I have custom tips that basically are earplugs so I use that when using the saw and the added benefit I get to listen to music.

Well I decided to give adaptive mode a chance again and I finally get it. It blocks all the white noise, and will dynamically lower and "loud" noise.

So you hitting a hammer? Nothing happens, the noise is filtered through unaffected. You running the table saw? You'll almost immediately hear it lower in overall noise while keeping all other sound available to you.

I decided to go for a run with them in adaptive mode. It's genius, all traffic white noise is lowered but you can still hear individual cars, foot steps, etc to stay alert.

I've completely removed transparency mode from my toggle and only use full NC and adaptive as you can hear people talking perfectly with it on.

I have no idea how it knows exactly what to pass through and what to block but it's easily become my new favourite setting.

TLDR: It's transparency mode that blocks white noise and extremely loud noises while allowing contextual sounds through.

My budget is around $1300. I've been thinking on a Macbook Pro M1 With 16Gb of RAM from the Apple Reburbished store, or a M2 Macbook Air with 15GB of RAM, but I'm afraid that when I'm rendering it overheats since it's a fanless laptop

I may be one of the few who upgraded from an SE to a 9 because of the onboard Siri. I commute 2.5 hours a day. During that time, I try to get some of my business done. I think that the Siri experience is a lot better now. The responses are definitely faster, and they rarely get dropped. I feel like the responses are more consistently on point. I also believe that the speech-to-text is more accurate.

Siri’s still not perfect by any means, and I’m still amazed and disappointed that Apple has neglected her for so long. (Among so many smaller issues, misspelling a name when you’re responding through a Contact where the name is spelled out correctly. I could go on and on…)

What do you all think? Is Siri a part of your life, and has the 9 advanced her relevance to you?

I got my iphone 14 plus around december last year, today my battery capacity is at 88%. It’s literally less than a year since i got my phone. Is this normal? Do yall face this issue too? I started keeping track of my battery capacity this month to see if there is any change. At november 12, i decided to check my capacity and i realised my battery capacity has fallen from 90% to 89%, i didnt keep track of how many days it took to drop from 90% to 89%, but it was that one fine day that i decided to open my setting and witness the drop coincidentally.

After keeping track everyday, today 23nov it dropped to 88%. In just 11 days guys wth. I am so confused, do yall face the same issue ? 😢😢

I’ve had my watch for a while now and am getting tired of having to enable the power saving mode every three days. Is there a way that I could just leave it on all the time? Without power saving mode my watch dies in a couple hours so it’s pretty frustrating when I realize it’s already dead because I forgot it was the third day. Thanks!

I had at least 4 to 5 cases sometimes more. Now, I that I have 15 pro max I told myself that I am not going to buy new cases but here comes Black Friday sale and I have 3 cases added to my cart ready for checkout! Hey everyone! I recently got my hands on the latest AppleTV 4K (2022) and I've connected it to my TCL 4K HDR Google TV. I've linked my TCL soundbar with Dolby Atmos sound to my TV using the HDMI ARC port and connected the AppleTV to the regular HDMI port with an HDMI 2.1 cable. During the setup, the AppleTV remote automatically detected and controlled all devices, which was fantastic.

However, there seems to be a minor issue. Whenever I power off all the devices with the AppleTV remote and then power them back on after a while, my Google TV home screen appears first on my TV. It takes a few seconds for the AppleTV home screen to load up. Is this normal behavior? Although it's not a dealbreaker, it kind of annoys me to see the Google TV home screen first and then wait for a few seconds before the AppleTV home screen appears. I'm wondering if the issue could be related to the HDMI cable I'm using. TIA.

Got my watch about a week ago and still getting acquainted with it… Last night, I woke up at like 2:45am and wanted to see the actual time. The screen was so dim I couldn’t read anything! I checked this morning and I he brightness is cranked all the way up. Is there anyway to disable this auto dimming? I was think I’d rather Have the display turn off until I twist my wrist and have it light up at a useful level than be on 24x7 but so dim it’s unreadable….

I’ve started to use my phone caseless all the time - I started at home but I’ve developed a sensory thing where I just can’t stand the case. So far I haven’t had any issues - although I’m definitely much more careful with my device than I was before. Anyone else with base model iPhones caseless here?

Hello. I recently got an iphone 15 pro max after using Android phones for a while. I have a charging block from my Android phones and have been wondering whether they're good to use with the Iphone or if I should get an apple charging block? Thank you.

The iPlayer app is still absolute dogshit on Apple TV. No UHD programs, no season selection, no subtitle support (which is insane for a supposed organisation that champions inclusivisty), still no redesigned app which launched on all other platforms I can think of over two years ago...

When I've got in touch with the BBC to complain about the lack of subtitling in the past they have just said "it's too difficult" and panned me off, even though literally every other app including 'BritBox' which is partially owned by the BBC has them.

So I'm just wondering (especially with Doctor Who back on Saturday, and next year) if there is anything more I/we can be doing to get this sorted?

The screen on my new watches, series 8, sometimes turns green for a short time, it’s like a quick flash of green over the whole screen and then it’s gone. I’ve only noticed it doing this when I am getting them off of my wrist and it doesn’t always happen.

They haven’t sustained any damage. And it’s not the first piece that’s doing it. The ones I have now are actually a replacement from the store, they have agreed that the watch was not working properly. But since this is the second time, I’ve wondered if anyone has something similar happening to them? I don’t know if I should just go to the store again or if I should just ignore it?

I really enjoy my Apple Watch, but this setting, together with the fact that I prefer my devices to be in "silent mode" 24/7, is just driving me nuts.

I'm currently using a 2nd non-sleep alarm as a workaround / fail-safe, but having to switch off two alarms every morning is just a bit annoying. I don't want to disable alarm syncing, because it's convenient and I don't want to rely on automations, because I want my "mission-critical" functions to include as little moving parts as possible. I don't think there are any other, reasonable workarounds?

Are there any informations / rumours on Apple adding an option to customise this behaviour in the future WatchOS releases? It feels like such a no-brainer and given the number of people complaining at it I'm baffled it's still not there.

I was looking to find a new M2 MBA 15in (16/256) when I found this on Amazon. What was surprising was that with AppleCare+ (3 years) added it was only $1438.99 compared to $1499 without it. It states also that it is shipped and sold through Amazon.com. Is there any reason for me to worry or does this seem legit?

I was working on a project in Final Cut Pro, trying to export a project and the app froze for a good few min before I decided to force quit through Activity Monitor. It force quit fine, and I gave it a couple minutes. Went into Finder to browse some files in the meantime. I restarted FCP and tried exporting the file and it froze yet again, this time my screen was unresponsive completely and I couldn't even access Activity Monitor to force quit anything. I held down the power button to force shut down. When I restarted, I noticed every single local file in my Documents is missing as well as Desktop. The only files that remain are ones in my Downloads. For whatever reason the Documents folder has been replaced with subfolders that were in my iCloud Drive before, but there is nothing in them. I never messed with or changed any iCloud settings so I am at a loss. I've tried restarting, booting in safe mode, making sure I'm logged onto the right user, running some commands in Terminal as per Google search. Nothing.

What happened and is there any way I can recover my stuff in Documents? For what it's worth I did not think to back up anything (don't have Time Machine) and finally this happened.

I've Googled all around and am unable to find any assistance on this issue.

This image is from the package of an Apple Watch Series 7 Starlight. I’m looking to make the same watch face for my Ultra but can’t find the color combination. I’m pretty sure it’s a California watch face but I can’t find any color combo that gives me the white background with cream accents.

Apple valued my traded in iPhone 12 Pro Max at £0, thanks to 1 crack on the lens. The merits of this aside, I obviously had no intention to accept this offer.

While scrolling the page my finger hit the Accept button, and that was that. No confirmation nothing.

I have spent ages talking to Apple support, who claim they can’t do anything and it’s “in the legal terms that once you accept, you accept”. While they’re legally in the right, I’m out a fair amount of money.

Has anyone faced this before? Is there ANY way to cancel the trade in at this point, or anyone to contact?

Frankly, the support experience has really soured me on Apple.

Would I notice a huge difference going from xs max to 15 pro max?

Im from Hungary. Im using the Reminders App's Shopping list but with hungarian product names for oil, sugar, etc. Sometimes it puts the stuff in the right section but mostly not. So i have to re-section them...

Is there any way to teach the Shopping List?

Has Siri’s response time improved since the Apple Watch Series 4? My 4 is still functioning well and my biggest complaint is how long Siri takes on a request to Homekit. I’m unsure whether this is a hardware bottleneck or something else (as I’ve heard that some Siri commands are processed locally). Have you noticed improvement after upgrading?

This and a compass would be my only reasons to upgrade.
