my watch used to unlock itself automatically when I used to wear it in morning and hence used to send notification for workout etc (a very convenient feature to record workouts)

after upgrading to watch OS 10.1.1 , its not not auto unlocking in morning , do I need to change any setting?

I bought an apple watch series 9 and was wondering how the brightness works. I know it can get “up to twice as bright 2000nits compared to series 8, which is what my sister has.

But I put it at max brightness through settings on both iphone and watch and compared side by side with hers and they seemed just equally bright in a bedroom. Does the brighter screen only activate in direct bright sunlight to preserve battery? That is my theory as why they are pretty much identical in brightness at max settings indoors.

Any thoughts or feedback is appreciated. (If it’s true I wish they would add an update for like a fourth brightness level to get the max brightness)

This is not a complaint btw, because I love this dang thing :)

Last night I broke my iPhone 12 and none of the cell services work (Bluetooth, wifi, etc). I have an iPhone 8 on hand to use in the meantime, however, I can't load the backup onto it as it does not have iOS 17.

Is there anything I can do to transfer data between the two phones? Particularly WhatsApp conversations, and contacts that could not be transferred as I was out of iCloud storage.

Windows and Linux automatically filter out sounds outputted from the desktop when recording mic audio but macOS doesn't, and there isn't an obvious answer to this.

Ever since the new iOS 17 update apple photos app now has contact photos when you look at a picture. I was wondering if there was a way to disable that and have the key photo show up instead, just like before.

Just got a new TV that we’re keeping in the living room. There is only a power outlet and an Ethernet port next to it. Our home theater receiver is in another room connected physically to the surround sound speakers in the living room with a Sonos Connect S15. We also have another Sonos Amp connected to our speakers in the kitchen.

Audio connections over Bluetooth are quite laggy from both the TV to receiver and AppleTV to receiver. Any way to fix this issue without any wires in the living room?

I was about to upgrade from iPhone12 to iPhone15 Pro Max because of charging port issues. The lighting connector would wobble so my phone would stop charging or keep disconnecting from carplay. First world issues. Before buying I decided to see a "Genius", who just cleaned the port and now everything works perfectly. However, I still want to fucking buy the iPhone15 Pro Max just to have a new toy, which I know will just give me a dopamine hit for a few days at most. I've already purchased online twice and cancelled right before entering the store. Do I need help? What kind?

Hey all. I recently noticed I can’t auto-download apps from my iPhone to my Apple Watch when my iPhone is on cellular or auto-update apps on Apple Watch when my iPhone is on cellular. They both work on Wi-Fi. Is this a bug or an intended feature?

Basically the title. What do you guys consider having the Apple Ecosystem to mean? 3+ different Apple products? All Apple products? The essentials? Just wondering what you guys think since I’ve seen some different responses among different people.

I currently have S8 Cellular version and subscribed to Apple Music. I can stream music on the Apple Watch by asking Siri to play something without my phone connected to it, but for some reason, i do not see my playlists i have created on my apple music account. I know there is an option to sync playlist, but that downloads the music to my phone. Any way to have your library show up on the watch but not having to download all the tracks to the watch?

Alright it’s late, going to bed, really just too lazy to look it up and I’m certain I’ll get the proper answer quickly. Have an iPhone 15 Pro Max. Has a physical sim already that I just swapped from my previous iPhone. Can I get another physical, not eSIM, slap it in and get a second number through a different carrier?

Does it support dual physical SIM cards? Or just a single physical and a single eSIM?

I've decided it's time to purchase my first Apple computer. I'm currently using a 2016 Lenovo Carbon X-1 Yoga 2-in-1. It has a 14-inch 2K display, i5 CPU, 8 GB RAM, and 256 GB SSD. It's not upgradeable to Windows 11 and the SSD is almost full. Obviously it's getting long in the tooth. But it still performs adequately for most of my needs. I mostly use my laptop for email, document drafting, websurfing, and accessing cloud services. I travel but I'm not a road warrior so weight and size aren't huge factors. One reason for wanting to upgrade is that it's getting harder to read the 14 inch 2K screen without reading glasses. (I'm in my 60s.)

Given my needs and the fact my outdated Windows laptop still meets them, I'm sure any MacBook, including the 8GB base models, will drastically outperform my current laptop. Nevertheless, I'm going to overdo it per my usual. The candidates are (1) a 15 inch M2 Air with 16GB unified memory and 512 GB storage, or (2) a 14 inch M3 Pro with the same unified memory and storage. The difference in price is $100. The extra ports, superior display, and marginally more powerful processor on the Pro are attractive but will I wish the display was bigger than 14 inches? I can read the lower quality 14 inch Lenovo screen now with glasses. Will the much higher quality Apple screen make up for not going up an inch in size?

I'm not totally adverse to a base 16 inch MacBook Pro. However, my first 2 choices are probably already overkill for what I "need." I'm not convinced it's worth another $700 to $800 for the 16 inch display even if it comes with an M3 Pro chip (that I don't need) and even more unified memory. However, I could be convinced if the larger screen means greater readability and ease of use. What's your advice?

I love using the always on display on my Ultra.

At night, I'll turn on Theatre Mode and then turn it off when I wake up.

Was just wondering if there was a setting I wasn't aware of where you could schedule the screen to turn off, say, every night at 11pm and it will automatically turn back on at 6am or 7pm.

Seems like something Apple would have built into WatchOS.

My Samsung remote stopped controlling my Apple TV today and for some reason my Apple TV remote is not working either? Anyone having issues today?

When I get a notification(I use silent mode), I hear a wierd little rattling sound near the bottom of the phone, around the charging port and speakers, why is it doing this? The thing just occurred i think because I don’t recall hearing this on other times.

I also just got the phone probably a week or two ago.

Have anyone here experienced Apple Watch SE not charging? It’s just 2 months old and there are only very minor scratches on the charger. Not sure why it’s not charging. I’ve already tried hard reset but it’s already in 0 charge so nothing happened. Any advice?

This is my first day with the Ultra 2 but I may end up going back to my Series 4 if I can't find a solution or if there isn't an update soon to remedy.

The automatic ambient light sensor function is absolutely infuriating that it cannot be disabled. I like the general idea of it and the ability to toggle it as an option would be fine, but not as a permanent feature. In my use case this is a bug, not a feature.

When I'm in a dark room working on my computer or watching tv where there is a bright screen in front of me but the overall room is pretty dark, It is extremely difficult to see the watch display. When I set the screen to full brightness, I want the watch to perform at full brightness no matter what the scenario.

Does anyone have any insight as to whether this has been acknowledged by Apple at all? I really like the Ultra 2 in all other aspects, but having to bring it 6 inches from my face to make out what's on the display renders it almost useless to me.

(Or is there a fix that I’m unaware of? I did try researching and came up with nothing.)
