So I updated my AWS8 from OS 9.6 to OS 10.1.1 believing the battery drain issue was resolved and I would be safe... turns out I am now experiencing drainage where I can barely get 6 hours before hitting 15%. Previously I could go the full day using it for music, workouts and having always on display and background refresh on; at the end of the day I'd still have over 40%. I know it takes a couple days for the watch to optimize the update, so I did give it 4 days before I started to panic. I've tried force reboots and unpairing to no avail. I did submit an issue to apple, since I know without them being bombarded they won't really resolve the issue.

During my unpairing/pairing I was given an option to restore from an old backup from a couple months ago, I believe it was OS 9.6 and it was from the same watch if not it was may AWSE1. My question now is, what happens if I unpair and restore from that backup as a fix? What will I be losing?

I'm thinking about buying myself a MacBook. But I'm struggling to decide between an Air M2 13" and a Pro M1 14". I work in software development and I do a lot of photo and video editing. Do you have advice or recommendations? I'd love to hear from your personal experience. Thanks a lot in advance.

Was looking at the 3 device RCA below. I like the Siri Remote but need input function and don’t want to give up my mute button to remap it for that. Can live without Siri (can use my iPhone) so seeing what the best option is out there, and if anyone personally uses this RCA remote.

I’m walking on a treadmill 3 to 4 hours a day at a 5 degree or percent incline (not sure what the 5 represents on the machine). That incline though is not getting tracked when using the indoor walk setting. Is something wrong or is this a known capability problem?

Is it not possible to add a complication that shows the time in another time zone? I could have swore I could do that before…

I just got the M2 air and it’s only got two ports which makes it real when editing because I can’t even transfer between sd reader and drive if I need to charge.. any advice or links on the best tool/gadget would be appreciated.

I do 4K video editing at work but have a Mac Studio M2 Ultra for those projects. Currently leaning toward the Air but would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Yo, I set my alarms every night and a few times recently I’ve forgotten to set them which is stupid I know. So I have now set them to go off every weekday which is good but I have a slight issue. I get up at 6:45am and have an alarm every 5 mins until 7am after that just incase I sleep in. I end up turning these off every morning so I don’t wake everyone up when I’m moving around getting ready for work.

If I turn these off, I have to remember to turn them back on. Is there any way I can like temporarily disable them so I don’t turn them off but they won’t come on while I’m wandering around the house trying not to wake up the family? If not any alternative ideas or do I just have to live with it? Thanks!!

My iphone 13 is choppy and slow when I start charging it and as soon as I disconnect the charger the phone gets back to normal, the charger is genuine and works on other apple devices normally so what's the deal here?
Some times when I move the cable charging stops for a bit and sometimes when its charging flat on the table without anything moving the phone or the cable it stops charging. It's driving me mad.
So maybe the charging port could be the culprit? Or the charging IC on the motherboard? I have no clue and I'm slowly losing my mind.
Has anyone experienced this problem before?

Thinking about buying an Apple Watch, I had question regarding the bands if anyone could help. 1 does the “velcro” or what use to strap after gets worn down fast? 2 is braided loop better? 3 any bands you’d recommend

My 12 Pro had the back shatter from a drop am I’m hoping to avoid that again.

Debating wether tomorrow to upgrade my S7 with 91% health to an S9. Reason tomorrow being that there’s a £40 gift card, and buying AirPod for Xmas, so it’s £40 off as well in a roundabout way.

Also I’d trade on the S7, and get £140 of checks ok (I have a scratch on face which annoys me, and no idea how got)

So anyone upgraded S7 to S9 and felt it was worth to? There doesn’t seem to be much updated tbh, I’m just thinking next year maybe a bigger update, but maybe a price increase, band incompatibility.

I always wear my watch, wouldn’t say a power user if it, but handy for numerous basic stuff that I use day to day.

So effectively it’s a £260 cost to upgrade. Not doing now the trade in goes down, and I know that trading elsewhere online they’ll downgrade because of the scratch, hoping Apple dismiss it. If they didn’t I’d just keep

Siri is so awful in Swedish, the voice sounds so like it’s always moaning for fucks sakes, sometimes it plays random music when asked for specific songs. I like iPhone but Siri is making me wanna dig holes in my ear canals.

And she can’t even answer basic shit like, “are my lights on or off” or “should I bring an umbrella today?”

Google assistant is not 100% but google speaks more like a “person” and talks clearly.

Why is Siri so shit? I really hope iOS 18 fixes Siri especially the moaning voice in Swedish setting. Siri needs an overhaul.

What the title says. I don’t know if the Apple TV is sincerely better than the Ultra, but since I’ve built up what I’d consider a fairly standard home theater system (4K tv with HDR, soundbar w/ Dolby Atmos…no surround system or anything overly fancy) the Roku has caused some annoyances. Right now the hassle is the Paramount Roku app keeps blanking the screen when watching Dolby Vision content, sometimes requiring a tv power cycle.

Anyways, I know I’m asking the Apple crowd here but I’m considering the switch but don’t know if it’s a difference of preferences or if Apple TV (4K) is genuinely superior?

For example, I have an e-bike that I want to take for a long ride to see how many miles I can go before the battery dies. But since this e-bike has a throttle and is not actually exercise, I don't want to log a cycling workout. I just want to know how far I traveled.

And if there's nothing like that on the watch, what about the iPhone?

Hello! I've been a developer for a bit, and am wanting to dip my feet into game development in my freetime. I heard UE5 is a beefy application, and while I have a really nice PC, i absolutely fucking hate dealing with windows, and not having a Mac trackpad. So I'm wondering if anyone has good/bad experiences running it on Mac. I'm not looking to make the next GTA 8, but I will definitely want to make small 3d and 2d games maybe containing semi realistic graphics in the future.
