Does anyone have any advice? I am 3+ hours away from the closest Apple Store and would like to avoid sending it in and being without a phone for 5+ days if possible. Pretty disappointing as I mainly bought this phone for the camera

I am on a very tight budget and im either gonna buy the xr, or the 2020 se. I am not planning on keeping it for longer than a year because I'll buy a better one once i get the money. Should i get the se or xr?

I have an Apple TV 4K 1st generation and I updated to TV OS 17 in late September/Early October - either way I am on 17.1 now.

It has got to be the worst update I’ve seen. Every app stalls at random times and I need to restart the whole unit just to access an app cleanly. Slow loading, time outs, strange errors about Netflix, prime, YouTube, max, etc stating “xyz app is not available, please try again later.” I’ve also gotten “there is not enough space to download this app” multiple times when I know there is more than enough room - I have sub 15 apps loaded which amounts to ~3 GB at most out of a supposed 32 GB.

Anyway, long story long - anyone else experience these issues only after updating to TV OS 17? I never had this issue when in TV OS 16 and down.

Sincerely,

A potential Roku buyer…..

I've ever owned a iPhone in my entire life, and I feel like I should change up a bit. Try something new. Should I get the 14pm? Is it actually worth it?

I've recently cracker my phone a bit, and soon after these pixels started appearing. It started off small then started to spread. I dont know much about tech so i was wondering what it was and also if it is fixable.

Hey guys! Im a 22 year old girl in college and I want to get an Apple Watch tomorrow at the Apple Store on Black Friday. I don’t know much about Apple Watches but I have diabetes and some other health problems I heard it’s very easy to check those things through the app on your Apple Watches. The only problem is that there are so many Apple Watches to choose from, I just want a regular normal $100-$300 watch if anyone can help me out! Thank you!

Hey guys,

I found some decent deals here for black Friday (200 Euro off on both) over here and I am thinking about upgrading from my MacBook Pro M1 16GB 512 GB Storage. So I could buy an Air with M2, 10-GPU, 16GB & 512 GB Size or the base M3 Pro one for 600 Euro more. I am using the MacBook for office tasks and programming (iOS and Android) and of course the usual stuff like streaming etc etc.

Would you use the extra 600 bucks to get the M3 Pro or is that too much for my needs?

Thanks a lot! Jan

My mom got me an iPhone 15 about a month ago and I wasn’t able to get it until now since I’m back for Thanksgiving. So I set it up and transferred everything, but I’m having trouble setting up the eSIM (it says my iPhone 11 doesn’t support it) so I was just gonna figure it out when I have more time and come back for Christmas. So my question is can I factory reset my new 15 and just set it up again when I’m ready later? Or will resetting it now mess up anything?

Greetings macbook users, lifetime windows user here interested in making a switch.

With no prior macbook experience, I find it very overwhelming trying to understand which model should be the optimal choice for me.

What I need is instant browser responses on demanding websites while keeping 40+ tabs open, ability to power at least 2 external monitors while being as compact and light as possible. High battery life would also be nice.

No video editing or 3D rendering, nothing GPU heavy maybe just the recerational League game.

Not trying to overspend on features I dont need, but want it to be good for couple of years too. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello all, new to Apple Watches and I have searched high and low but can’t find a solid answer to this. When navigating an app and I want to exit the app, pressing the crown in sometimes takes me back to the Home Screen with the apps and sometimes takes me all the way to the face and then I have to press again to go to the apps to open a different one. It seems like it may be based on the time in an app? Like maybe under 8-10 seconds pressing the crown takes you back to Home Screen and over that pressing the crown takes you all the way to the face. Is this just a characteristic of Apple Watches or is there a setting somewhere I can’t find to set it to always go to the apps instead of the face? Web searches yield vague results with things like “pressing crown returns to Home Screen or face”

Anyone try one of these bands? They look like a knock of version of the nomad goods sport band, I like the color that nomad doesnt have, but haven’t seen any reviews.

The newest update changed the alert sounds on my third-party apps now they’re a different ringtone and so soft I can’t hear them even if I turn the volume all the way up. Is there anyway to change the tone? Looked in the app and have not found any way to change it within the app itself. I tried every phone setting to change it, and it will not change, is that an iPhone thing? I’m old help lmao

I want to temporarily switch to an Android to try out RCS messaging, but I heard if you transfer your sim card from iPhone to Android, iMessage will get messed up. For example, if an iPhone user sends me a message, and my phone number is in an Android, I might not get the message because it was sent as an iMessage.

I don't want to miss messages, so how do I avoid this problem?

I went to Knoxville, TN for Thanksgiving today and brought my 4s with me and it's getting 2 bars average. Is it supposed to still get service? Before when I made calls it would fail, but now it calls American Roaming. It's a Verizon phone with an old SIM card, but it still gets a few bars when I take the SIM card out. Anyone know why? Verizon's 3g networks shut down a while ago.

so as far as i know there’s no reason that a base 15 is better than a 14 pro/ pro max right? like the 15 has worse refresh rate and none of the pro features like pro res. the main question is this - what are some features that either phone has that the other doesn’t and which one is overall better?

If you are getting a pop-up "Accessory may not be supported" and your iPhone refuses to charge, this article may help solve your issue.

Recently my iPhone stopped charging. It was almost immediately clear it refused to charge because it thought my charger was an unsupported accessory. I thought the cause would be my charger because it's damaged although it still worked up until then. I took another cable expecting it to work but I got the same pop-up. No charger would work and the phone would only charge a bit after a full shutdown, but after entering my passcode so the phone is not in the fully encrypted state it enabled this charging accessory handshake feature which I assume is checking if the plugged in device works as intended and is MFI.

After realising this occurred to all chargers and charging bricks, both 5W and 10W I expected it to be a damaged charging cirquit, possibly a burnt resistor or capacitor? I was thinking about replacing the port.

I tried a Lightning to USB 3.0 adapter (the ones that come with both USB OTG and Lightning in) so the iPhone detects the USB hub as an accessory and uses the power forwarded through the Lightning port on the adapter. I thought this might work since then normally only the power from the charging port on the adapter is forwarded. This also gave the same error making me even more suspicious the problem was with a component on my charging cirquit. I did know the adapter also recognised if you plugged an accessory into it, for example if you plug Lightning earphones into it it also gives the "accessory not supported" pup-up, but I was pretty sure it wasn't the charger. It's of course always a good idea to check if your charger works on another device which it did in my case so I knew it must be the phone.

I was wondering, if there was a damaged component, why would the phone be temporarily recognised by a computer and also be capable of charging? If all the functionality is present it must be at least capable of working, even if it doesn't want to. The problem must either be in the MFI detection cirquit or a bug in the software. I started searching on Google and the only info on there was "Clean your port", "Stick a toothpick or toothbrush in the port and take the lint out", "Force restart your iPhone (which works as long as you don't enter your code)" and "Update your iPhone" which are all very general solutions that don't work for actual bugs in the software and are solutions for user error. I was pretty confident none of these solutions was going to help at all because in my case I wasn't the one doing something wrong, I was using multiple genuine Apple cables and power adapters, my port was prefectly clean and made a good connection, my software is up to date and I'm not using any new accessories that may not be supported by my iOS version so the conclusion is that Google is useless in this case and leads people to believe their phone is broken and needs to be repaired or replaced.

This suspicion of a software bug made me realise, perhaps I can plug a USB device into the USB accessory so the port goes into the USB OTG like mode where the phone serves as the host device. I tried it and the USB device powered on but was not sending data to the phone as the phone didn't respond to input from the device and the phone showed no sign of connection. I then proceeded to add the power cable to the adapter so both a USB device and power are plugged in and the phone charged just fine. Then I unplugged the USB device and plugged it back in and it got recognised by the phone. This seemed to work so I tried my charger again and it was completely fine?

I don't know what this did but the problem appears to be completely gone. The reason the problem occurred is very likely my damaged cable but it could perhaps be caused by oxidised contact pads on the Lightning connector (the 5V power line tends to turn black from oxidisation, but you can scrape it off if it causes a wiggly connection). I did a full reboot and so far it hasn't shown me any problems ever since. I hope this is a permanent solution and the problem was just a very odd software bug. If it ever happens again I'll try some more adapters to see if other adapters than USB adapters can also somehow resolve the problem. Seeing that it works now, even if it may not work forever, makes me confident there is absolutely nothing wrong with the hardware. I'll see how long it lasts and even if this turns out to not be a permanent fix, it makes the device usable but so far I don't know if it's completely solved and as long as I don't update this post it probably means it's still working.

I hope this helps anyone with the same issue, all you need is a Lightning to USB (female) adapter. I can't guarantee this works but other people should try it and verify.
