So I own a MacBook Air M1 and also a desktop Windows PC connected to a 1080p monitor (it's a DELL u2422H). Since I mostly use only my MBA, I want to ditch my windows pc and use my MBA connected to a monitor instead. I know that my 1080p monitor is not enough for Macs, so my plan was to sell it together with my windows PC so I can buy instead a 4k monitor.

But here comes the problem: I've seen so many threads about people having every sort of issues with external monitors connected to Apple silicon MacBooks (mostly flickering), and I'm scared that I will sell my windows pc + monitor to end up with a MBA desk setup that doesn't work properly...

In particular I've seen people having problems with DELL S series monitors (mainly the S2722QC) and also with BENQ PDs series monitors that are supposed to be specifically designed to be compatible with Macs.

I was almost convinced to pull the trigger and buy an LG 4k monitor (model is 27UL500P) but it seems that even with this model some people are having issues.

So to the people who have MacBooks M connected to external monitors, can you share your experiences? Thanks to everyone in advance!

I woke up this morning with a notification on my phone saying scout detected near you. I clicked on the notification and it brought me to the find my iphone app. And this is what i can see on the app

I know how to record video at just 1080p, but I can't find anybody with answers for how to just take photos and screenshots in 1080p without any BS 3rd party apps or tools.

How can you exactly spot internal damage? It could be my anxiety deceiving me but I’m not sure wether phone is generating more heat or not.

I heard dropping could lead to circuit or thermal paste damage causing extra heat, what should I do?

With all this bad luck I’m just scared to do anything the more I want to keep things safe the more issues I encounter, what should I do to make sure phone is perfectly healthy and fine with no issues?

Anyone encounter this issue? Specially when you play ML,pubgm,codm, when you swipe your left thumb to the left the. Tap the lower screen at the same time, bottom screen becomes unresponsive to touches? I also encounter this on ip12pm. Anyone have a fix?

There's no way that can be a normal degradation of a professional grade battery. Generally this is light use when I want to get out of the office and sitting on the couch or coffee table.

Is there a way to block add's in app's like Youtube on Apple TV? So yes, how?

Just got an iPhone 12 with 88 percent battery health, it was on iOS 16. I downloaded the iOS 17.1.1 ipsw and clean flashed it with 3utools, everything was fine, then I restored my backup from the xs that I had, after that I felt that the phone is much slower, lags and heats up really fast when using cellular data. Is that the problem of the phone? Or it’s from restoring iTunes backup from my xs?

There is a single option here, but I don’t know how to double-tap it 🤷‍♂️ It used to work with the old “double-tap”, pre WatchOS 10.1

I got a message saying that a device was trying to sign into my Apple ID, this was around last month, I then changed my password to something else cause I was scared. Then later today I got a imessage on my phone from Apple sending me a one time code with the usual “Your Apple ID code is —————. Do not share it with anyone.” without me even requesting anything . Idk what to do has my Apple ID been hacked, please help

My phone suddenly stopped playing videos this morning when it was fine the night before. No form of video would play not even my camera roll videos.

After a bunch of troubleshooting, I finally found out that my speaker is the issue as when connected to my AirPods, the video plays. My phones speaker is completely silent, but I don’t understand why that would stop videos from not playing…

I know my speakers are in great shape and I assume this is a software issue as why would the phone not play any type of videos just because the speaker isn’t working, shouldn’t it just play without any sounds if it was a hardware issue?

Has anyone had similar issues? I am using the new 17.1.1 IOS and have tried everything and nothing seems to help. My speakers don’t work at all, only the earpiece works when on call.

It's like everything is dimmed or something? As soon as I go back to a website or anything else, I'm noticing how bright everything else is, compared to the video player in the Apple TV app (on my Mac).

Recently I was watching a movie (gran turismo), and even though I paid for it, I decided to download a pirated version just to be able to see the movie clearly.

I was gifted an iPhone 15 Pro, delivered yesterday morning, by yesterday evening it was being sent back (Network couldn’t sort out my contract).

But during this time I got to play with it, I was upgrading for an iPhone 11 (normal, not pro) and was so excited for the huge difference, but I just didn’t feel it?!

Do you feel you’ve had a big difference from your previous upgrade? I took the same photo on my 11 and 15th and unless you zoomed in, you couldn’t really see the difference. The sound quality on the 15pro I could hear every breath when recording and I also felt like white colours were ‘too strong’ on the screen making videos/photos feel fake on the 15 pro compared to read on the 11. Are you noticing any of these? Did I just not get to play long enough?

Upgrading from 7 to 11 felt HUGE and I was expecting that again, especially with this being a Pro model.

I am looking for a Macbook. My workload will be browsing, officeworks (Word, Excel), Photo editing and light Video editing. Which one should i go for? I want to atleast keep it for 5-6 Years.

Hey everyone, Recently my iPhone XS started crashing right after hitting the shutter button in the native photo app. After that, it wouldn’t turn on unless plugged to a power source.

Weirdly, this does not happen when I take photos with most third party apps or when I take a video in the native photo app. Also did the software upgrade to iOS 17 which changed nothing. Also did a full restore which didn’t fix t he problem. I recently replaced the battery and screen but the problem started some time after the replacement, so I’m not sure if it’s related.

Do you have any ideas what the problem could be? Hardware issue, should I try to replace the camera module? Saw some other people here who had a similar problem with an iPhone 12 mini but didn’t get many responses. Thank you!

I used to download from Amazon Photos and converted them from HEIC but now they’re saved as DNG, as far as I know I changed nothing. Is there a way to convert this file type?

I am a very anxious person and the most recent update has made the heart rate monitor something I can't use effectively anymore.

I do not like seeing the animated heart. I realize I can go down a level on the scroll wheel, but I would prefer to keep with the static graph ir having an option of the heart not animating with the HR. It's too difficult to watch for long, even at low levels feels anxiety inducing and I don't like it.

This is aggravating, because this is really the majority of what I use the watch for is monitoring my health and this is just an aspect of it I find to be upsetting in it's change. I don't feel the pulsating heart is helpful to anyone who is stressed. It may be good for exercise or whatever, but it's not calming or helpful when I'm trying to diagnose my pain flares from actual elevated heart rate.

I relied on the static dot chart and the current heart rate in the monitoring app.

If it's still available in a complication on one of the alternate watch faces, someone could let me know, I rarely go into the app on my phone.

This may be worse than when Apple made the podcast app into a reel to reel player.

Hey there I’m first time Apple Watch buyer and looking to get one today. But should I go for the brand new watch series 8 that’s £70 cheaper than brand new watch series 9? Which would be best in you’re opinion thankyou

I use it almost exclusively/when it makes sense to. But so many people are surprised that I use it.

Part of it is because I was an android user until about 2015 and that was always a feature on the phones I had. I also use it because I have small hands and the biggest iPhone so I find it easier to type one-handed sometimes.

None of the cellular providers in Nigeria support cellular on AW.

Asking in case there’s a workaround.
