My XS walked off a few days ago and I’m not sure that “find my iPhone” was on. I thought it was but iCloud says it’s off. I assumed it was because the person my phone walked to turned the phone off. It’s not showing up at all in “find my”. I can’t activate lost mode nor can I remotely erase it. Today I took a look and “find my” and “iCloud backup” is no longer listed under the phone. Does this mean they tried to wipe it? If I went to an apple store would they be able to help me at least blacklist the phone?

My iphone 15 seems to automatically be adding people into my contacts list. Any idea how to completely stop this? Prior to upgrade it didn't do this

I’ll pick up a plastic bag or something that isn’t loud at all and it’s apparently ear piercing to the other person I’m on the phone with and this only seems to happen while wearing my earbuds. I’ve tried different earbuds and I seem to have the same issue. Does anyone know why this happens and how I can fix it? I have a new iPhone 14 btw.

I currently have a 2016 iPhone SE that I bought in 2016 xD. It's time to upgrade and I'm thinking of buying refurbished. I'm between the 12 Pro and the 13. From the Pro, I like the camera. Of course, I prioritize updates but I understand that at least until 2027 I would receive support for the 12 Pro.

What is the autonomy in both models? Of course, I bought it with a new bat.

so when I go on find my in settings and click on the person I’m sharing location with a suggestion with their birthday shows up, and I tried clicking don’t suggest birthday but it alwayyysss comes back. I tried adding it to their contact and removing it and it still shows that. I have birthdays in calendar turned off. Their birthday was not too long ago is this because of Siri and search

Hey, I am a Journalism grad student working on a story about smartphone cameras. I recently acquired an old and used iPhone 1 for this purpose online but the phone isn't booting. The battery is charged and the screen works, it's just always stuck on the Apple logo and doesn't open to the home screen. I am just looking for a phone repair shop or an enthusiast who knows how to resolve this issue in Boston. Thank you.

So here is the deal. I have a job that bought me an iPhone. They pay for the verison plan to keep it running. I work in a fast pace position with lots of people calling and texting me constantly. I want to be able to call and text from the watch but i don't have the ability to put it on the plan with my phone since it is company owned (if that makes since). Is there a way to make phone calls and texts from a watch that is connected to my iphone via bluethooth? Or something similar?

Idk if this is the best place to ask this. Sorry if it's not, i just don't know where else to look for this solution. I've already googled and gotten confused by the different watches and capabilities or lack there of thst are put there.

CS student here, on an 15 inch macbook air. I'm thinking of utilizing iTerm2, as I've heard it has some nice features that are better than the "standard" terminal the mac offers.

Also, this a question I'm afraid to ask anyone in real life. On mac, the default shell is no zsh. Are there any issues in zsh running bash? I'm a TA , and I grade assignments, so I really don't want to screw anything up in my computer.

Getting ready to send my oldest off to college next year. Which current model is closest to their current Macbook setup in regards to price/performance? This model is serving them well, but the battery needs to be replaced very soon and I want to trade it in for a newer model.

Coming from iPhone 12, the side buttons on 15 are driving me mad. I used the buttons on 12 to regulate media volume before watching media to prevent i.e. yt movies or spotify from starting to play at a super high volume. On 15 however, I can only adjust media volume with Side buttons after the media has already started. Before playing media the Side buttons only function as ringtone/signal volume sliders. Is there any way to change this back?

Hey guys, i’ve been posting a bunch of stuff on this sub recently cause i’m trying to decide between a few Macbook pros. I first was trying to decide between getting the base M3 and the m2 air, but most people recommended getting the pros over the air. so now i’m trying to figure out if I should get a new M3 base or a refurbished M2 pro. 99% of people recommended for me to get the M2 pro as it’s much faster and a better computer overall (which i agree with). But now i’m really trying to be realistic with myself and ask “am i really going to notice the difference on a day to day basis?”. I’m not a creator or any of that stuff, i don’t use photoshop, lightroom, or any of the demanding apps that the mac pros can handle over the air. I would be using this mac for browsing the web, some productivity like MS office and possibly some other apps that both the M3 and the M2 pro could handle without a doubt. I’m just debating if i should get a fancy new machine and – i guess – get some more years out of it and more updates, or if i really need the extra power out of the M2 Pro for everyday use. Darn if only apple didn’t make deciding so difficult😅. what do you guys think? (sorry i know this is long but hope it made sense)

Well it’s exactly what the title says.

iOS has had an issue for years now, where if you lock the screen of the iPhone that using the personal hotspot, it will automatically disconnect for some stupid reason. Android doesn’t have this problem. I think the reasoning is, because iOS and android used to different hotspots. Say I use my sisters, android devices are hotspot, and that never happens when I lock my device. Can Apple use the same Wi-Fi hotspot very because this is really annoying

I've been trying to watch the Studio Ghibli films in sub (in iTunes extras) and everytime I press to watch the extras in Apple TV, I am presented with the dubbed version of the film. When I try to play them directly from the iTunes app, the extras won't play at all.

So my friend just purchased a Macbook Air from Best Buy and the salesman claimed he works for apple and any type of hard case will make the laptop overheat and void the warranty, has anyone ever heard of this?

I've had over 7 Macbooks. Standard, pro, air, etc. All of them have used hard plastic upper and lower snap-on cases (With vents in the bottom) and not a single one has had a single issue overheating.

Goal: I don't want to have to unlock my ipad as it never leaves my house (same concept as phone). However, when I want to make purchases I still need Passcode/FaceID for that.

Behavior: No matter what if you disable phone unlocking it automatically removes all credit cards and removes faceID entirely.

I'm convinced Apple doesn't seem to allow you to do this and I can't for the life of me understand why. Security wise I would still need to know the passcode/FaceID for the purchase so why do they COMPLETELY LINK turning off unlocking with completely removing all credit card data. The credit card data is already protected by your technology so you either trust it or you don't Apple.

I’ve had this iPhone 15 pro max for a few days and noticed this red color in the speaker… no idea what it is. Should I have it checked by Apple? I didn’t get it through them though I got it from my provider

My iPhone 13 got this horizontal line across the screen.

This line is visible all the time and doesn’t appear in screenshots. Can it be a hardware issue?
