Hey I have an iPhone 14 pro from a relative that got heavily bend and has an entirely smashed body but still seems functional on the inside (turns on with messages and a bit of the screen still shows the Lock Screen, buttons are broken tho) I was wondering what to do of it? What can be the selling value? (Could it maybe even make sense looking for iPhone 14pros that are just dead on the inside with a perfectly working body?) or repairing it and then selling?

And beside that I wondered if there are ways to use stuff like the cameras, gps etc individually with iot stuff like arduinos and the kind? I imagine it being very hacky etc but I mean there are all kinds of communities you wouldn’t expect so who knows.

Or a last idea to connect the main board to a screen (at worst buy a working replacement iPhone 14 Pro Display (actually could you use old iPhone screens for that?)) and build a good enough chassis to use it as a HomeKit control panel on the entrance or so?

Was cleaning my 15 Pro Max today and never noticed this until o put straight light into the telescope camera when I was checking if everything was clean, right inside the lens a tilted horizontal line., at first looked like a scratch inside the lens , but looking with some attention under the light it was a very straight line, is not affecting the photos at all, just checking if this is normal on 15 Pro Max? to check this put the telescope lens right under a flashlight light or lamp light.

Is there any way to recover permanently deleted videos and photos?

I took a selfie with one of my favourite singers that I luckily met after a show, but it was dark and the stupid auto dark mode turned on. I didn’t notice and moved my phone away after taking the picture quickly, and it ended up as a blurry mess :(

So sad. Is there anything I can do to recover this?

Anybody else has this bug, where the volume changes one more point more or less, almost every time? Also have this bug on my iPad. Restarting doesn‘t solve the issue sadly.

Also the last evenings, when starting my sleep timer, Sleep Cycle and then a show on Disney+, the volume gets stuck at loud and when I reduce it, it shows the change on display but doesn‘t turn quieter or louder. Setting volume and starting the show first helps sometimes.

Any solutions or just wait for next software update and hope?

Am i the only one who has this? It causes problems when it happens. I literally remember setting it on, and next morning just waking up to nothing and seeing that alarm is off

I want to block nsfw content on reddit on my brothers tablet but every time I do he turns it back on and is looking at p0rn or crime scene photo type thing,parental controls in setting only lets me put a time limit (he’s 8)

So, I am using investing com app, and I enabled notifications for stock prices for many stocks that I’m watching when price moves I get push notifications.

Last year the app has changed and started sending notifications about news and articles mostly fake news and false information maybe to increase app engagement.

There is no way to turn them off, even with subscription you will still get these notifications.

Is there a way to only allow the app to send notifications on certain time like 7 am to 2 pm weekdays only?

I tried scheduled summary but it doesn’t as it sends notifications on specific time not immediate.

The only things I know that MacBooks are really good at is the battery, and Apples ecosystem. I got the whole ecosystem besides a Mac. I would mainly use it for school and some music.

I have been a long time android user and I switched to iPhone 13 this July. My question here is do I need to keep closing recent apps everytime I get out of the app or is it okay for them to stay open. My hand just automatically closes them. Which is better for battery and system performance?

It has been a few hours since the release of ios 17.1.2.

That is so dumb. I’m coming from the galaxy watch five Pro, where there was a ‎WhatsApp app for the watch.

The handover itself happens and I can see the call app on the iPad but the audio does not get through (neither mine nor the other person).

Latest iOS and iPad OS, tried several times and it’s the same issue.

Same wifi, Apple ID, hand off allowed etc.

So I’ve hit 614 move goals and it will not update despite hitting my move goal for over a month. I’ve updated my phone, updated my watch, deleted and reinstalled apps etc with no avail… any ideas?!

Hi, so my phone slipped out of pocket on the lakeside and landed in a thin film of water. Not submerged. Not even 5 seconds. At home, the sensors gave alarm. Dried it, tried to start it, it went into bootloop. Took it to a repair shop and they said it´s finished.

I know Apple will try to turn this into a question of how I handled the phone after the incident, but shouldn´t this be a matter of them claiming that their phones can even survive short time submersion? Obviously mine was killed by far less, very minimal water exposure.

First of all, let me clarify I’ve been an iPhone user since 2021. Had the 13 and currently have 14. I am only asking this as I’ve found this mindset to be the case after moving to US and want to know what the community thinks as I find this very interesting. I find it very misleading when people say iOS is more intuitive than android. I’d paraphrase and say that they are different not that one is simpler than the other. I guess this perception comes from people who haven’t used any relatively modern android (like post 2017) because device settings and interface has been more or less same across generation and manufacturers. The settings are simple to understand like in display settings there are options labeled as resolution, refresh rate etc. One thing that is different between two OS is, in iOS a lot of app specific settings are within Settings app whereas in android most of the app specific settings are within the app. When I first switched to iPhone it annoyed me but now that I am used to it, it doesn’t bother. So I guess it’s a matter of habit. Androids like iPhone just work out of the box. Daily driving two OS I really can’t seem to differentiate between the two when it comes to usability apart from few OS specific minor quirks. Also there’s a popular notion in US that iPhone is easier to learn for grandparents. I don’t get that either. The basic functionality and UI of common apps are exactly the same. Do people really perceive android to be something hard to grip like Linux.

I want to have a certain set of apps available with the action button while I’m at work compared to everywhere else
