I’ve been meaning to ask this for a while…. I have a OLED (which I know just about anything looks good on) and the Netflix Standard plan. While watching Netflix, there’s just absolutely no way that this is the max 1080P resolution advertised. In settings on AppleTV, I manually selected the resolution and the TV itself confirms that the output is still showing Full 4K Dolby while on Netflix.

Are my eyes just deceiving me and upscale is happening, or does the fact that I force the full resolution in the settings make Netflix provide me with essentially their “premium” plan for free?

I’ve had this Netflix account since 07’ and despite the whole password sharing crackdown, I have yet to experience any pushback. Maybe as an almost 20 year long customer they’re going soft on me, idk?

I currently have a 2016 macbook pro that has lasted me for 7 years. I want to upgrade to an M2 air but idk when an M3 air comes out so i don’t know if i should wait or not.

I have lots of old iPhones ( SE 2016, 6, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus) and they're all rotting in my drawer. Can they be used for something fun?

I noticed in photos that my left wrist looked significantly thicker in old photos compared to now. I usually work out with it on and wear it snug (not tight). After going to bed I take it off and notice an indent on my wrist. Anyone else get this? Is it bad long term?

This is 2023. And the iPhone 15 battery is about 3300 vs the Google Pixel's 4300. And it's on Black Friday Sale for 347 dollars. Why in the world is there 1000 more mAh in a midrange phone than a flagship iPhone 15. Idc if they optimize software the battery life of iPhones compared to Android is crap. Why is apple doing this? 3300 mAh in a 800 dollar phone seems crazy to me. Also the Pixel 7a and iPhone 15 are the exact same size, 6.1 inch.

I have never owned an iphone before so my dad suggested a 14 plus (terrible value) this was before iphone 15, so i told my dad ill wait for 15 plus because it will have dynamic island (it did), so my dad agreed and gave me an option of 15 plus 256 gb or 15 pro 128 gb, i told my dad i want plus so i just thought i will get plus, but my amazing dad got the iphone 15 PRO MAX, (blue titanium 256 gb) the excitement on my face was over the top, but the pro max feels like a 15 plus because that is what i thought i was getting, from the front it looks the same, also i use minimalistic wallpapers which again make it look like the 15 plus. So is there a way to make my iphone feel more “pro”

So I just got a new Apple TV (the non 4K model) and it’s working great so far except for one thing. It controls the volume on my TV but I can’t get it to turn the TV on and off. I have it hooked up via HDMI and it’s the ARC (audio return channel) port. Anyone have any tips to help it turn the tv on and off?

So I repeatedly got notification to update my payment method on my iPhone. I do have credit balance on my phone but for some reason my phone is redirecting me to add more credit balance. When I go to payment method it tells me to update my billing information but all the billing information are correct. Been in this loop since yesterday. I have previously set my mobile number as Payment method on my iPhone and I am often using to purchase in game credits from Apple store. Until yesterday when this issue started.

Model is 12ProMax for reference.

Can someone guide me on how to fix this issue? Am I missing something ?

I’m looking at getting a series 9 as it’s a huge jump from my series 3, is it worth it getting cellular and paying the extra $200(AUD) I’m still at school and am frequently away from my locker and phone, but, will the Bluetooth connect range be enough for it to be viable?

Can you recommend a good MagSafe wallet? I have just one criterion: the NFC cards inside must be able to be read by the scanner without having to take them out of the wallet.

I bought Apple's MagSafe wallet but I always have to take out my metro card, for example.

I guess apple forgot that the iPhone SE doesn’t have Face ID… or maybe it’s a sign of a future iPhone SE with Face ID?!

Context: it’s an iPhone SE (2022, 3rd gen). Initiating name drop while the phone is locked results in the prompt asking for authentication, which is Face ID on basically all iPhones but the SE, yet it seems Apple forgot about that and the message for authentication still asks for Face ID, which the iPhone SE models don’t have.

As the title says, I’m currently a third year undergraduate who’s currently doing 2 remote internships and trying to work on a startup with friends, but my school workstation is a 2019 13” MBA and i’ve been struggling with slowness for a while now. Would it be worth it to just buy a M1/M2 MBA while it’s on sale now or wait until summer when I (hopefully) have a paying internship? Right now, I don’t have much income other than about $100/week with an off campus job and would finance it through my apple card.

I'm not sure what happened but my iPhone shut itself off sometime when I wasn't using it and now I can't turn it on at all. I already tried charging it for at least an hour but it still doesn't work. Does anyone know what's going on here?

For a long time I have bought the digital versions of movies off of iTunes and have more recently been expanding my physical collection. I’m curious, how big is the difference between the 4K digital version of a movie compared to the actual 4K disc? If I own the 4K digital version of a movie is there any reason to also pick up the disc version?

As the title says I bought a Apple TV 4K didn’t even know my tv supported Dolby Vision during setup switched to Dolby vision and wow it’s like I replaced my TV the video quality and picture quality is night and day compared to my old android boxes. That’s all thank you.

iPhone help, my iPhone 11 updated and my contacts didn’t transfer. Does anyone know the simple fix to this or do I need to go to Apple?

Hey, so recently I got a new iphone after my old one wasn’t updating anymore. There are some apps I want to download which I didn’t have before but I’m in Family Sharing so I need the guardian (my dad) to accept them. However, I was on my phone trying to REMOVE him from “find my iphone” since he doesn’t use the phone but I accidentally ERASED the phone and factory restarted it. Me and my dad have tried to log back in but it tells us that we need the passcode for his other iphone which is currently locked for the exact reason of him not knowing the password. So now, we have no access to his account and only access to mine. I can’t download any apps and I don’t want to go through the trouble of making a new icloud. Is there a way to turn off ask to buy otherwise? Maybe if he deletes his entire account which is the organizer (he knows the password to the account, just not the passcode of the other iphone)? Please help, anything is appreciated. Thanks 👍

What I want specifically isn't just syncing whole libraries or whatever, but being able to have the same fine control that I could have if I plugged in my iphone, adding and deleting individual songs, etc.

I vaguely remember that being a thing, but not how to do it.

P.S. I have a lot of songs and itunes can be agonizingly slow at times, is there a fix short of conducting a great purge of my song library?

I have 20k photos and 5k videos (don’t come @ me, I have kids lol). I’m in desperate need of some storage, and I’m already paying for extra iCloud space. I need get rid of photos and videos, but it’s beyond time consuming, even when doing multi-select. What’s the best way to approach this? It’s super overwhelming and frustrating whenever I get the storage full pop up daily.
