All of the hardware is fine. I am looking for is web browsing and open office. Is there a good lightweight linux distro for 2009 MBP that will let me browse the web in the latest chrome or firefox?

I am well aware that chromebooks are basically free when compared to the new cost of this MacBook Pro, but this a sentimental object.

I'm a new app developer and started learning iOS a month ago. I've been trying to make an app every 2-3 days on something I'm passionate or interested in. Recently, I wanted to make was a fun kids friendly app for my cousins.

Recently, I've been spending a lot of time improving this app to be more engaging for kids.

I'm always looking for ways to improve the experience so feel free to give me any sorts of criticism / feedback. I am currently working on adding more audios for animal as well as adding an audio description for each animal. Also, tinkering around with the Rive framework to make more engaging visuals for kids.

My ex boyfriend recently passed away due to a OD of fentanyl it’s now labeled a homicide due to the circumstances.. the detectives are trying to figure out how to unlock his phone but we haven’t had the best of luck we’re trying to find any evidence off his text messages to see who he last seen or talked to because that’s most likely the person who gave it to him.. I’m in Texas and his parents are in Florida I’m trying to help them the best I can but explaining technology to older people seems harder then I thought! any advice on how to go about unlocking it? iPhone is super difficult when you don’t have the passcode it’s like impossible to get in! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What Apple Watch is the more worth it? Broke my gen 1 SE and looking to get something new. Looking to get jump to series 7 or 8 (new or used) as opposed to getting another SE. Is the 8 that much better than the 7? Looking for a nicer screen, so are there any differences between the two?

I still have a 2012 Samsung HD TV, I was thinking about picking up an Apple TV HD(The model from 2015) since 4k is not a big deal for me. But I was wondering, is this Apple TV slow at this point?

After the 14 Pro Max screen replacement, the screen does not light up when notified.

• Replaced with original screen.
• True tone transfer was made. True tone and auto brightness work smoothly.
• Proximity sensor works smoothly.
• Rebooting and factory reset did not solve the problem.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Currently have a Sony Bravia A80J and my two HDMI 2.1 ports are being used by Sonos (eArc) and Xbox Series X and all I have left is one HDMI 2.0 port. Apple TV 4K should still output Dolby Vision with no issues on HDMI 2.0 right? Reason for getting an Apple TV 4K is due to built in Google TV being slow and sluggish. Any advice and recommendations greatly appreciated.

I've got an S7 Graphite but there's loads of different options. Such as space graphite (what?), space black (that got replaced by graphtite). Seems like the correct names need to be sorted

MacBook Air 15" Laptop - M2 chip - 16GB Memory - 512GB are on sale at Best Buy for $1399 right now. My 2017 MBP is still working so the purchase isn’t urgent, however, it is pretty slow. Am I better off waiting to buy it refurbished or is this about the best price I’ll see? I have Best Buy total tech so that price includes two years of Apple care.

I got a m2 macbook pro 16gb 512gb that is still within the return period(costco) and they just price matched it for 1599. The m3 pro is 1849 at costco and while not much more, I don't see the real big difference for 300 bucks...if I get to a point that this one is outdated, have a feeling the m3 will be as well.

The new version of the Message app removed the hotbar above the keyboard that had your photos, gifs, and add-on apps. Now you can only access them by hitting the Plus button icon to the left of the message. Is there a way to restore the hotbar? The new system is so much slower and more cumbersome.

Just got the new iPhone 15 so my Apple Watch also was updated with the phone switch. With that said, I noticed the workout app is gone. I didn’t delete it and I can’t seem to download it from the App Store. Anyone have similar problems, know what to do?

I just got the apple watch 9, and I can’t find gestures on the settings. I want to turn on double tap but I can’t find gestures within the watch just on the watch app on my phone and all that says is cover to mute.

Hello. I recently purchased a Apple Watch Series 6 for my father that is currently using an iPhone 8+. When trying to pair/setup, it's giving me a "iOS Needs to be Updated" popup. Currently the iPhone is on 16.7.2, which is the highest it can go.

According to the Apple Support website, it should be compatible with the phone/firmware it's currently on:

" Apple Watch Series 6 require an iPhone 6s or later with iOS 14 or later.
Features are subject to change. Some features, applications, and services may not be available in all regions or all languages "

Phone is updated to 16.7.2 and cannot update any further.

I’ve had a bug where several different apps won’t play sound, unless the ringer is on. If I force close the app and relaunch the app, sound will play with the ringer on silent.

Hello guys, i yesterday bought an iphone 11 and apparently when i enable optimized battery charging option the phone shows that it charges but the percentage is not increasing but when I turn off optimized battery charging the phone charges normally. I would like to know how to fix that. Ios 17

Hi all!

My friend has had the same lock and home screen for years and they both transferred over when she upgraded her phone a few years ago (5s to XR). She'd like to change the lock screen, but keep the home screen. In the settings, it shows her late dog as both the lock and home screen, but her home screen shows up as the brushstroke background when that wallpaper combo is selected. Unfortunately, she's lost the brushstroke image somewhere in the mix and doesn't have it in her photo library anymore (which also seems odd, but I know she had limited storage on the 5s and had to offload a lot of media). Does anyone know why this is the case? Maybe something with the phone transfer?

So I have an extremely important remotely proctored exam coming up in January. Macbook has been having issues with Kernel Panics, restarting not all the time but when I step away from the computer it has the folder question mark icon as well.

Reinstalled the OS, and ran in safe mode, apple diagnostics shows no hardware error. Cleaned my mac and removed any oudated files etc.

The quote i got for the battery replacement is almost $400 CAD. New MacBook Air would obviously be higher but i'm wondering what to do here, if its worth buying a new laptop or not.

So I bought this (used) MacBook Air M1 (2020) a few days ago (the MacBook itself is just 10 months old) . When i opened the parcel and used the MacBook for the first time I immediately noticed, that the spacebar is a little bit sticky. I tried to clean it with a brush, just a little bit but it wont really help. Today I wanted to use it again but it even got worse. I still have 2 Months warranty but if IceTea or whatever got spilled on the keyboard apple wont fix it for me unless i pay for it ( so no warranty will apply i guess). I don't know what to do - they guy I bought it from swears he didn't spill anything. Does anybody know if its possible to just clean the spacebar and not replace the whole damn keyboard? Is it possible that a guy will do it for me? I read a lot of posts and watched a bunch of videos regarding cleaning the spacebar and I have to admit it doesn't look that easy.I really hope somebody can help me.

Different apps used to have different sounds. Now they all sound the same since the update. Can I change the sounds on different apps?

I’ve been looking all over for free alternatives to the Apple screensavers that are holiday themed. Seems a huge miss there aren’t a snow/winter theme to play during the Christmas season or something similar for other holidays.

Sure I know you can throw up random photos you take or steal but having the progression and movement like other aerial photos in a winter theme would be stellar. Has anyone found one of these or am I just missing the setting?
