In the past I have used Root Certificates, such as the one for NextDNS, but today when I randomly decided to check this section of Settings I see these two that I do not know what they are for and they are grayed out so that I cannot toggle them off!

Does anybody know what this is about and why they’re grayed out so that I cannot toggle them off? I appreciate any and all support! Thank you! 🙏🏼

I used to let my iPhone sync to macOS via iTunes and all the files could be found in a Voice Memos folder on my Mac.

This option is now gone because iTunes is no more. When I airdrop or save to iCloud Drive, the original creation date shown in the Voice Memo app is replace by today's date. This is really stupid and must be a bug.

Anyone found an easy option I can use regularly without using the terminal or some obscure third party app?

Edit: I've already searched for a solution online countless times.

I hate the new way it works by clicking the side button to bring up my widgets. I loved when I could swipe up to bring up my shortcuts/widgets. Is there a way to change it back to that?

Hi all, posting on behalf of my friend who doesn't have reddit.

She has two phones. Her personal Phone is an iPhone. She also has a Samsung phone, that is her work phone. She does not have call forwarding set up or even share email accounts between the phones. They are entirely separate accounts. The iPhone got an update 2 days ago.

Her son also has an iPhone and recently went to London, UK. My friend is in GA, USA.

This morning, her son called her on her iPhone, from London.

His name and number popped up on the Samsung but the message he left for her recorded on the iPhone.

The text messages between her and her son on the iPhone are all now in green as well, and a number she didn't recognize was showing up at the top of her text message list. (Gray bubble with person outline, phone number underneath it, very large above the list of people she has text convos with) After checking the white pages, she does know the person the number belongs to, but they are not saved in her contacts.

This is super super weird and we are both very confused. She checked her settings and does not have any kind of call forwarding set up.

Does anyone have ANY idea what could be going on?

I have a 12 with ios 17.1.1 and a 7 Plus with 16.x.x. Will I be able to backup and transfer the files from the 12 to 7 plus using iTunes using the restore method? Thanks

I just got the iphone 15 pro today and when i finished setting up the phone with the data transfer and everything, the apple watch sent me a notification asking if i want to pair the watch to the new phone. I clicked yes and it started on its loading screen. It made a bit of progress but then got stuck and it’s not even close to halfway yet. It’s been like that for 3 hours and i took it off my wrist and put it on charge an hour ago. Is this an error or what should i do? Thanks a lot in advance

Before anyone flames me for viruses on iPhone, this is hypothetical. I’m just curious.

My eyes are getting old and the 14” isn’t cutting it. I am still on my return window and a 16” M2 just dropped in price near me for $1999.

Anything I am missing before pulling the trigger? Will be mainly used for photo editing (again, the reason why I prefer 16”).

I'm shopping for a new laptop and it seems like both the MacBook Pro M1 and Air M2 are relatively the same price although the pro is a 14" and air is a 15".

I don't plan on doing intensive workload and maybe some video editing or animation / PowerPoint presentation / SW compilation will be the heaviest use I'll put it through.

That said the M1 chip is a few years old now. Would it still be worthwhile for me to get the MacBook Pro M1 anyways despite the fact? I don't really need the latest and greatest.

I was thinking… with future Apple Watches rumored to get various health tracking features such as glucose monitoring, blood pressure sensing, sleep apnea monitoring, and the other possibilities, my only thought is Apple will turn all of these features into a monthly based subscription service in order to use them. What are your thoughts?

I purchased a brand new M1 last April, the battery capacity has already lowered down to 90% after only 26 cycles. I'm quite concerned by how quickly the capacity is reducing considering the low number of charge cycles. Can anyone give some insight as to whether this is cause for concern? I use it plugged into the charger for the most part as I have an external moniter connected up and that would deplete the battery quite quickly if I were running on battery most of the time. I keep AlDente running in the background limiting the charge to 80% Many thanks in advance.

So I'm in a small country in Caucasus (Georgia) and we do have authorized resellers here, but I noticed that even they sell some iPhones with a 100$ discount relative to official price set by Apple for Georgia ($1780 for pro max 256). Which means those cheaper phones are imported "unofficially", because a store can't sell Apple goods for cheaper price. Ever.

What happens if I buy that iPhone? I would've bought the officially imported one, but they don't have it in white color (in another store).

I've been a Pixel user for a long time. But I want to try iPhone this year. Because android sucks on uploading video on social media(fault of the app not the operating system). The compression of the video when uploading using android vs uploading on iPhone is so far. I just have 1 question since I really love Google Photos. If you go on some social app can you make Google photos as default selected app for choosing a photo/video to upload? What I really want is to really disable default photo app of iPhone.

I just got my first sports loop today, I see in the box that Apple recommended having the "bigger" bottom of the watch, but I find it better looking when I have it on top looping down. I have the XL size so the loop either goes all the way into me or away from me. I have a big wrist and even the trail loop doesn't fit me right so that's why I got the sport loop. What is your thought and how do you wear your sport loop? Also why? I do some light running and activities during the day nothing too crazy. Also, I always wear my watch to track my sleep. I'm changing from the old Leather Link and that the bottom is facing out. Just want some insight on the situation. Thanks.

Upon starting my ride, I got a prompt saying "it looks like you're riding a bike, would you like to start a cycling workout?" and I selected "mute for today" and went on with my ride. At the end of my ride, I got credited with a bunch of "move" activity and it says I burned 800 calories as if I was working out or something. Scooters don't take any physical effort to ride so I feel like I cheated by closing out my rings.

Every application I open it’s SUPER slow. I don’t go on suspicious websites only YouTube, Amazon and Netflix. My mom also has loads of photos on the MacBook but it never ran this slow since I cleared the cache so, what’s up?

Hello, is it technically possible to use a Mac Mini M1 to power a MacBook Air M1, and use the MacBook Air keyboard and internal monitor? The Mini would just appear as another disk.

Like some us will probably never use wireless charging or use the camera to it's full potential. Should apple allow customizations to the iPhone like "single camera" or "metal back" and reduce pricing based on selected options.

What do ya'll think?
