Any thoughts on how best to insure a 14 month old iPhone? I nearly lost it the other day and don’t want that to happen again. I have renters insurance but not sure of the deductible. Any thoughts? Based in USA. Thanks!

Display performance has improved just seems faster?

I am looking to buy a used Apple TV on eBay, but the seller doesn't know if it has been factory reset or not. If I buy it, and it is still tied to the user's Apple account. Can I do a factory reset and tie it to my account without having to jump through a bunch of hoops, like having to know a pin or password?

I bought my M1 Macbook Air 8GB this weekend and today I used it for the first time for coding. It was only to learn SwiftUI and it took about 2 hours. It wasn't performance demanding thing just tested layouts and stuff. After 2 hours I picked the macbook up and it was really really hot on the bottom like burning hot. I didn't use any emulator and stuff just preview on the side. And the battery kinda drained it was 83% when I started and it was at 30% after 2 hours. I used it on my large mousepad. Is it possible that my mousepad prevented air flow and thats what heated up the thing or is this normal to heat up like this or do i have to contact for apple for a warranty? Should I be worried about the battery performance and heating?

Hi all! I’m thinking of getting my first Apple Watch and was looking for some advice. I’d like to use the watch for telling time, exercise, health and receiving notifications. I’ve seen some used series 8s with good battery life and no scratches for a decent price (210-240). Would there be any benefits to getting a new series 9 instead? I’m hesitant because of the price jump but would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks!

I like playing Triple A games on the console. Unfortunately, the quality of the games there is decreasing and the price is rising. You also need more and more time to fully understand the games and expensive hardware such as custom controllers to be able to keep up with multiplayer.

I learned to slow down again on the Apple TV. I just need my remote control, nothing else. I only need one hand and thanks to the touch surface I don't have to move it much. There are so many good indie games for the Apple TV that I would like to share with you.

I created this post because the Apple Store on the Apple TV is unfortunately not that well stocked. Many games don't work or only work with the 1st Apple Remote that had a motion sensor or they only work with a controller.

I simply want to change my voicemail as it sounds cringe and I haven’t updated it in years. But three network doesn’t support visual voicemail, what do I do?

Ever since I updated to ios17 on my iPhone 14 Pro, I’ve been having no problems with airplay on both of my Apple TVs, one of which is a 4K version. Sometimes I have to turn off airplay on the Apple TV for it to work, reload the page or Switch between playing from my phone or Apple TV. Is there any way to get it to work the first time? Are others having problems too?

Wondering if there’s any way to silence all notifications but receive texts/calls from one person (my boss). I have a unique job that requires me at times to be on call. Would love to be able to sleep through BS alerts but wake up if she calls/texts. Thanks!

I used to have Peak Design’s iPhone wallet kickstand, and I LOVED the functionality of it very much — but their colors are too dull for me to go back to. (I seem to like bright or pastel colors.) So I can’t bring myself to get one again.

Last night I misplaced my phone. I got my girlfriend to phone it and it started ringing in her sons room. He said he took it by accident. I looked at my Home Screen and it didn’t show the missed call which made me suspicious. Is there a way to check if he was snooping or check login times on my phone if I have a passcode? I’m a big fan of Safari and how seamlessly it works with all my Apple devices, but these ads are pushing me to the edge. I can't even get through an article without being interrupted by some ad or another. It’s super annoying.

I’ve looked up older threads on this, and I’m choosing between two adblockers rn - Stop the Madness and Magic Lasso. They both seem like they could be a solution, but I'm not sure which one to go for. Anything that stands out?

Are there other options I’m missing?

Recently finally got a 4K HDR TV to go with my Apple TV 4K.

As far as I can tell, neither the Apple TV 4K's Movies app nor macOS's AppleTV app ever download the 4K media for local storage, but they always stream from Apple's servers. Does anyone know of any documentation on this, and how the bitrate is determined? On iOS I see the file sizes for downloads for HD and below, but not 4K. On macOS, I see only HD as download option, and only streaming options for 4K (I was hoping to use Home Sharing from my mac perhaps).

I'm looking at getting the absolute maximum image quality, and when streaming from other services I've noticed some artifacting (color banding in gradients) that I think are related to the encoding and/or bitrate.

Help I think my phone is being tapped. I’m very well aware that the iPhone is the most common smart phone that people use, but I think my phone is being tapped. I have very few friends or followers, so i often talk to myself. I’m not a very loud person, but it always seems like everyone knows what I’m thinking. Nothing feels natural to me. Pictures that I haven’t posted on the internet, it’s as if everyone’s seen them or something. I’m grown in my late 20s but I feel like there’s some type of parental controls on my phone. I pay my own phone bill. Sometimes even when I work a job, coworkers make smart slick comments to me even though I don’t talk to them outside of work. I’ve tried turning off my phone location. I can’t tell if there’s a camera on phone that’s recording me or if it’s just an audio thing or both. Can someone help me fix this issue.

Hi, I have a problem with my account. I'm from Uruguay and all my cards are from Uruguay, I used them always with no problem, made a trip to Peru and purchased a subscription for an app while in Peru.

Now this subscription has been pending for 4 days, my account tells me to update my payment methods but all cards I put are rejected, debit or credit, ones I used before and even new ones I try. all say my payment method has been rejected.

Now I dont find how to ask for a refund for this purchase (since its pending it doesnt let me ask for refund) and dont find where to email apple support, there is no official store in my country so cant go there either.

Any help is appriciated.

Just wondering about this. I’m sure it’s possible. You can look at certain histories on apps and on browsers within the phone. But can you know whether or not someone entered the phone, looked at photos, contacts, etc. I’m sure it’s technologically possible to do this

Any one else getting super frustrated with the update not actually helping battery life? I unpaired, reset, removed weather, removed all other apps, nothing seems to help me get back to two days. I finally decided to turn off the AOD and now it feels like an ultra.

Is there a way to bring turning AOD on and off into a complication to try and find some middle ground?

What in the world is going on? Ever since the most recent software update, my phone keeps randomly switching from my network to some other found networks. i have no idea where they are even coming from. I then select "forget network" on them or I disable auto connect on them and I changed another setting to ASK before joining. And yet then literally a few minutes later I get a message saying it found some xfinity network again and it gives me no option to accept or decline it and then switches from my network over to that one yet again!

Usually goes down to 68 or 69 but any tips to lower it? I’m a male 26 year old. 140. Diet is not the best but I am not heavy. I sleep from 10:30pm -5:15am. I think it’s okay rest.

Yesterday and today, I keep getting Cloudflare pop-ups saying something about my kids' school district web site. It's constant. Thing is I never signed up for cloudflare, so why is this on my phone? I check settings > vpn, there is nothing listed.
