Saw the clip in this sub of 17.2 in action so thought I’d give it a go myself. Unfortunately in the UK, our services and tv providers don’t integrate with the Apple TV app in the same way they do across the pond making this update a big let down. It just feels clunky using it without the benefit of a sidebar full of your apps and subscriptions. Hoping they tweak this further or change the way apps integrate into the TV app at least

To simply launch the REVIII app you need to upgrade iCloud drive, but this switch won't stay ON. Basically, it stays on for a fraction of a second and then turns itself off. What am I doing wrong?

Edit: I've tried pushing harder, and yelling, but still doesn't work.

I’m not sure why, but sometimes when I check my sleep activity in the morning, this is what was picked up. How come sometimes it reads my sleep normally, and other times it doesn’t?

i have an iphone 6s that the screen got cracked but still worked flawlessly and i ordered a new one but the one i ordered for for the iphone 6s plus and i tried fitting and smashing the connectors together until i got it in and from that point on my old display doest work, no nothing both of the cable pins and cables look good to me so idk ehat hapoened

Hey y’all,I’ve been looking for a solution for a long time now. Finally joined Reddit recently and I feel like I may find answers here. My IPhone5 was knocked out of my hand a number of years ago and hit the ground. It worked for about a month after that till it decided to basically turn off and never want to turn back on. All I get is the Apple logo for a while then even that goes away. I would mean the absolute world if anyone knows a way to retrieve camera roll contents off of this lifeless phone.TIA!🙏🏻❤️

I have an iPhone SE 2020 and I gave up trying to get a smart battery case. I can buy a magsafe case but does anyone know what a good magsafe battery pack is other than the apple one (too expensive). I heard heat is an issue so is there one that doesnt heat up so quick?

I wrote this in my journal originally when I was reflecting on a year with my Apple Watch, having spent some time going back over my fitness stats. Having rewritten it a little I decided to share it.

Introduction

I got my first Apple Watch in April 2015 when the Apple Watch was first released. That watch lasted until the start of COVID-19 when I stopped wearing a watch. When the Ultra was released in 2022 I decided to get one, I liked the idea of getting healthier, although my life was completely sedentary at that point. I last exercised properly in my early 20s until a running injury and was now in my early 30s. I was unfit, not overweight but my body was ill-defined and sluggish.

First runs

While waiting for my Apple Watch to arrive during the three-week lead time on delivery, I put on some shoes (not trainers, I didn’t have any), downloaded a couch to 5k running app, and set off on the first session. I was horrified at how difficult this first session of interval walking and short jogs was, barely able to make it through, thinking about how I used to easily run half marathons in my early 20s. The next two days I could barely get out of bed, my body aching and stiff. But I persevered with the program.

Watch first impressions

My new watch arrived and I was disappointed with the packaging compared to the original. The original had a high-quality box and presented the Watch in all its glory when opened, whereas the more expensive Ultra came in tear-strip cardboard packaging without any special presentation or surprises. I was however really pleased with the battery life and the big, clear screen, obviously more important than the box.

I was also interested to see that it came with a three-month trial of Apple Fitness Plus.

Starting to build a routine

As I continued my couch to 5k I was aching less and was improving quickly. Motivated, I loaded up Apple Fitness and followed some yoga and core workouts. I saw strength workouts but didn’t own dumbbells, and a smaller framed guy hadn’t built muscle after dabbling in it with friends (again in my early 20s).

I started to build a routine and liked closing my rings. Motivated I ordered some dumbbells. I started following Greg and Kyle's strength workouts every few days. At the start, my entire body would radiate with aching for one or two days after the workout. I needed a full rest day. But after time the aching changed to just a mild ache and I would start to build up a routine of consistent exercise.

An established routine

A few months in I had established a routine that would build in intensity over time. I particularly liked running and having graduated from couch to 5k, now followed the 10% a week increase rule. This meant steadily increasing my distance, but not exceeding more than 10% of the previous week's distance. Having conquered a 5k, I then took pride in completing a 7.5k, an 8k, a 10k and so on, ticking off goals in my Reminders app. At the same time, I was reaching strength goals that I had never expected. I’m embarrassed to say that I could not complete a single good-form push-up before I got my Apple Watch. Now I was doing 5, 10, 15, and later 35 in a session.

Routine optimisation

Then I did something that took me to a new level. In February I read a book that changed the way I designed my day. It helped me structure my day in a new way, waking up at 5 a.m. meant I had time to read, but also to exercise. This is the point I started exercising every single day and started to see a big change in my exercise performance. I have a clear change to a very defined form. I also got a promotion at work a few months later, and my outlook on life generally improved.

One year in

So where did all this take me?

My life has improved, my days are more structured, and I can feel my body getting incrementally healthier. I feel extremely lucky to have found something new to enjoy when my life around a year ago was clearly in a rut.

I am trying to find ways to challenge myself further, possibly learning a new skill like swimming. It is not a fix-all, but I am looking forward, and excited to write my journal entry this time next year.

  • Average of 109 kilometres travelled on foot a week (26 kilometres last year)
  • Current Apple Fitness ring streak of 303 days
  • “Heavy” dumbbell weight started at 4kg, now 10.5kg

I’m looking into buying an Apple TV. My Roku just broke and need a streaming box to stream my various services (Hulu, Max, Prime video, etc.) on. I’d also like to get Apple TV to watch their originals. I don’t have a 4K TV so I’m not sure if this product makes sense for me or if I should just get another Roku or Firestick and just get the Apple TV app to steam on separately. I’m a little confused how this product works. Do I need an Apple TV also for this? Do I need Apple TV+ for their shows?Any suggestions?

Basically as the title says. I really liked the iPhone 11 PM with the rounded corners and 2D-class.

I got both the 13 Pro and the 14 Pro and never really got used to the flat and sharp design.

After using my new iPhone 15 PM for like 15 minutes I totally hated how my old 14 Pro feels. The slightly rounded corners and the slight 2D-class feels so good just while holding the phone and especially while using swipe gestures from the sides of the phone.

I'm really happy, thanks for reading, just needed to share my excitement with some other nerds like me

Ever since the recent updates to iOS and tvOS. I can only AirPlay sound and not the video from YouTube in safari. Does anyone have the same issue?

I had a random thought before we went on holiday to grab my old hdmi to usbc display port cable.

A couple of days later, my wife had an itch to watch x files - the holiday cottage tv doesn’t have Disney plus, but my phone does! Hook up and we’re watching just like that!

What is this an android??

WTF. This is my first month with a cellular apple watch.

I just got the first bill and its almost SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS in addition to my phone.

$35 activation fee

$10 watch data

$18 for taxes and fees

While I definitely disagree with the $35 activation fee, I understand it's just a one time charge, but holy shit how can anyone justify almost $30 a month. Literally the fees and taxes cost more than the actual product.

Been trying to save a backup of my mother's phone to a hard drive and after over an hour I've found no way to pick a specific area for the backup to save to using iTunes, so I need to go through a long ass process just to maybe move the backup files to where I want them to be. Compare that to my Samsung that I legimately spent 5 minutes downloading the smart switch app to my pc and picking the location to save to and boom, that's it. Why does Apple have to make it such a pain in the ass to do anything with your phone if you aren't using an Apple product? (eg. Mac)

Is the iPhone 15 Pro’s screen less scratch resistant than the previous gen? Mine has small scratches and all I did was have it face down on an office desk. It’s a week old. I had the iPhone 13 Pro Max for 2 years without a screen protector and the screen was 99% scratch free. This was an iPhone from AT&T if that makes a difference.

I was planning to buy MBA m1 and the 16gb ram is like nearly double the price of the 8gb ram in India. I only wanna do web development and dsa and nothing else for the next four years till my engineering ends(3years from now) and a bit more after till I can afford another better laptop. I've heard in some years the 8gb ram will be a bottle neck but, so someone please tell me what I should do, if I should just switch to some windows option instead

since i got my apple watch my cardio fitness looks like this - however before getting it i barely did any sports. since having it i almost do sports every day, even when it is just 0.5-1h fast walking. So how come my cardio fitness is declining?

Since the new update it’s been like this… I have no timer on, any of the alarms or the stop watch on. I did a hard restart and it’s still on the screen.. it’s kinda annoying, has anyone had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Hi, with the newest watchOS update, my watch will always auto-pause my workout when i stop for a minute or two, even though i have auto-pause workout off in the watch settings on my phone. super frustrating because i missed the whole extra hour on my workout after. Is there a new way to turn it completely off?
