Hi all,

I've noticed in a recent update, all of my 4k movies in Plex are displaying a red hue in every movie. The movie isn't transcoding, it's being played directly. I thought it was my server, but I tested the Plex app on my Samsung TV and it played perfectly. Both were playing directly without transcoding. Does anyone know if Apple changed something or if the Plex dev team changed something recently in tvOS?

I found some apple watch in my uncle's tech Depot and he said I could just have it because he switched to Android. It's locked behind an activation lock and I have already asked him if he has the original box or receipt or apple id and he doesn't, none of it somehow for a tech person. From what ive researched is there literally nothing I can do but let this thing go to waste? It's so much nicer then my og gear x watch

Edit: I couldn't figure out how to see what is was and now I know it's a 2nd gen so is it still even worth trying or should I just get a new one

Edit 2: I thought it was an apple watch 2 because those come up when you look up watch se 40 mm from the bottom. But the watch needed iOS 16 update so it was using watchOS 9? Os9 only goes back to the series 4. How TF do I tell what generation it is?

Here’s the thing. People who own a 13 Pro know that it had the best set of wallpapers any iPhone could ever get (even for those without the 13 Pro, iOS 15 still had banger wallpapers)

HOWEVER, after iOS 16 came out, they revamped the entire wallpaper and widget system.

Now you’ve got either the Weather, Astronomy, Pride, Black, Emoji, Kaleidoscope, Photo, Photo Shuffle & Color

But wait, there’s a separate category called Collections right?

Yeah, about that

Collections, for some damn reason, don’t house any of the old wallpapers!!

I know my frustration may not be shared amongst all of the members, but I really miss having those old wallpapers

Granted you can get a photo from the web, but it can never replicate the original features, like changing during dark or light mode.

For whatever reason my parents bought a 2020 iPhone SE, put it in a drawer and forgot it. They gave it to me to sell on eBay, now the buyer is telling me he's been AT&T and the Apple Store and the phone has been reported stolen and will not work. How is that possible if as far as I know the phone hasn't been turned on since leaving the store and has never had an Apple ID logged onto it and how can I turn this off the seller can use the phone?

I've tried plugging it into my PC, tried uploading to Onedrive and Icloud and youtube, and I've tried the VLC wifi-sharing, but all options either nuke the video quality or the video just doesn't show up.

Any ideas? The video is 43 mins long and about 4 gigs.

I posted this to r/iPhoneography, but I figured I'd ask here as well.

I'm trying to optimize my photography workflow, and trying to figure out the best way to do so. My current workflow consists of this:

1. Shoot photo
   • ProRAW
   • Typically using stock Camera app
2. Wait for photos to sync to iCloud
   • It seems like I'm not making good use of my 15 Pro's 10gbps USB C port, but whenever I try to sync photos over a wire, I end up with duplicates when it finishes syncing with iCloud
3. Open them in the Photos app on my Mac, edit with Pixelmator Pro
   • I use Pixelmator Pro's Photos integration, by going to Edit > ... > Pixelmator Pro
4. Make edits, save

This works great, but it leaves me with edited .dng RAW files. Not an issue if I'm sending them on iMessage, or if I have my Mac handy to convert them, but if I'm trying to use an app like Discord which doesn't automatically convert to png/jpeg, i'm out of luck.

What I'd like to avoid is taking a photo, having it sync to iCloud, copying that photo to my Mac's local storage, editing it, uploading the edited/exported PNG to iCloud, and having a RAW and a PNG duplicate of every photo

I could import the RAW photos to my Mac locally either via iCloud or via USB, but then I either have to manually pick out and delete those RAWs off my iCloud library, or deal with duplicates.

If I did go this route, I haven't tested it but it would only be viable if the edited/exported PNGs retained all the exif data such as date and location, because I'm particular about having as much metadata like that as I can and I'm not going to go through the hassle of manually tagging them.

The best option I've thought of so far is this:

1. Shoot photo
2. Sync RAW photos to Mac's local storage via iCloud or USB
3. Edit in Pixelmator Pro/Lightroom/etc.
4. Export edited photos as PNG, and upload to iCloud
5. Delete RAWs from iCloud, but back them up on my selfhosted server

It's still a lot of hassle to delete the RAWs from iCloud to avoid duplicates though, so I haven't started doing this.

There's got to be a solution out there for this, but I feel like I'm missing something.

I want to delete emails but on iphone, it almost always shows the ARCHIVE function instead.

Wheras on mac its always the red trashcan delete option. Can I get that on iphone? Very rarely it shows the delete option on phone and i havent found any pattern to it, seemingly random.

As requested by some, I tested out the Ultra 2 battery under various different settings to see how the battery life would fare.

Some of these include Always-On , wearing the watch to sleep, and Raise-to-Wake. This was done while wearing with normal day-to-day usage.

Here are some insights from the test:

• By turning off ‘Always On Display’, ‘Raise to Wake’, and forgoing sleep usage, you can achieve a ~20% longer battery life.
• Using the watch for sleep, having the ‘Always On Display’ and ‘Raise to Wake’ enabled can reduce battery life by ~33%.
• Using the watch for sleep tracking reduces battery life by approximately ~8%.
• Having ‘Always On Display’ and ‘Raise to Wake’ activated together can contribute to a ~28% decrease in battery life.

The next test I'll be wearing the Ultra 1 and 2 at the same time to see battery performance.

This only happens while my iPhone is charging on it's side in StandBy mode. I have the StandBy mode set to show the clock, but starting a few days ago I noticed a green Phone call icon at the top of the clock view. I've tried clicking (ending call) and when I do it shows "ending call" to the last person I spoke with on the phone and it lists how long this ghost call has been going on (the time elapsed since I hung up the call with the person spoke with).

The first time I noticed this I forced restarted my phone and the green phone icon went away, but last night it showed up again.

Any help would be appreciated!

For the last week I’ve noticed that my two year old iPhone 12 Pro Max has not been charging at night, which is a problem I’ve never had before. My battery capacity is 81%, it should still charge.

Tonight I was charging it in the car and it suddenly started tremoring, it sounded like one of those joke buzzers when you hold the button down. My screen flashed green on the side so I unplugged it fast. Now it’s at home charging but won’t seem to hold the battery percentage very long, it’s dying quickly. What the fuck is going on?

Hey everyone, I got a 2021 Sony OLED with 2x HDMI 2.0 and 2x HDMI 2.1

HDMI 2.0 - Empty

HDMI 2.1 (eArc) - Soundbar connected

HDMI 2.1 - PS5 connected

I‘m planning on buying an Apple TV 4k, but I don‘t know if it needs to be connected to an HDMI 2.1 or not and if there are any disadvantages/advantages. Anyone mind helping me out? :)

I hated the sharp squarish, thick and heavy design of the 14 Pro, so sold it within a week and went back to an 11 Pro Max for the rounded edges. Dealt with the crappy camera for awhile. The 15 PM is so much nicer to hold!

Case brand: Torras, clear grey. I like the fact that it’s not glossy clear and has is smoked grey color. Cost: $30. Satisfied with the quality

I need help and am looking for your experiences with the iPhone15...

I recently made the mistake of getting the new pixel8 pro and I HATE it. Nothing works,

• the toggles in settings don't save,
• I cannot get used to this dang keyboard,
• nothing pairs via Bluetooth,
• apps won't open when not on wifi, even when LTE is supposedly working
• there is no microphone for voice to text on the keyboard (apparently there is supposed to be but it just doesn't exist on mine, I'm apparently the unlucky one)
• the screen doesn't allow me to click links or will freeze randomly and is super glitchy
• I toggled off google assistant when the phone is locked but it still responds to me when I'm not even anywhere near it..stupid toggles!!! I can literally go on and on. YES, there are some things I like but if the thing doesn't work for everyday normal use then it's completely useless.

ANYWAY- I'm paying the dang restocking fee to return this stupid thing and the pixel watch 2. I've been trying to pair these two google devices for 3 hours, I'm just done. And instead of throwing them across the room and shattering them (which I would find great joy in) I am instead going to opt for the return.

SO, iPhone15... What do y'all have on it? I haven't heard a lot of good but it's got to be better than this useless POS I'm currently holding. My phone was an iphone11 so I feel like the 15 is going to be a major upgrade which makes the complaints about it not being a major change from the 14 irrelevant. HELP! I'm on my last nerve over here with the P8P.
