I own a 2012 13-inch MacBook Pro and I'm interested in replacing the hard drive with an SSD. I'm unsure if any SSD will work for this upgrade or if there's a specific method to follow.

Additionally, I'm concerned if upgrading to an SSD alone will make a significant difference without also upgrading the RAM. The reason for this is that I currently have budget constraints and can only afford the SSD upgrade right now.

Hey! How do i clean the dust under my Macbook Air 15 Keyboard. It is not an issue but it is annoying. How can i clean it and what is recommended?

i have been using back tap since 13pro, i have set double tap to screen lock and triple tap to Screenshot, since then i have moved to 15pro and still have same issues with back tap as were in 13pro.

some times it works as intented on Gentle taps, sometimes hitting reasonably hard enough also doesn’t trigger the functions, sometimes gently keep phone on desk triggers triple tap. i haven’t found a consistent way of making it work.

i have tapped on regions above Apple logo and on apple logo. Tapping on corner of camera island works the most of the time but still inconsistent

After updating to ios 17.0.3 i noticed i was getting image persistence on my 11 pro.I posted about it here and people told me to wait for ios 17.1 as it fixed many peoples issues with image persistence but even after updating I am still getting image persistence.What should i do? PS:I got my screen replaced with an original about 5 months ago

Hoping to upgrade from my S5 to Ultra 2 later this year, and considering band choices. I think I’m leaning most towards the trail loop, as I used the sport loop on my S5 for a while and liked the comfort and easy adjustability.

I realllllly like how the beige/orange trail loop looks with the case color, but I’m worried that it will get dirty easily when exercising or just wearing day to day. I had the anchor gray sport loop and didn’t have to clean it too much, but never a band this light colored.

Anyone who’s used this band and can give some advice?

Hi, I'm trying to add new faces to my AWSE after the new update, but when I try to add some specific complications through the "Watch" app on the phone, the app just crashes.

One specific example is trying to add the timer complication. It shows as standard a 2 hrs timer, and a "More..." option. If I click the "More...", it crashes. And it has been happening for a lot of the complications I wanted to add. Does anyone know what is causing this or if there is a solution?

I'm such an idiot! Last week I accidentally reset my screen settings, so I jut connected my iPhone to my laptop to restore it from a backup. I glanced at the date of the last backup, but didn't look at the year. It turns out my last backup was exactly one year old and somehow the automatic backups were turned off when I got my current phone, both on my laptop and iCloud. I found out all of this AFTER I installed that backup from last year and now so much is gone. Conversations, loads of pictures.... PLEASE tell me there is some way to restore this! I already logged on to iCloud and it only has pictures from last week.

After spending a decade with MacBooks I stopped undestanding Apple's strategy. I completely forgot about Apple's 'Scary Fast' event, but, being a geek doesn't help to stop my brain from gearing up and trying to quantify the reason why Apple released an M3 Macbook this year. The obvious opinion would be that they want to add it to this year's Mac sales and plan to sell some Vision Pros in the next fiscal year, but other than that I don't see a reason why they would release a refresh to M2 Pro MacBooks that are not even years old. Comparing the new SoCs with prior models doesn't help, because only M3 Max is getting a boost with 12 performance cores vs 8 on M2 Max and M1 Max and 'Up to' 40-core GPU vs 'up-to' 38-core GPU in M2 Max. While M3 Pro now has only 6 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores, compared to M2 and M1 with 8 performance cores. M2 has 4 efficiency cores, and M1 with 2 efficiency cores, but the battery life is still the same. Memory bandwidth is 150GB/s for M3 Pro vs 200GB/s for M2 and M1 Pro. So, M3 Pro is slower than M2 Pro and M1 Pro. Also, M3 is getting hardware ray tracing and AV1 codec support for M3 Pro and M3 Max.

Making a wild guess here - Apple needed ray tracing and AV1 support in a MacBook Pro this year for gaming and creators. But, why would they add new SoC only to the Macbook Pros? Maybe because they are the only models that sell?

I used an M1 Max and M2 Max 14-inch MacBook with 32Gb RAM and 1TB SSDs and didn't notice a difference in performance but was pushing them with 80-90% memory utilization and 60-70% CPU usage daily.

Overall, if you don't plan gaming on your MacBook, get an M2 Pro / M2 Max MacBook and wait for the M5 to make a significant change.

I currently have an iPhone 11 with the Mous Limitless 3.0 and I love the case! It looks good, feels good in my hand and it has protected my phone from countless nasty drops.

I'm planning to buy an iPhone 15 Plus this week. My instinct is to go with the newest version of the Mous Limitless again. But are there any others I should check out? I am familiar with OtterBox and they're great cases, but the looks don't appeal to me.

We got an Apple TV 4K and it automatically is using the same email for the Apple TV+ app. Me and my girlfriend have been using her parent’s Apple TV+ account on the built in LG OS app. I don’t see any setting in the Apple TV 4K to use a different login for the Apple TV+ app.

Been on Android since 2011 (SGS2).

Since then I used a lot of android phones. But it were the last few years which ultimately led to my switch to iphone.

I got disappointed by every android phone I've used since ~2017.

My primary pain point was battery life.

My last resort before the iphone was the Pixel.

I thought "Nice, finally a good android equivalent to iphone (cleanest android, own SoC)"

But holy cow, what a shitshow the Pixel 6 Pro is (and sadly this trend seems to continue up to the latest Pixel lineup).

Battery life is a bad joke on this thing. No joke, the P6P gets hot by simply being connected to 5G, while sitting on idle. Wtf google, just no.

I recently learned that the Tensor Chip is based on Samsungs Exynos architecture (Samsung produces the tensor, it seems) and the Exynos was already such bullshit, that even Samsung abandoned it recently and started using Snapdragons on all their phones, EU & US models.

In March this year, I had the chance to get a 13PM, and I took it.

And oh boy, what a life this is.

I have never been this satisfied with the overall experience before. There are some minor things I miss / find better on Android (like the back-gesture) but none of these points are worth switching back.

Everything just works. Battery life is out of this world. I was used to "battery anxiety", but it's a thing of the past with my 13PM.

Looking forward to future models. I'm not feeling like upgrading rn, the 13 seems to hold up pretty well.

When it came out I charged it once every 3 days now it's everyday. I'm at the latest software. I charged it to 100 percent and left it be not connected nothing for 24hrs a d gone from 100 to 79. Is there something I'm missing like what's going on?

I placed an order a week ago for a MacBook air 15" m2 with 16gb unified memory and 256gb storage, I'm yet to receive it, but I'm wondering on refunding as the new 14" MacBook pro m3 is only £200 more in price, which considering the previous m2 14" is £2100 is a massive decrease, any suggestions on what to do?

PS, the MacBook I've ordered comes with a £130 educational voucher that's no longer able to get if I go with the new laptop

Hello. Recently hooked up my home theater system. With my LG c3. With a brand new apple tv 4k. All apps work and play sound but youtube does not. Any advice?

I lost my original Apple Watch. My husband bought me a new one. Months later I found it. I ended up unpairing my new one and selling it since I didn’t need it anymore. This old watch is still signed in with my Apple ID but won’t connect. It says the password for my Apple ID is incorrect. How do I rest the watch so I can pair it to my phone again?

I’ve been thinking it in the past few days, what are your thoughts and recommendations?

Apparently you could install the 17.03 Beta on the iPhone X, I tried doing it today, but the current Beta is now 17.2, and there's no option to install it now? Only the iOS 16 Beta. Guess they closed it off?
