I was at the store choosing which color I want. Really liked the blue but found an incredible amount of scratches on the back. Is this common for every day use? I assume floor models are naturally worse. This looks really bad.

To add to context to the title. I started not being able to send iMessages via my iPhone 15 pro yesterday. I discovered that I am still able to send them via my MacBook Air.

I’ve reset network settings, restored iPhone, turned off iMessage/facetime, change time zone. Practically everything I’ve seen online to date with nothing working.

I’ve had 2 calls into Apple support and been escalated each time. After the most recent restore they’re told me the next step would be to be escalated to the engineering dept.

Thought I’d ask here before I call again in the morning when they open. TIA

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on what I experienced today. I cracked my front screen and needed to get it replaced. I went through apples website, and made an appointment at a local Best Buy for today at 12:20PM.

The tldr is that there is currently a defect affecting new screens on the 14 Pro Max, and this defect is known to Apple. My phone was in working order when I took it to Best Buy, minus the cracked screen. The prediagnostic test showed that the only issue with my phone was that the screen was damaged. I agreed then to have it fixed, and paid the $379 + tax, which is apples pricing.

When I arrived at 4:30 to get my phone I was told there was an issue, and that it would be a few more hours. I arrived again at 6:30 and was told that my phone would not stop heating up to the point that it was shutting down. Due to this issue, the machine could not certify the part, and now my ambient light sensor will not work.

I worked with the Geek Squad regional manager, and he confirmed that this issue would have happened no matter where I went. There is currently no documentation from Apple about this issue, and the only reason he knew about it was because his area of operation includes PSU, and he has seen it multiple times over the past month.

Apple is sending a brand new pro max that will arrive in 3-5 days. In the meantime, I had to purchase an open box iPhone SE so that I can work tomorrow. I will be returning it once my new phone comes in. I will NOT owe anymore money for the new phone.

My suggestion, if you do not have Apple care and you need a screen replacement for this device, go to a Best Buy or something similar. I am 100% confident that if I would have went through Apple they would not have been so accommodating and I would have had to purchase a new phone.

I ordered a 15 Pro Max Natural Titanium mid September and got it last week, still haven’t bought a case for it. Now Im wondering if I can get the insurance and keep the phone naked. Im fine paying the $269 CAD for 2 years of coverage, but how would it work if I cracked the screen 3-4 times in that time span. What if I want to sell my phone in a year, do I have to sell it with the coverage? If I get the insurance and pay per month can I cancel anytime?

I’ve done some researching and troubleshooting already to no avail

Turned off atmos Deleted song and redownloaded Tried different songs

Still just the standard alarm everytime

Note that I’m using Apple Music but always have so that hasn’t changed.

but i am still using the same old apps i used 5 years ago. it also seems we don't have or need many new fun apps. but the apps still become slowly over time on the old phone, even though they only have the old same features.

the camera is the only thing that's really surprising. especially at night.

In your experience, what has been the most accurate/reliable weather app on the App Store?

I have been using Carrot over the last year (AccuWeather as the source) and have found that it isn't the most reliable at times.

So, I've had my Finewoven case for about 3 weeks. I don't baby my cases, but there's also an expensive phone in there so I'm not just chucking it around.

After three weeks, it's still looking almost new. Slight imprint from the magsafe charger I use every night and every day in the car.

I haven't cleaned it. I've handled it while working on the car (even using the flashlight with dirty hands), my kids have handled it, it's often on the bathroom counter that gets wet. All good.

As for the feel, I personally think it feels good and premium - the back and the sides. For mine, the buttons and cut outs are good.

Is it worth tht price? Well, that's a question for any Apple accessory, but so far, I'm a fan! 😎

I've got a story worth sharing.

So, my 2019 16" MacBook Pro blew a gasket. The Apple Authorized Service Provider determined that I needed a new logic board. When the three-year warranty was up, I debated whether to pay the $136 to extend AppleCare+ by a year: I decided it was worth it—thinking about the screen more than anything else.

Fortunately, AppleCare covered the repair (approx $900). Once that repair was done, they determined there was a problem with the touch bar. To repair that, you need a new body, and my body had a couple of dents; therefore, the warranty didn't cover the whole repair. The charge was $99.

So, I just got the computer back. The latter repair included a completely new keypad, a new body, ports, and because of the design, a new battery.

So by continuing the AppleCare+ and with a total cost of $136+$99, I have basically a brand-new laptop. Even the screen is in perfect condition.

The moral of the story is obvious. I could have ended up considering spending $2000 to repair what I have or buying a new one for $3200 with AppleCare again.

It won’t turn on. The watch gets warm when charged but it won’t turn on. Anything I can do to fix it?

hi all!

looking for any suggestions on the best privacy screen protector for my iphone 14 pro - as in durable but also provides good privacy level (i know some dont darken the screen enough on the sides and people are still able to see whats currently on the phone screen). preferably nothing above the $25 pricing range, and if available from amazon id really appreciate it (as id like it to get here as fast as possible) thank you!

Just updated my S9 to the 10.1.1 update and as soon as the update was complete, I took my watch off the charger and the device was super hot. Should I be concerned? This has never happened before.

i’m looking to get a case for my blue iphone 15, and want a clear case yet don’t want to compromise on safety. is a clear case in general going to do anything, and if not what are some durable yet sleek cases i could look into?

Is there seriously no way to get a warning that your battery is low? I’d rather not use a battery percentage complication and have this info always displayed when most of the time I don’t need it. But now I realize there is apparently no warning like on the iPhone. Has anyone found a workaround?

I upgraded to the 15 pro and then returned the phone and went back to my 14. At no point in time did I ever erase or restore my 14 so all info was intact. Today I can’t find any of my past appointments and super important events in my phone. And when I search for things- it comes up as ‘no results’. There are two other things going on. Occasionally I can look at the event (if I remember the date that it happened and find the event but can’t search it. That’s not always the case). And- when I click on calendars, all of my accounts have a red exclamation point next to them but don’t seem to have login issues and there is no alert statement for me to work out what’s going on. Help… I’m losing my mind as I need these appts as I schedule my life by them! Thank you!!
