bought a used apple watch off ebay. the seller told me it hadn't been used in 3 years so that means the battery is completely dead. will i be able to revive the watch or is it time for a new battery

This might be a stupid question but I genuinely don’t know.

How does charging something using just the wire of a USB C charger work? For instance I can charge my headphones with the wire plugged into my iPhone or an iPad does it work by using the battery of the iPhone to be able to charge the headphones?

My phone is an iPhone 15 Pro Max. After upgrading to iOS 17.1.1 the day before yesterday, there was no prompt when I attached my MagSafe Wallet to the iPhone, and it can't be seen in the Find My app either. It was working fine before the upgrade. When I put the same MagSafe Wallet on a family member's iPhone 13 with iOS 17.1.1, it works normally. Has anyone else encountered the same issue?

What’s the difference between toggle and turn on until turn off?

My Apple TV 4K connected to Sony a80l hdmi 2 and Samsung Atmos soundbar connected to tv earc hdmi3. Native Netflix app on tv can output Atmos signal to soundbar. But Netflix on Apple TV 4K failed to output Atmos signal to soundbar. Tried auto pass through and disabled auto pass through still no luck. The only solution as of now is connect Apple TV 4K directly to my soundbar. Can someone help me how to figure out the correct settings to enable Atmos signal output from Apple TV 4K via tv earc to soundbar? The same configuration was used with my old tv LG GX oled and it was working flawlessly.

Personally my favorite cases are from phone rebel. I honestly don’t know which one to get for the 15 since they are all amazing. What do you think? What’s your favorite case?

My 81 year old father's iPhone 6S has died, so I decided to replace it with a new iPhone 14 Max thinking the big screen will be better for his eyes.

But I realized swiping up from the bottom of the screen to return to the home screen or to switch apps is going to be very difficult for him to learn/remember to do. As his only "Tech Support" I don't want to constantly be fielding calls where I have to keep reminding him to "put your finger at the bottom of the screen and swipe up!" The Home Button is very obvious and he knows to press that, but the thin line at the bottom of the screen, not so much.

I've played around with Assistive Access mode, and I like the big giant "Back" button at the bottom of the screen, but I feel like this mode is too restrictive for him at this point; plus it's a pain to set up every single app for this mode. I wish there was a hybrid mode that gave him full access to his phone, but also gave him a prominent "back" or "swipe to return to home" banner across the bottom of the screen.

Now I'm thinking about trading in the big 14 Max for a smaller iPhone SE to get that Home Button again. But I was just curious if anyone had additional thoughts on keeping the 14 Max?

A couple of years ago I locked myself out of my iPhone 11 permanently emntly as I forgot the code. Think it went into activation lock which I couldn’t open so I took it to a random shop where I think they “hard reset it “ or did something to the iCloud like disconnected it and all my iCloud data was lost/deleted seemingly permanently (that’s what the guy said) but the phone was workable. I want those photos back as very sentimental. I still use the same iCloud address but a new iPhone 13. Is it possible to recover? I do have a MacBook from the same period where the old phone should of synced with.I’ve tried contacting apple support, backing up the data and syncing. Any help would be much appreciated! I’m not very techniqual when it comes to these things, Has anyone got any tips or advice on how to get my data and lost photos back ?

While still in "Pending" erasure status, thief contacts victim and using threats, convinces them to remove the device from their list so that the Activation Lock is disabled.

The phone is obviously now un-bricked and usable by this individual. But besides the obvious loss of the device, what is the risk of data being compromised now?

Wondering what next steps look like here -- are they likely to wipe it themselves? Will the pending request be nullified by removing the device? Will the original users data remain on the device?

I haven't been able to find an answer to this question on Apple Support site. I found this article, but it only states the recommended distance to hold the phone to use FaceID, not the maximum reliable distance...

I have iphone 14 pro max is that worth to sell it and get iphone 15 i am not heavy user like normal games , scrolling media and take some photos it will be big difference between 14 pro max and 15 like i will feel downgrade from pro max or not

so this happened to my screen out of nowhere. what’s the problem? i’m uk based, how much we talking for repairs if there’s no homemade solution?

I am by no means a major creator in any form but I really like it. I like the sound of the butterfly keyboard, I like how light and small it is, I like the speakers and screen. I just love it. The intel core's are not fantastic no and it does slow down, and yes I am constantly worried the heat will eventually be the demise of my logic board but I really would buy it again. (I got this one for $100). I use it more than my M1. I use tableau and excel pretty well on it. The battery is not horrible, especially since my M1 battery really does not last 6 hours or over anymore(idk what happened to it). This little machine was fantastic for the time. If it came out again with Apple silicon I would buy 10.

I have a iPhone X and recently got Apple watch SE 2 as a gift. It has watchOS 10 and it requires IOS 17 and later to pair with an iPhone. But iPhone X can't update to IOS 17. Is there any way to pair this watch to my iPhone? Can I downgrade my WatchOS? It is brand new and is on the 'start pairing' screen.

I'm about to buy an iPhone and have prepared a zip file containing all my photos and videos. My plan is to download everything at once to my phone. Once that's done, how can I save all these photos and videos to my gallery in one go? Any tips or apps that make this process smoother? Thanks in advance!

I really want to use apple tv but a problem I have is that I don't own any apple products yet it asks me for an id when trying to sign up for apple tv.

Am I able to sign up for apple tv and music even If I don't have am apple device or an apple id or am I basically unable to use the service.

Just got a new 15 pro max. Photos are blurry when in motion. Is this a camera issue or just to be expected?

I was just wondering if this is possible, considering devices such as razors controller that plugs into the phone, I would imagine it would be possible. Despite that, I haven’t been able to find anything about connecting an Xbox controller. I’ve been pretty blown away by Resident Evil Village, but it would be nice if there wasn’t so much input latency through the controller
