If I sync my phone to my computer, and then my phone breaks and becomes unusable, if I buy a new phone and restore from that backup, will the photos from that last sync be available on my new phone?

i have an iphone 13 pro max and since tonight i have noticed that every picture i take and every app i open i can see an overlay of my home screen. the apps are very dim but i can see my pinterest app faded as i am typing this since that app is dark. i dont know what to do and i just noticed it today. i restarted my phone and nothing. i took pics of it with my camera but i dont know if anybody else would see it since its in my screen. any help would be great before i go to an apple store.

Just hooked my iPhone up to the Bluetooth in my vehicle. It always automatically uses Apple Music I believe, which I don’t use. So it automatically plays a U2 playlist that came installed on the phone. Is there anyway to make it automatically play Amazon Music? Thanks!

I don't use an Apple TV, I use an Nvidia Pro streamer. I also have a hdd attached. As soon as I unplugged that and rebooted the device, it went back to "better" quality. Way less pixelation, but still not the best.

When it goes to commercials, video quality is fine.

I'd like to use my old iPhone 7 to play music on a stereo system. The battery is essentially shot at 60% health, but the phone would just be kept stationary as a music player - it would be more convenient just to keep it plugged in.

My only concern is that leaving the phone plugged in could cause the battery to swell up. Is this likely to happen? Otherwise, I don't care about the battery health degrading for my use case.

my iphone screen was previously cracked, but has recently failed to the point of being unusable. i am currently stuck at the lockscreen, which is only sporadically visible. i can't unlock the phone because even if the screen is visible, when i go to enter the pin number it immediately fails (almost as if I hit a bunch of random numbers instead of entering in my pin). So as of right now, I have a 60 minute lockout before it will even allow me to try to enter the pin again--which I assume, will just go about as well as before and result in nothing more than an increased longer lockout duration. My fingerprint reader is also busted, though I am not sure that would have helped anyway.

It is an iphone 8 running ios version 15.7.1 and I am able to locate it via find my iphone.

When logging into icloud, however, it won't let me do much. I can erase the whole phone, erase my apple pay, and locate the phone. I can't do much more since the 2FA is tied to the phone, and I can't see the text message.

What are my options in terms of trying not to lose all my saved passwords, files, imessage threads, etc.? There is no way to initiate a back remotely I am guessing, so that I could save everything and them remotely wipe the device?

I do have insurance on the phone, but there is some stuff on there I would want to delete before sending it in. Is my choice just to wipe everything remotely via icloud or send the damaged phone back as is (unwiped)?

Any info, advice, insight would be greatly appreciated.

I've been searching but couldn't find an answer to this. I'm currently using iPhone Xs and I wanted to update to the latest iOS 17.1.1. But updating it through iTunes takes a long time (approx. 7 hrs) because I have a slow internet speed & it needs to download from the server before updating my phone.

1. Can I use ipsw to update?
2. If yes, is it Shift+Update OR Shift+Retore? (Confused with this because I read a lot people mention restore but not update)
3. Will it retain my apps, data & settings? (Since I just want to update, not fresh/clean install)

One of the things I find frustrating with watchOS 10 is that some features block the utility of other features. A lot of this could be alleviated with buttons being able to bypass Focus or Water Lock mode.

Here are some problems:

• When in sleep mode, I'd like to use the Action Button to turn on the Flashlight. To do this, you must push and hold the crown, wait until Sleep Focus is turned off, and then hit the Action Button.
• Likewise the Control Panel is inaccessible while in Sleep Focus without pushing the crown and waiting for the bypass of the focus.
• When doing a swim workout, if the Action Button is set to open Depth, it won't work. The Action button should toggle to Depth, display reading and then when pushed again, go back to the Workout.

Apple should make changes to Focus such that each Focus provides options for different Action Button actions and allow the option of the Control Panel. I can understand some people liking the way it is in order to prevent them from using their watch when they're asleep, but these options would still allow this.

It would allow us to easily have the Action Button programmed to do different things when we're doing different things.

My iPhone 15 PM does not detect a 6GHz WiFi network from my ASUS GT-AXE11000.

I have separate SSIDs for 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz.

My MacBook Pro can detect all 3 SSIDs, but the iPhone can only detect 2.4 and 5.

I reached out to Apple tech support on 10/27. I provided them screenshots of my iPhone, MacBook, and ASUS router.

This is the response I got from Apple’s engineering team:

"Make sure that all routers on your network use the same name for every band they support. If you give your 2.4GHz, 5GHz, or 6GHz bands different names, devices might not connect reliably to your network, to all routers on your network, or to all available bands of your routers."

This is not a solution. Apple needs to fix this problem. Does anyone have 6E working?

As someone who has used android for over a decade and now bought the new 15 pro,are there any features that make it totally stand out against android or any difference in experience I must be aware of?

I just bought a new Apple TV 4K to replace my original version, and it redownloaded all my apps during set up, including ITVX.

No version of this app supports AirPlay, which isn’t anything new. However when I now try to play something on the Apple TV app I’m getting this weird error. I’ve deleted and reinstalled, but still not working.

It was working just fine on the old box I just unplugged; the only different now is the updated model, and I’m using the HDMI ARC port in the back of my Samsung TV, but can’t think why that would throw up this error. Any ideas?

Hey, so for a week or so “Play (song name) on spotify” no longer works for me on my apple watch - it just brings up spotify. Is there any known fix and does it work for you on the latest iOS+spotify? There used to be a fix for this but I can’t seem to find it on the spotify boards, maybe they broke the function with an update this time. I tried reinstalling the app on my watch and restarting both devices. Any information would help - does it work for you?

For me it only opens up the spotify app instead of playing a certain song ;/

I spilled vanilla latte all over my desk and cleaned it up - but my dumb ass didn't even NOTICE that my phone was there until minutes later. It got drenched in coffee. I wiped it with a towel soaked with water, but responded to a text before fully powering it off.

It's been off for the last few hours. I just now read that coffee is corrosive. What will happen to the pictures? Photos are really important to me, and I will die without them.

Is there anything I could do?

I recently purchased a 45mm S9 AW Hermès. However, all 45mm S9 AW Hermès include the M/L version of the orange sport band. I need the S/M size, unfortunately. Is there still a way to get a S/M Hermès Orange Sport Band for 45mm? To clarify, I am talking about the "free" sport band, not the leather band I paid for. I tried the chat with Apple support, but they seemed to be clueless of what I was talking about, and simply suggested me to go to a Hermès store to return it...

Coming from a thinkpad x250 hackbook running monterey, been using it for 2months , I'd say that my experience with macos so far was flawless as for a hackintosh (mainly using fusion360 , sketchup pro, filmora) . Im considering getting a refurbished minimum spec m1 air as my first product apple product (im poor XD) , how better will it be compare to my hackbook and how long will it last for me ?(i need good built quality and rigidity)

Are any third party / non Apple USB C cables able to charge 15 pro Max’s faster than the cable that comes with the phone?

If there is does anybody have recommendations of what to go for?

Is there a way to get an iPhone to use it's speaker on phone calls when charging wirelessly? I use a charging stand all day during work (I work from home), and I always have to tap an extra couple of times to change it to the speaker after I answer a call.

Failing being able to tie it specifically to wireless charging, I'm happy to have it answer on speaker if it's charging using any method...

I'm wondering if I should get an iPhone as my next phone.

I've been on android ever since then,and I was looking at all the improvements iphones have been getting in the past few years since the iPhone 11.

And I would be interested in maybe getting an iPhone as my next phone and trying it out.

Been a Android user for 13 years, 7 years on Samsung Galaxy and 6 years on Google Pixel.

The Pixel 7 Pro suck so hard that it literally drove me mad.

So it was a push factor.

I've been using Whoop's sleep tracker for a couple of years and basic information writes to the Apple Health App under the Sleep section. I'm prepping for a time when I don't use a Whoop tracker and replace it with my AW. To that end, I'm assessing whether to go with the native Apple sleep tracker or that offered by AutoSleep. My confusion centers around information in the AutoSleep user guide indicating one must have a passcode on their AW or key features won't work with the AutoSleep integration.

Is this indeed correct? I've never used a passcode on my AW and don't recall any other App suggesting it's a requirement for App functionality. I can't make the connection between having a passcode on one's AW and sleep tracking sensors/data recorded.

If it's indeed a requirement, is it the same for the native Apple sleep tracker? I don't find any reference to needing a passcode in order for its full functionality to work.

Appreciate the enlightenment around what might be going on with the AutoSleep App and any actual AW passcode requirements.
