Is it just me? I can do pretty much anything without my right hand, double pinch doesn’t even work on third party apps (the ones I use).

Someone posted that they only see regular watches in person, yet here everyone is posting their Ultras. So I was wondering.

There are a few random group chats with myself and 2 other people, all with iPhones, where Person 1 will show as “Dad” and Person 2 will show as the phone number. On my iPhone it says “Dad & Mom”. How can I fix this? I’m brand new to Apple Watch. Thank you!

I was in a hurry and wore some pants with loose pockets. As I got in another car I noticed after a while that I didn’t have my phone. I’m used to having it on me all the time. Usually I put it under my legs so I know where I have it, but when I couldn’t find it I knew something was wrong. I checked my Apple Watches, and surely it told me to drive back to where we went from. Found it on the ground in the snow, shattered. Marks from the spikes in the tires.

I think it’s pretty impressive that it still works though. Heard a lot of hate about the 15 being poor quality, but I am really happy with the quality, and the phone in general.

Is there any way to buy AppleCare+ for an iPhone purchased in Poland, without traveling to other countries?

Amazingly, my launch day apple watch was still serving me well all these years.. however there was some weirdness on notifications so I (stupidly) decided to reset it to 'freshen' it up.

However now when I pair it, it fails with an error of "Your apple watch couldnt pair with your iphone":I am running latest IOS on my iphone, and i tried and got same error pairing with a different phone.

I let the battery run all the way down to see if that would help, but nothing i do makes any difference. is there something else to try, or did i kill my beloved old watch??

My 14 Pro Max is at 16.7.2. Should I go ahead to 17.1.1 ? Pros and cons ? Is iOS 17 really as bad as the internet hype ?

Hi All, coming from an iPhone 13 and I'm noticing that the autofocus on my 15 pro is really slow, it takes 1/1,5 sec to focus while on my 13 was about instantaneous. Both with lens cover btw.
Any of you coming from an older iPhone noticed that delay on AF or mine is just defective.
PS
I can take out the lens cover (I have others spare) but I don't want to do a total reset bcoz a lot of apps and passwords.
Thanks in advance!

My iPhone has been charging normally since I got it. Yesterday it started charging at 11pm and now almost 13h later it’s still not fully charged. I’m using a 10W Apple charger, usually takes around 7h to charge. Has anybody experienced something similar?

Hello dear iPhone users, I have to make a decision I want to switch to iPhone but I don't know should I go with 15 Pro or 15 Pro max. I don't know which one to choose, I like them both. Currently I have 6'7 inch phone and I'm used to it but it's slightly lighter than 15 pro max. I know for 15 PM the new interactive button is hard to reach. On other hand 15 pro I smaller and I never had small phone and it will be interesting experience for me and it's more reachable in my hand. I don't care 15 PM for having 5x zoom. But about battery I don't know their performance does anyone have experience. Will 15 pro can last the whole day because I charge it every night, I don't need my phone to be on 50% in the end of the night and not to charge it.

Thanks.

So, I’m trying to find an cheap Macbook for making an app for iOS. The app will be a very basic back-end client for my custom-made customer management software so I could work on the go. I’m not looking to use the laptop as my daily driver as I already have a very much capable Windows device for that so the specs won’t have to be anything crazy, just enough to run xCode.

Any suggestions?

I do not have access to wifi and would like to setup my new iphone 15 plus but only have very limited mobile data (1 gig left until December 1st) How much of this will be used up to completely set up the iPhone without transferring data? Thanks in advance!

I was checking out the new MacBooks released a few weeks ago on Apple's website and Apple is definitely scamming their consumers hard with RAM and Storage.

From the below images it's clear that the amount of RAM and Storage you get is NOT JUSTIFIED for BOTH prices. Also WHAT SPEED IS THEIR RAM AND SSDs? They're so VAGUE with this info, only telling you capacity and don't even show what speeds they are. Not even the "TECH SPECS" part of the MacBook Pro's website tell you what speed they even are. This is just purely hiding stuff from the consumers, I'm paying over a thousand dollars, I should atleast KNOW WHAT I'M PAYING FOR! This is absurd!

EDIT - Not to forget the fact that these are so called "Pro" machines.

Image 1 - Top of the line M3 Max MacBook Pro costing $4000 AND IT STILL COMES WITH ONLY 1TB of STORAGE? That's absurd.

M3 Max MacBook Pro

Image 2 - Base Model M3 MacBook Pro COSTING $1600 STILL COMES WITH ONLY 8GB RAM and 512GB STORAGE!

I could have sworn I used to have an app that allowed you to install downloaded fonts without having to also install a custom profile? Thanks.

How do you know what version of hdmi a cable is.

I just bought a hdmi cable, it said on the box it supports 4K 60hz but it doesn’t say whether it’s 2, 2a, or 2b.

I have a hdmi to usb-c adaptor that says the same. I went on the Satechi website but it doesn’t specify either.

Thanks

I bought it yesterday, almost on impulse. I’ve done a modicum of research, and decided we should try it. Here’s my initial thoughts after setup and messing with it a couple hours. I’m sure there’s features I haven’t figured out yet.

I selected the Apple TV 4K wireless and Ethernet version for $149. We don’t have a 4K tv… yet. But we most likely will soon. Also, I’m running it wireless for the time being. I’ll be running some wired connections soon, just waiting for the weather to cool off a bit more before I go traipsing through the attic pulling wire runs. So going ahead and getting the wired option made sense for me.

Unboxing was the typical Apple experience many of us have come to grow and love. Nice packaging, minimal paperwork. You get the Apple TV box, power cord, and Siri Remote. If you don’t have an HDMI cable you will need to purchase one. Someone please fact check me here, but I think HDMI 2.1 is the preferred cable.

Setup was easy. Extraordinarily easy. Take the unit out of the box, connect the HDMI cable and the power cord and turn it on.

I kept thinking, “there has to be more to it than that.” Using my iphone to help with setup (prompts come up from time to time), it just worked - connecting to my home network without any fuss or muss and setting itself up to the correct resolution for my old Panasonic 1080 TV. The included Siri Remote, almost magically (I know it’s not magic but it feels that way) just worked to turn my TV on and control the volume without me having to train anything.

After setup one of the first things I did was update the OS to the latest version. That took a few minutes, but it works pretty much just like any other apple device.

I went about the process of adding our family members and creating profiles, and making sure everyone’s phone was functioning as the remote (accessible through control center), and logging into our various services like Apple TV+, Prime Video, Disney, YouTube, DirectTV, and whatever else we have.

And then we played. The kids thought it was great fun to FaceTime using the TV (you use your iPhone or iPad as your camera and microphone) while the party you are connected to shows up on the television screen. I don’t see us using that a lot, but sometimes we FT with relatives so we might..

Using the Siri Remote to switch between apps and navigate the menus is pretty intuitive but I did find myself hopping online a couple times to look up how to do a certain task. I probably shouldn’t admit this, but I couldn’t find the Siri button on the remote and had to look that up. (Spoiler alert - it’s on the right side of the remote). Using the iPhone or iPad remote isn’t hard either.

Speaking of the Siri Remote. It feels good in the hand. It’s a bit small but not uncomfortably so. It has a nice weight to it. This version has a USB-C port for charging. The remote came 80% charged out of the box so I haven’t had to charge it yet. The controls are interesting to use but not complicated. If you have the latest OS you can use the “find my” app on your iPhone or iPad to locate the Siri Remote! With three children in the house, I quite like the sound of that. It’s a shame you don’t get an audible alert though, just a visual indicator on your iPhone similar to looking for your AirPods.

There are a lot of features we haven’t tried (Apple Arcade and connecting a game controller up for example). But we did switch between our streaming apps, played with the photo gallery and some other stuff. Switching between your iPhone or iPad screen and the TV is awesome. I know, it’s tech.. but it feels magical..

My favorite experience of the night was mirroring my iPad screen to the TV. The kids and I looked through some photos and videos of our family, but the real fun was pulling up Google Earth and exploring parts of the planet with them on the big screen.

There’s a lot to Apple TV. More than I realized and I have a lot more to discover. Like this whole HomeKit thing. How crazy do we want to go? Some smart lighting? Sure. A smart thermostat? My nest died a few years ago and I put in a cheap dumb Home Depot contractor special. Maybe it’s time to give Ecobee or similar a go. Cameras, blinds, coffee maker…. The dreams are infinite but the wallet is not. So we have some thinking and planning to do.

I’d also like to cancel our DirectTV. I don’t think we need it anymore. The wife and I are discussing. 90% of what watch is available through streaming services we already have, and the Apple TV just made it extraordinarily easy to access those. The other 10% I think we can either do without or pickup a cheaper option.

And that’s the main reason I bought Apple TV. To see if we could head towards that path. And quickly found out it is so much more than just an avenue to cord cutting.

I imagine I’ll be adding it to our other TV’s soon.
