Hi all

1. iPhone model and iOS version

iPhone 7 running iOS 15. I think its 15.6 but not sure.

2. Purchase date, country and nature of purchase Got it from work in Nov2019 in UK. They never asked for it back. Using it as a secondary phone.

3. What is the issue, how often does it occur and how to replicate it? The phone is not booting. Issue has happened for the first time. I dont see apple logo nor the battery depleted sign. Home button is unresponsive.

4. What caused the issue? Phone was working fine with no issues. I switched it off (43% battery) as was not going to use it for a week. Was stored in a secure locker (cool dry place). No possibility of physical damage. Battery was fine as well used to hold charge. But capacity was not good i.e. had to be charged after 2-3 hours of usage.

5. What did you try to resolve the issue and what was the result? Charged it for an hour using a cable which is able to charge my other iPhone. Tried cleaning charging port. Tried charging on usb vs wall and different wires. Then tried to long press the different combinations of buttons as per apple support website.

Any ideas what can i do? Or get it repaired cheap? I alteast want the data.

My gf bought me this Iphone recently (15 Pro) when I went to visit her in canada, now I’m back in the uk, I’ve noticed that sometimes the device would not register my taps, and sometimes just completely not answer at all, like the app itself would freeze, it would be kinda annoying, went to apple store to replace it and they said they can’t, booked a genius bar, and they said yeah, I can see there’s a software issue, so what you have to do is to reset your iPhone completely clean and not transfer anything while you do the initial setup. My question now is, what about all the data that I have in my iCloud and what not, what about my shared location, will I have to share it manually again with all my friends and ask them to share it with me again too, what about my airpods, do I have to factory reset them I order to connect them again (this is my first iphone, owned an ipad before but never factory rest it to use if again myself after, this on the other hand I’ll have to use it again and resting to solve the software issue) (its also one of the earliest models as well which is kinda sad.. this one is literally created in August (so if it’s faulty faulty, then I’m stuck with it..

Hey there! I have a 2 and a half years old MBA that is not charging... I've tried to leave it charging for hours without luck :(

The thing is I haven't used it for a few weeks and the the battery was depleted. Since then I'm getting this message, even though the battery has only 94 cycles.

Guys, will 512GB SSD be enough? I'm choosing between buying M2 Pro 1TB and M3 Pro 512GB. The 1TB version is not available rn where I live and nobody knows when it will be. From what I've seen, M3 Pro is really better in battery department, which is exactly what I need, plus it have 2 additional GBs of RAM and all other small bonuses.

My work now is online business management, but with new laptop I want to try video/photo editing. Basically it will be editing for personal use or some for YouTube uploads, not some films or weddings. Right now on my windows laptop I have ≈700gb hard drive, 370gb is occupied (realistically 100gb is steam library, which will be not even available on mac and other 50-100gb is very old media or trash).

The last concern is that I've heard the bigger the amount of memory is free - the faster will be swap, and if you don't leave at least a few hundred GBs free - your mac will be lagging. Considering this, the base configuration is definitely not enough. But idk if its true, this will be my first macbook.

I really like this wallpaper and I wanted to use depth effect with it so I used the extend wallpaper option but instead at the top of the wallpaper there’s a black smudge and the background looks out of place

Sometimes I like to do a fresh restart on my smartphones and I was wondering if it can damage them.

If I update my iPhone's iOS through finder, it downloads a large file of 8gb for iOS 17. Does it mean it is reinstalling the entire OS? Is it the same as resetting my phone and restoring it with a backup? I want to try to solve some software issues by reinstalling the entire OS, this is why I ask.

Did you experience burn-in on your iPhone after having always on display turned on (after couple of months) ? I have ip 14 pro but im litte scared to turn on aod... in all phones clock is moving to prevend burning on display but in iphones clock dont move. Did any of you have permament burned clock from using aod ?

I currently have a M1 Air with 16GB. I use the device for development. So stuff like Intellij, Kotlin, Docker, and UTM Vms.

So far there is nothing wrong with this device and it does everything I need, while being completely silent 😁.

I have the upgrade itch and am tempted to get the 14 inch 12 core M3 Pro with 36gb of memory.

Has anyone else done this type of upgrade? And if so, would I notice a big difference in performance? I know the screen is a huge upgrade, but also curious about other aspects.

Hello everyone, my old MBP i7 16’ 2019 was bought 4 years ago off craiglist from his first owner face to face. Recently I had many issues with it and finally it had completely rebooted itself in “Internet Recovery Mode” while I was working on Ps.

Problem is, it requires the apple ID to complete the recovery but the iCloud email shown in that page isn’t mine and I assume it’s the first owner’s. I erased and deleted all his iCloud etc logins when I bought it years ago and I do not understand why it asks his email. I wouldve contacted him to ask but unfortunately I do not have the persons number or contact info either.

I bought a new MBP a few days ago cause it was time to make the switch anyway so I’m good but I’d love to know if there’s anyway I can fix the old one and sell it to be honest. The device still shows in my iCloud devices etc, what should I do? Is it fixable, should I contact Apple? Or should I use it as a very fancy cutting board?

Over the last 6-12 months I’ve been (fairly) religiously logging walks / runs / workouts to see and track various metrics including my VO2 max

Since the end of October, ive had numerous activities but not gotten a new VO2 max reading. HR is being captured fine, inc HR variability & recovery - but not VO2. Anyone know why?

my iPhone 14 Pro got stolen yesterday. It is still in my city and I have two locations where it could be (Sadly locations with multiple apartments). I a) have a six digit passcode (Random numbers; not easy to guess); alphanummeric would be better I know) and b) activated lost mode through a friends phone right when I noticed it (max. 15 minutes after it happened). FYI it was pickpocketed out of my pants pocket and I obviously had absolutely no clue it happened.

The thiefs received the iPhone in locked mode 100%. They also DO NOT HAVE MY APPLE ID (Password)! My Apple ID is secured by a alphanummeric password. All of my accounts (FB/Insta/Gmail etc.) do not show any activity, so they are obviously completely locked out of the phone (thank god). I also did not get any weird emails to my iCloud mail so far. OH AND I ALSO CONTACTED THE TMOBILE SUPPORT AND DEACTIVATED MY SIM! I will get a new one on Monday with my old number (Thank god, some important accounts are linked to it).

My questions are:

Are the never iPhones (14/15 Pro) somehow hackable with some software? Or am I really safe here? And if so is the data still "valid" or "useful" if someone breaks the software that much?

What can/should I do besides letting lost mode activated AND NOT DELETE THE IPHONE FROM MY ICLOUD DEVICES?

How likely is it that police will catch stolen iPhones over time when they have the IMEI number? Any success stories here? I reported it to them yesterday straight away.

Should I change my Apple ID password just in case? It is (as mentioned above) already really safe. I'm afraid my old iPhone might automatically log out if I do so.

My guess: I will probably never see it again. It is just really frustrating because of all of the data that is lost. (I did not do any backup whatsoever in the last year). From what I've read so far online, in my situation under these circumstance, the only thing thieves can do is scrap it and sell the parts right? It's just a complete and useless brick to them as long as they can not reset it.

I opened the app "Home" and it got stuck. Tried force closing but doesn't open.

What am I missing, I got a 60w rated c to c cable, plugged into a 60w port, highest I have got was 21w.

I tried the included cable and it was the same.

I really love wearing my Apple Watch but also think the style of an automatic watch looks better. Would it be silly to wear in both hands ??

I just bought a 77” Sony A80L and Im wondering if the Apple 4K Tv device is necessary to improve anything?

I need a need a new case for my 12 Pro Max. I prefer silicone, the hard, clear plastic looks cool but it’s too slippery. The Apple brand are sold out and I don’t know if they’re coming back for this old of a model. MagSafe would be preferred. Any suggestions? TIA
