What new features or something new overall would you guys want in iPhone 16 Pro/Max?

With all of the discussions about air vs pro, varying RAM/storage, and upgrading chips I'm wondering what factors can be used to argue for an upgrade. Most discussions and videos I see talk about two main use cases: programming and "creative work".

In the next week or so I'll be buying a MacBook to replace my Dell Inspiron 17-3000 series and I feel like a "base" user surrounded with suggestions to upgrade if you're going to use more than 3 tabs and messenger.

I'm a grad student studying physical therapy and my laptop will largely be for school purposes: up to a dozen tabs, my note taking app (notion or I might try obsidian), where I'm taking notes from (a web lecture and PowerPoint imported to onenote), and a couple productivity/messenger style apps. Occasionally I use a 3d anatomy app but generally not for longer than half an hour at time.

Are there metrics outside of coding, Photoshop, and video editing to help me figure out where I fall along the upgrade spectrum? I would like this to last me a couple years into professional work while minimizing cost but man is it hard to figure out what I'll actually need.

Tldr: there should be a sliding scale of a handful of functional activities to help us less computer-literate differentiate between upgrade factors within MacBooks.

I want to upgrade my android and i decided for an IPhone. I did my research and i think IPhone 13 or 13 pro is way to go but they are expensive. I don't know how battery health works so i don't know if that is a big thing and also are there other cons of buying used phone. Also if tour have some tips and your opinions i will be happy to hear. I have already gone in and edited my views to remove all of the other ones, however there is a default view/screen with elapsed time, bpm, average mph, and elevation (info I already get from my bike computer) that it constantly switches to. On a ~40 mile ride this weekend had to flip back to the HR zone screen at least 25 times. It's driving me insane and it's not safe to constantly have to take a hand of the handlebar to fiddle with the watch. Literally HR zone is the one metric I want from my watch on bike rides. I can't seem to find info on making it stop anywhere so I was wondering if anyone on this sub had a possible solution to this. Model 7 btw.

I’ve been on android for some time and one thing that made things super easy and that when I begin to type my email the entire email address gets suggested and I can click on it. I would love to find a way to do this on iOS so I don’t have to constantly type it out, especially on a keyboard that I’m not used to.

I currently use a sort of elastic-y braided band which I find super comfortable for sleeping, but the band stretches to hell after a month tops and I'd like something a bit more durable. I have long hair and I sleep on my arm, so I'd like something that my hair won't get stuck in. I don't find the rubber band it came with very comfortable at all. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Sorry about being so picky!

I only have very old contacts now, and when I go to my list, it only shows iCloud, I do not have the option to click show all contacts. Any fixes? I tried some stuff I googled and no luck. Thanks

I hate the chimes and all that stuff. Wondering if there’s a way to mute all of them permanently - just the noise without manually doing each app and seems like poor design

A few days ago I dropped my iPhone x and it just seemed to turn off i figured it just ran out of charge but multiple hours of charge later and it doesn't seem to turn on. I have a third-party screen so I figured it might have broken but all other things aren't working either-vibration or being called. When charged the phone it heats up making it unlikely the battery is the issue but how come the phone isn't showing any sign of life? Before I buy a new phone, any advice?

Edit: also isn't detected by iTunes or file explorer on my pc

Hi, switching over to iPhone 15PM after being a long time android user. My previous phone had two sim slots so I was able to have two phone numbers set up on one phone. This meant I could receive calls and messages (I had two separate WhatsApp apps too) from both numbers without having to do any switching.

Is this possible on the Iphone 15 PM for me to set one number up as esim and one using the physical sim amd have them both operational simultaneously? I expect having two WhatsApp apps is unlikely but can calls and messages come in from both numbers (sims) without having to do any sort of switching?

So I woke up this morning and my apple watch screen is black. Its charged, was on the charger all night. I can get the haptic feedback if I press on the watch face, etc. My phone says the watch is connected to bluetooth...I can even unlock the watch because I know the areas of the screen where the numbers are..

But I cant see the screen! Its totally black. Any tips? Ive tried the hard reset. Is it dead?

Just ordered the 15 Pro and being a first time iPhone user, I'm unsure on which charger can work with it safely. A certified one, maybe?

I read that it supports upto 25W charging speeds. Alongside this, I also have a OnePlus 8T that can charge upto 65W which needs to be charger with the same adaptor. Would that be a feasible situation?

I don’t know how to word it really, but say a online calculator says my TDEE is 3100 calories a day is there a way looking at my watch to see if that’s likely accurate or can the watch help dial it in more by using resting energy and active energy?

Watch says my avg resting is 2600 with daily active of 716 calories does that mean my TDEE Is 3200ish a day ? For weight loss subtract calories off of that number ?

Does the watch base active calories on my movement and heart rate etc?

I have the SimpliSafe app installed on my iPhone, and I installed it on my Apple Watch.

Then I realized that incessant notifications on my wrist are annoying, so I uninstalled the watch app on my iPhone (iPhone / Apple Watch app), and it disappeared from the list of apps on the watch itself.

However, I am still getting every single notification that Simplisafe sends my phone.

Any idea how to fix this?

I currently live in the UK, where the prices are quite high compared to the US.

I have seen it mentioned in other threads that the prices on the internet do not include the tax, which usually gets added in-store. Is this always true? What if I buy the MacBook online with store delivery?

I am going to NYC, do the taxes change from city to city?

I just ordered a 45mm starlight sport loop and the band had a random blue fleck on it.

It was in there too, like in between the Velcro loops, but I was able to get out with a tooth brush.

Is dust or particles in a new product normal?

I’ve tried restarting the phone and I tried taking out the SIM card and putting it back in, and that actually worked for about an hour, but then it went right back to SOS and is stuck in it again. I can’t text anybody over sms now and can’t get a signal without Wi-Fi . Anybody got any ideas?

I am seriously at the end of the line with the Apple Watch. I just received my 3rd watch, this time upgrading to the ultra, and while I love the size and look and all that, I have a massive issue with this product.

I can't even get 15 seconds into a workout without the watch pausing the work out. I do have some tattoos but my previous apple watches worked much better than the Ultra iteration. I don't understand why apple doesn't just put out an update that tells the watch, hey don't fucking pause constantly during work outs.

It's such bs because if I start a run and don't initiate the workout on my watch, it will prompt me at the end of my run to record the workout, and all the data is recorded perfectly. But if I try to start the run on my watch at the beginning, every 10 seconds it pauses.

Seems like an easy fix to me, just eliminate feature that pauses workouts constantly, there is literally no use for auto pausing a workout, if we want to pause I will look down and press pause.

Boggles my mind they haven't fixed this yet. I've seen some threads on reddit about this but I am curious to know how many others are affected by this issue?

A couple of months ago I was at Great Wolf Lodge (an indoor waterpark/hotel), and I had my watch on in water mode, and my phone was several hundred feet away in my hotel room. While I was at the top of one of the slides, I received several text messages, which is strange because I do not have a data plan for this watch. Is it possible that my watch piggybacked the information for the wifi off my phone, and was somehow able to connect to it that way, or is this expected functionality with the watch?
