Does anybody know how much an IPhone 8 64GB model went for in January of 2020? I can’t seem to find it.

Sorry if I don’t use the correct terms here, I knw enough about video codecs and terminology to make myself look dumb but here goes.

I have an outdoor oriented YouTube channel that I have started and used my iPhone for the first couple of vids, bought a camera and used it for some other vids, but sold the camera and am now back to using my iPhone 14 Pro Max. Generally happy with video quality, although I do tend to find some jittery-ness or smeary-ness. Sort of hard to describe, but when I see other people’s videos that are shot on iPhone and likely transferred from their iPhone to their Mac based computer, I don’t see the same thing. I have wondered if this is due to HEVC and the uncompression or processing of HEVC files natively on Mac is much better than having to transcode them to MOV or MP4 files to play on PC using VLC.

I just shot my first video using the new Black Magic Camera app and really like the features, mainly the better stabilization that has helped on some shots that I would normally see the smeary-ness I’m referring to. But would shooting natively on my phone using H264 keep from seeing that smearyness as I’m not having to transcode separately? Or is the smearyness I’m seeing due to H264 being a slightly older standard for video compression and it’s just losing detail? I will post some examples of my videos in the comments so others can see what I mean and see if they are seeing the same thing or if I’m just nitpicking.

I do light edits to my footage. No special effects. Can this render 4K videos no problem? Anyone own the base M2 and use Lumafusion or iMovie for 4K edits? Or do I absolutely need the 16gb memory. Thanks in advance.

While noot inherently bad, it will increase complexity, and decrease cognitive accessibility.

I’m glad that for a handful of people it will increase their individual freedumbs, it will only make life more confusing and difficult for the rest of the world. Please step out of your small mindset and realize that not everything that’s going to work for you is going to work for everyone and there are already options out there that allow you to do this.

All I plan on doing on it is chat rooms (I like talking to strangers sometimes randomly), watching download movies only (never any streaming or anything), probably reading the occasional free comic book and that's probably literally it. So how old, crappy and cheap can i go if I'm only doing these 3 things?

I want to buy Macbook Air M2 13" inch (16 GB RAM / 512 SSD) from Apple because apparently this spec is only available on Apple website. My Question is, Does Apple ever had any offer or is expected to have any offer this Black Friday ? This will be my 1st apple product, so dont have much knowledge about their marketing.

Basically I bought a watch se and was impatient so I paired it with my relative’s phone, they live with me. Couldn’t pair with iPhone X. Now I realise I have to reset the whole thing to pair with a new phone that isn’t the original I paired to. I bought apple care on it as well. Can I still use the apple care if I don’t transfer it to my own Apple ID? Or do I have to transfer it? Or is it linked to the watch

I currently have the 14 pro (originally coming from android) but need/want something that is bigger and has a great battery. Considering both the pm and the plus, but for me the 256gb versions are only $170 diff. I plan on going into an Apple Store to play around and hold the phones, but what would you do? I’m not sure I really care about having 120 hz or 3 lenses (when the minimum focal distance blur annoys me). However, I feel like for $170 difference is it worth not having the pm features? I do like the option for always on display and stand by, but I never use it on my 14 pro. Thanks in advance!

My mother and I both have iPhones and Apple Watches, I have an iPhone 11 with iOS 17, she has an iPhone X with iOS 16. She wanted to have watchOS 10, so I used my phone to log into her iCloud account and paired her watch to mine. I am currently updating the watch. Now, my question is: if I pair her watch back to her phone, will it go down to watchOS 9?

It’s something that happens when I put a black picture on the iPad screen, and I turn the iPad brightness all the way down, and what I do in the video, this happens. I’ll put a link for the video of what I do.

I've had the Apple Watch since the very beginning. I know full well how to charge an AW. I upgraded at last to the Ultra one month ago. It has worked flawlessly, till this morning. I noticed my charge was down to 31%, so I popped it on the charger. It dinged and showed the green charging icon. I left it alone for an hour. When I came back, it was still at 31% and still showed charging. So I removed it, then put it back on the charger, green icon, ding, etc. I stayed to confirm it showed it was charging. Left for an hour, came back, still at 31%! So I reset the Ultra. Now, however, it seems to be charging very slowly. It took four hours to get to 100%, which is not normal, right? Anyway, should I contact Apple or is this within normal parameters? (EDIT: I am on WatchOS 10.1.1.)

I ordered a pulled lcd display for my macbook A2337 M1. When i replaced the screen, my macbook was suddenly dead. No power or anything. So i replaced the screen back to original and all a sudden the macbook started working perfectly fine again. I think the guy who sold me the screen, has sent me the wrong display for other model. How do I find out which model of MacBook this display is suitable for?

I swear to god I’ve been through over 5 lighting cables in the past 3 months.

Why are they made so poorly/easy to break?

This is one of the main reasons I am getting a Samsung next phone I get.

Hi! So in my country, the 14 pro and 15 plus are about the same price and I have been thinking of upgrading my iPhone 11 but I really can't choose between the two. My budget is around both of these phones' prices for the upgrade but I'm torn about which one to get.

Been reading a lot of reviews and posts here on Reddit but I still can't decide. The pro has the telephoto lens and 120hz which sounds amazing to me since I am a MOBA game player and love mobile photography but I heard the battery is not good. The plus has a bigger battery, bigger screen size, and the new camera software but the 60hz display is such a bummer. Also, I really don't care about USB C so it's really not a dealbreaker. I know I could opt for the 15PM but the budget is tight rn lol so I'm basically stuck between the 14pro and 15plus :(

I was at the Apple Store today to get a new battery (for some reason it says it can’t detect if the battery is Apple approved), and the technician tried to get me to buy a new phone telling me I won’t have cell service in a few months because everything is switching to 5G and anything below that won’t work. I told him I couldn’t afford a new phone at this time, but wanted to know if this is true or not?

As stated above my 14 PM has randomly decided the last few days at random times to freeze/lag and then become unresponsive?the only fix I have found was to hard reset my phone, Is this something others have experienced or is this only when opening random apps(side loading) causing problems? Thanks sir your insights!

Every 12 to 18 months I polish mine (stainless steel variants only) with jewellers-grade compound and a basic Dremel-like power tool. I decided to hand down my Stainless Steel S7 and gave it touch up and documented my stages for others: Apple Watch Dialux Polishing

What's fun at the moment is I downgraded to an old Aluminium Series while I wait for my next one to ship. What a difference going backwards! I love the aluminium at the gym, but I will forever be a fan of the raw stainless steel variants for this reason.

I never use a case, I work in the trades and wear this into the salty ocean and gym pools very often. If my watches can survive your's can too.

I think the Stainless Steel is the best, but I love the aluminium at the moment. There's no bad options really, but if you own a raw stainless steel version, you might want to check out my before and afters:
