A few little points I'm looking into before I decide to switch to iPhone and one of those is a back gesture. My current phone is set to swipe from the right side of the screen to go back. What are the options on the iPhone without having to reach all the way to the top of the screen where there's usually a back button on the page. I don't mean changing apps. I mean going to a previous page. Is there a swipe gesture available?

The M1 MacBook Air is a fantastic computer at an excellent price when you consider its power and battery life. Apple tends to provide major OS releases to its computers for 6-7 years. Considering that the M1 MacBook Air has been out for 3 years now and is still for sale, what are the implications for someone if they bought an M1 MacBook Air today? Will they only get 3-4 years of major OS releases?

If that's the case, is there an argument to be made to just pay a little extra and get the M2 MacBook Air so as to get a couple more years of major IS releases?

I was playing COD on my iPhone 12, the screen was off except for the sound and it suddenly went into a bootloop. I tried updating to the new ios using iTunes, I got the swipe to recover data screen and after that my lock screen flashed for like a second and again went into the bootloop.

When I'm trying to upgrade it again it's throwing a Error(9). I am not able to upgrade it and asking me to restore.( But I need that data on the devide)

I tried using tools like 3utools, irepair and others but they fail at like 20% something.

Heard that it's a pretty common thing. I'm posting this to get some help from this sub.

I need a good back which should be water resistant and also protect my macbook against impact. Where should I look into? I am seeing very limited official options on apple.com.

Not sure if this one is even possible, but figured that you guys are most likely to know the answer. I'm looking for a chest-strap HR monitor that will natively feed into an active workout in the standard workouts app.

The reasons for the requirements:

- When doing exercise, I'm noticing that, regardless of effort level, the watch HR sensor comes in around 30-40BPM less than I'd expect in any circumstance where my arms are significantly above my heart (usually overhead or chest press weight activities).

- Part of the reason for pushing on this kind of thing is the integration with my health insurance app (Vitality, UK) (more activity = more benefits), but this only works for workouts that are generated by the workouts app. Anything that's a 3rd party app that imports doesn't feed across (which is a major pain for things like Strava and MySwimPro).

Most of the straps that I've seen seem to push down their own app, which obviously won't do for the needs.

Alternatively, if there's a way that I can make the watch sensor more accurate, or a confirmation that it's actually the case, I'd be happy with that too!

Just bought a new iPhone 14 Plus and seems the battery is draining a lot , contrary to what I read in reviews of it having a great battery life .

Now in android , you can check the SOT directly but seems ios does not provide this !!!

Any idea how to get SOT as the battery setting in iPhone shows the last 24 hours usage which is of no use for SOT calculation and which gives the info on how the phone is handling the usage .

Dear iPhone 15 Pro (Max) users! I am currently in the market for a new device and i consider the iPhone 15 Pro (Max). The last months were full of reported issues (like screen retention, device overheating, etc).

Which problems have remained and which have disappeared with the software updates? Would you recommend this phone?

My mic wont work when i try to use siri receive or send phone calls but if i make a phone call with my bluetooth in my audio goes through, but even with bluetooth i cant hear anything if they call me

Wife and I are on update to latest iphones and watches on same wifi and sam phone carrier. Lucky if walktytalky works once out of 10 tries even on wifi. No probs w/ Factetime, texting, or other comm aspects.

Checking in to see how this may be working for others and improved.

okay, long shot here. from a dumb human.

I've bought a new iPhone, and instead of using the feature of transferring from one to another right away, I tried to do a backup to a Mac. Turns out the other one had little available storage (about 8 GB, which is insane to think it's little), and while it was in the process of backing up it entered the infinite apple screen loop.

me being me I do not have the content saved anywhere, I had it on a Mac but had to delete it in September and so far have not been able to do another one.

is there any way to recover my files? Especially my photos and videos. since 2014...

I'm devastated. If someone has a tip that helps it will be appreciated.

How do I get all of the Gmail contacts to my iPhone contacts? I’m trying to sync contacts to iCloud but Im assuming it’s not working because the contacts are showing up under Gmail not my iPhone. And yes, I had tried checking contacts under iCloud settings and all it does is syncs the one contact that is listed under iPhone contacts.

This happened yesterday. I picked up my FIL from the Airport yesterday, he was limping on the left side which was unusual considering he is in a decent shape. He had not eaten for 6-7 hrs so we thought this could be low blood sugar. We made him eat some food, but he still felt weakness in his left side.

My wife put her AW8 on his wrist and ran an ECG. AF was detected, we ran another ECG after 15 mins and still the same result.

We rushed to a cardiac specialist. The doctor ran an ECG and 2D echo and confirmed AF. He was admitted to the hospital and after some more tests, a stroke was confirmed. The AW detecting an AF alerted us and possibly averted what could have been a major health issue.

I am glad we had the technology available and made good use of it. Thanks Apple !

I have the iPhone 12 and I wonder if anyone else has this issue or can help me.

To transfer photos to my PC, I plug it in via USB and on the computer I navigate to the phone photo folder and copy them over to the computer.

However, commonly, if there are a lot of photos on the phone (eg 500), not all of the photos will show up in the photo folder to be able to copy them on the computer.

I end up having to manually delete some photos on the phone (the ones I can see in the folder from the computer) which then allows the other missing photos to appear in the folder.

This process is annoying and I'm wondering what I could do so that all photos show up in the folder, so I don't have to do the workaround process?

For some reason, I faced an issue with my new iPhone today (been about a month since purchase), where it suddenly got stuck on max volume.

Attempts at both decreasing the volume via (1) buttons and (2) control center were ineffective, where it would after a split second, increase to max volume by itself again.

Restarting the phone solved the issue as of now, but does anyone have any clue as to why this might’ve happened?

It combines home button and island together is the design good?
