Presumptions:

• Apple didn't want the footage to look like recorded on a phone so that viewers are positively surprised when seeing "shot on iPhone" at the very end,

• Apple didn't want to use any 3rd-party lenses so that people think they can get the same look if they buy an iPhone (sure, not the movement because of all those drones/gimbals/dollys, but image quality).

The distinctive "shot on a phone" look comes from very fast shutter speed. The result of a fast shutter speed is that every frame is sharp (so if you pause the video, everything is sharp). The "cinematic look" can be achieved by lowering the shutter speed (so called "180 degree shutter rule"). This way you get that pleasant cinematic blur.

The problem is that when you lower your shutter speed this much on an iPhone, you get extremely overexposed image. The only solution to that is using external ND filters. Apparently Apple didn't want to do that so they cleverly made use of Halloween to shoot at night and avoid this problem.

I was watching youtube with airplay on my apple tv a while back and theres a video I wanted to find but dont remember the name. Is there a way i can go look through a history of what ive streamed to my apple tv? Or is it just a streaming method and thats it?

I have an iphone 14 pro max 512gb. Suddenly it no longer accepts my unlocking passcode. The password is the same, I haven't forgotten it. But suddenly it tells me the wrong password. I tried the password about 5-6 times. It is not blocked to the point where it tells me to erase the whole phone. I have no backup made on the phone, neither in iCloud nor in iTunes. Is there any way to recover data from the phone? i am interested about my photos. Thank you very much.

Just ordered the 15 pro max , natural titanium, 1 TB, with apple care. So excited!!! What cables are you planning to use to charge your phone? Are you buying the USB 4 cables (that support 10gbps transfer speeds?)

I have ADHD and I'm very forgetful of my daily standups and getting in trouble in work.
I phone does send me push notifications but I miss them and would prefer my alarm to go off.

I also keep my phone in DnD or silent mode 100% of the time so I need it to bypass this.

At my university we’re using a vpn to access the library network from outside the campus. In order to use the vpn, we have to edit a part of the code of this certificate and add our username and password.

On windows you can just edit it with NotePad++, but on iOS/iPadOS I haven’t found a way yet.

Can anyone recommend an app to do so?

iPhone 12 Max Pro, iOS 17.1.1. This error started occurring after changing from Verizon to AT&T. It occurs when trying to send a jpg to a Droid user. I have tried all the fixes that I can find on the net. Everything works as expected when sending to iPhone users, except when including a Droid user in the group. Any insight is appreciated.

Finally, got the new m3 macbook. I can telll for sure. This thing is powerful (Snapy).

My 2019 13” MBP (Intel) is confirmed dead. At least the logic board and touch ID needs to be replaced. The Apple Service centre has quoted an eye-watering $830 (converted from local currency, Indian Rupee).

Is it worth replacing the parts or buying a new M* makes more sense? 😓😥

I bought iPhone while I’m stationed out here in South Korea, and I am having a lot of trouble adding AppleCare to the phone. I was told by the Apple rep to change my address and iCloud back to the US to be able to add AppleCare and that has not worked and I’m not sure what to do, but take the iPhone back. I’ve been working with them for two days now.

Pretty much what the title says, I just returned my new m3 pro MacBook because I realised I didn’t really like how the black colour looked like in real life after using it for like 2 days, anyways I returned it back to apple under the 2 week policy and I’m waiting for a refund, my question is if I payed for the yearly 99.99 apple care subscription will it get refunded as I get refunded the money back for the laptop as well or do you need to call apple and ask for a refund,I cancelled the subscription but it still shows as active when I go to my settings though I read somewhere that if you cancel Apple Care within 30 days it gets automatically refunded, is this true? Thanks.

My first post here. I wanted to share my recent experience with the 15 Pro and want to figure out if it's just me who feels like the screen is not that good compared to the older model. Let's get straight to the point.

I upgraded from a iPhone 11 Pro to a iPhone 15 Pro on 12 nov 2023, but I immediately noticed the viewing angle is (perceived as) a step back compared to my 11 Pro. When you look straight at it, nothing is wrong with it. But when viewing in an angle, the 15's seem to be dimmer than the 11 Pro. Also, there are slight hue/color variations. But that's what's to expect according to an Apple Employee I spoke about yesterday at the Apple Store, due to hardware variations by the different manufacturers they use for the screen.

Today I received my second 15 Pro so I can compare. But there's no significant improvement compared to the the other 15 Pro I received earlier. So that makes me think, are my expectations too high or has anyone else noticed the same thing?

Also did a hard reboot/reset on all phones using volume up, volume down, holding power button until the device reboots and the Apple logo appears again. Funny enough, for both the 15's that gave a little bump in brightness. Out of the box they are a little dim, even at 100% brightness.

Purchased movies only plays on standard HD.

But series on Apple TV+ has Dolby Vision playback enabled but Dolby Atmos is not enabled even though my device supports it.

I have spent around 1 month with my current AW and i appreciate its capabilities but i find it quite pointless to wear it inside the house unless i am sleeping.

So I was curious what does the community use the watch for when they are wearing it indoors ( and not doing any physical activity ).

Hey - We are going to take the plunge and get my daughter an iphone for xmas. I don't want to buy her a brand new one in fear she will lose it since it is her first one. I was thinking a refurbished one off Amazon. I've never bought a "used" phone before, and my understanding is I can buy any phone I want and then take it to any carrier I want and have them set it up with a sim card and a cell plan.

Is this correct? I know this is a dumb question.. but I've turned into a total luddite with technology...

Any advice on buying a used iphone would be welcomed. Thanks in advance!

Series 4. I have reset and reinstalled the watch twice now. This started with the last OS upgrade. Over time, the storage becomes full of music. The music app is set to NOT sync any music.

Watch nags every 15 minutes that storage is full. I have wasted a couple hours trying to correct.

Is it beyond repair? The phone (13 Pro Max) just dumps about 5gb of music into the watch no matter the settings; this makes the watch unusable.

I don't know why I'm having this issue, must have changed something in my settings.

Basically, I was promoted by the app store to put my password in when I wanted to download the Amex app. I'm confused because I should have it set up so that I just have to double press the power button and use face id.

Anyone know where in my settings I have it set up wrong?
