tldr: having “hey siri” enabled on both devises will lead to them getting in each other’s way.

So Siri is pretty much useless. But I really enjoy the sound and size of the HomePod mini, and as useless as Siri is, she worked fine as a light switch/timer setter. That is until I upgraded my phone.

See, before I had a HomePod, I disabled “hey siri” from my phone because I don’t like using a smart assistant while I’m outside my home. But obviously I speak to my HomePod as that is how you control it.

Well, when I upgraded my phone, I left the “hey siri” on because why not. Well lately Siri has been absolutely AWFUL, I mean 100% useless. She would turn on, and immediately turn off, never to respond or do what I asked.

Well as it turns out, when I would say “hey siri”, both my phone and my HomePod were registering the call, but they would both sort of hand over the command to each other. As if they were saying to each other, “oh you handle it”. This would lead to neither taking on my command or request.

So I went back to disabling Siri from my phone to “fix” the issue. But i just wanted to put this out as a warning to the dozens of us who actually use Siri daily on the HomePod, don’t ask her stuff with your phone nearby.

I’ve always worn a watch on my left wrist, but on the inside of my wrist. Unfortunately lifting my wrist to see my Apple Watch doesn’t wake it up. I would think that a very small bit of code would make this work.

Never really found much use for it, but I realized today I probably haven’t used it in a month lol

Sometimes a film's iTunes Extras description will say: "Contains a, b, c, and more!" Why doesn't it list every single extra? I'm specifically trying to find films with audio commentaries, but it seems like it can be a toss up when purchasing a film. And sometimes the blu ray bonus features don't line up with the iTunes Extras. Is there a way to know all of a film's iTunes Extras? I just want to know what I'm buying.

I have seen lots of people using Apple Pay on their phone. They put it up close to the card reader and the money transfers. I’m wondering If I can do this on a IPhone 7 Plus

I had my iPhone 13 pro since the launch and had its battery replaced once under apple care+ not because the battery was failing but because I smashed the phone completely and had to have the rear side replaced entirely.

So luckily when I switched to iPhone 15 pro from iPhone 13 pro, I still had a 100% battery health on my 13 pro.

I had big expectations when I upgraded… but I am noticing so much overheating and battery drainage on my new iPhone 15 pro. I can confirm that iPhone 15 pro battery goes down faster than my iPhone 13 pro given that both have 100% battery health!! I am doing the exact same things and I don’t know why this newest phone is being so problematic. It burns like crazy randomly, too. I haven’t found out a trigger, but this phone randomly decides to become a hand warmer and it just makes me get worried about the further battery health decline.

Another minor annoying thing is, and I am actually unsure if this only applies to me, but the rounded edges are very uneven on my iPhone 15 pro. The small gap between the side panel and the rear panel don’t flush completely and this part keeps on getting caught in my hand / scratching my palm and it’s driving me crazy. Maybe this is because I’m too used to the edged sides of my old phone??

What are your experiences? For those who jumped from 13 pro to 15 pro, I want to hear your thoughts.

Ok so it looks probably closest to this, kind of like a black hole but all white/bluish white with the Apple logo in the center. It’s happened like 4-5 times over the last month or two and, while it’s nice to look at, it’s very confusing lol

Lasts probably two seconds, not associated with any notifications that I receive, and it’s not like the “ring closed” animation. I’ve turned screenshotting on in hopes I can catch it but no such luck thus far.

I've been getting a lot of spam phone calls, have had problems with them instantly getting sent to voicemail with unknown caller block turned on, anyway to have unknown callers vibrate , and contacts to a ringtone? while still keeping my text tone as is, thanks

So I have recently replaced my iPhone 12 Pro back glass no problem. My gf broke her back glass on her iPhone 14 Plus. am I able to put a new back glass on? I know they have the metal plate attached to the glass so I was wondering if the flash had a serial number paired to the motherboard or something like of the sort that would stop me from putting a back glass on from a different iPhone. Any help for you much smarter than me apple lovers would be much appreciated!!

I just got my Macbook in the beginning of this month. It's the newer Macbook Air 13.6" with an M2 chip. Just recently it has began to freeze up only letting the mouse move around and freezes as soon as seconds after booting up. I keep having to use the power button which I know is not particularly great. I checked CPU and actually uninstalled a few of my games (I have a few light steam games, all gone now) and noticed spotify was the only thing taking any energy to run at all (which was barely anything) so I turned it off. I used MalwareBytes to check for any viruses and the scan came up fine. I'm not really sure what to do? It's very frustrating since I use my macbook for schoolwork and entertainment and constantly freezing up is ineffective for that lol. Please let me know if there anything I can try to fix it :) Thanks!

I currently have the X (6 years strong), but It’s time for a long overdue upgrade. I’m stuck beyond belief between the 15 pro max and the 15 plus. I know they both will feel like massive upgrades but my dilemma is that I love the idea of having a great pro model device for the next 5-6 years, yet what people say about the 15 plus battery intrigues me so much. In terms of the 120ghz vs the 60, I can definitely tell the difference but would definitely get used to either one. If anyone has input that might help make my decision it would be really appreciated!

Every night I check my calories burned for the day after midnight and record the amount. Then, oftentimes when I look again the next morning the amount has changed by like 20-100 calories usually. Any ideas on what is causing this?

Hello. I have an iPhone 13 that I bought. It doesn’t turn on, it doesn’t get recognised by laptop and doesn’t show any indication when charging, but the only thing it does when plugged into a charger is that I can hear very quiet high pitched hissing sound from inside the phone. When I first plug in the charger the sound is very small and it can be heard in ticks ( silence “tick” silence “tick”) like it’s trying to block electricity and over time the sound changes patterns and can be heard constantly. I also learned from the person I took the phone from is that when plugged into a charger for a while the phone gets hot. Might be a component in the motherboard that is getting hot when charged for a long period of time and I don’t want to repeat that because it might destroy the phone more. I want to learn repairing phones so Iam looking for answers of how to start troubleshooting. I suspect the fault being from the motherboard. I want to know how to get to the problem rather than just knowing what the problem is, though I would appreciate if anyone knows what the sound indicates. My question is, where and how do I start troubleshooting the motherboard.

I plan on using my iPhone 15 pro without a case this year, that being said I did pay with a chase card. Should I get AppleCare+ in my situation?

I was transferring my data from my old phone and my old phone got a notification and I by accidentally clicked on it while my phone said it was preparing to update. It was almost done but still it wont load up. Is this supposed to happen?

I fucking hate it. What is happening at Apple. Exercise and activity settings. Quick access to sleep, theater, flashlight modes and more gone. Making the thing harder to use.

Bought Apple Watch Ultra 2 on eBay. I added a cellular plan and everything worked good, but now a month later I can’t get cellular network at all despite being off Wi-Fi and completely away from my phone. I check the settings and I see this. How do I correct this or am I screwed

Recently I thought it would be useful to register my left thumbprint in addition to my right one (I am right-handed), as I sometimes need to turn on my iphone with my left hand.

I did not expect that every single app that requires my thumbprint to log in would then require me to re-register my thumbprint from scratch simply because my biometric information has changed, even though my right thumbprint is still registered. For some apps this was fairly simple, but in other stricter apps this is quite a hassle. I would not have bothered to register my left thumbprint if I knew that I needed to do all this.

So if you're thinking about registering your non-dominant hand on iphone biometrics in addition to your dominant hand, please bear this in mind before you do.

Was on a Ft call and then all of a sudden bottom half of screen is brighter than top half of the screen, its so weird, like a straight line halfway horizontally across the screen where 1 section is brighter than the other. Sometimes the bottom brighter section flickers a bit too.

Did not drop it or anything and ive never had any display issues before. Already on latest update, turning off and on does nothing, Does not show up in screenshots, any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else? I just checked my warranty too and it says expired cause I bought it when it launched last year on Sept :(
