My iPhone 15 Pro has been working fine since launch. Today I got a prompt to update to 17.1.1, so I installed it. After the update process, it went to a "Attempting data recovery" screen for about 20 minutes. After that, it went to my home screen, and then informed me that I have an "Apple Pay Issue"

Your iPhone is currently unable to use Apple Pay.

Clicking "Learn More" tells me to contact Apple support. I have tried, and got a total idiot (sorry for being harsh, I'm pretty frustrated right now) who just told me repeatedly to contact the Apple Pay billing department.

The iOS 17.1.1 release notes say "In rare circumstances, Apple Pay and other NFC features may become unavailable on iPhone 15 models after wireless charging in certain cars"

Except the opposite has happened to me - my phone was working fine, and now after a "fix" was deployed, I suddenly have the exact issue that was mentioned.

Anyone else experience this?

I love my Apple Watch Ultra, but I hate the fact to track my sleep I have to put it into sleep mode and I don’t get information on recovery etc.

did apple do something ? for some reason everybody's ipad or iphone batery drained when turned off

Well this is weird.

It seems I'm having a situation with my Apple TV 4K. If I play any source in Dolby Vision for example Mandalorian through the Apple TV (Disney+), the TV will show it as an HDR signal. But when I play the same source directly through the Disney+ app on the TV (Google TV), it shows up as Dolby Vision. I also noticed that on the Apple TV under Format I do not see any Dolby settings, only HDR and SDR. The TV is a Philips 75OLED808 connected via eARC to a Samsung soundbar. I would appreciate any tips, thanks!

Is there no post-call screen to indicate that the call has ended and give you options to save/block/message/call the number you just spoke to? It just disappears as if nothing happened.

I have found myself losing connection/ getting hung up on and there is no indication that the call has ended other than the disconnect sound (that I didn't know was that sound for some time).

I am getting this message and I don’t know what it is or how to remove it. I have clicked on “OK” and “show in finder”. It pops back up. No way to close it. And I can’t find anything on the internet about what this is. Any ideas and where I can I research how to resolve this problem?

Can anyone help me decide if I should get 13ProMax (certified refurbished) from apple as I’m getting a good trade value for my iphone 13.

My watch updated its OS overnight. Which is fine.

But the updated version seems to have done away with the ability to ‘lock’ the watch during a workout? Has it gone away? Or is there another way of doing this in the new OS?

Locking was a handy feature for me when I’m weightlifting as I had a habit of pausing the workout inadvertently whilst wearing wraps or such like.

I recently updated to IOS 17.1.1 on my iPhone XS and I have noticed it struggles to load some apps or even crashes. In particular, Safari has become slow at loading and Waze simply crashes. I have force restarted the phone however that still hasn't helped and all the apps are up to date. Anyone got any tips?

If you had a 1-year-old 14 Pro and had the option to trade it in and pay £120 for a brand new 15 Pro, would you do it? Both phones are contract free, unlocked etc.

Are there any stand-out features this year that are worth £120 in your view?

Since in WatchOS 10.2 the ability to switch watch faces with a simple swipe left or right has been resurrected, (and Thank you very much by the way) there are now really only three changes to WatchOS 10 overall navigation that would change the OS 10 release from one that frustrates many Apple Watch. Users, to one that very much pleases them and gets them very excited about it.

A. Side Button single press function choices:

1. App Switcher
2. Control Center

B. Swipe Up function choices:

** Presently this presents the Smart Stack. I would argue that many users, especially Series 9 and Ultra 2 users, since they have the double-tap functionality to open and navigate the stack, would be completely satisfied using either a double-tap gesture to open it, or the up rotation movement of the digital crown.

C. Choice (as on iPhone, iPad and Mac) of “Light” or “Dark” mode

** this is the least important priority of these changes.

Yesterday evening I saw an alert on my phone that an NFC device was identified near me. I tap it, and it showed me the serial number of an AirTag (which I didn’t think to screenshot), and the associated phone number for the tag were the last four digits of my phone number. So I tapped identify and it couldn’t find it. Now under find my in the AirTags tab, it shows a link identify found item. I tap it, it searches but can’t find anything. All of my and my wife’s AirTags check out and have checked in recently. I did a hard restart of my phone but the link is still there afterwards.

Any suggestions?

Hi everybody. Apple Watch SE2 owner here. Ever since i started training muay thai one month ago my vo2 max and cardio recovery have dropped from above average to below average(I am 21). It doesn’t make any sense to me because my vo2 max has always been above average and should be even higher since I started training muay thai. Even before starting muay thai I was pretty active individual(4,5 gym sessions a week,above 10000 steps everday). I don’t wear my watch during muay thai training and I put it immediately on after training so maybe that has something to do with it. Any type of help would be appriciated,thanks.

I'll be getting the Macbook Pro M3 in a few weeks and am unsure how much storage I should get. I'm a graphic/web designer and photographer, so I have a lot of images and Adobe files (Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom).

My current Macbook is 1TB and I have 350GB available, but my photos library is about 450GB so I have to keep that on an external drive. I want my new computer to have enough storage so that I can keep everything on my computer.

I've had my current Macbook since mid-2015, so I'd like to have this next one for as long as possible too. For longevity purposes I was originally thinking 4TB, but now I'm wondering if I'm overestimating how much storage I'd need and I should just get the 2TB. Currently I'm using about 1.25T of storage, so is 2TB too small if considering longevity? (3TB would be the sweet spot but that's not offered.) Thanks!

My sister is an avid Apple user and has asked for a wireless 3-in-1 charger for the upcoming gift giving season. Did my research and found the belkin magsafe 3-in-1 to be the best, and on sale. Also found a highly rated non magnetic belkin. Just as I'm about to purchase I remember she uses a pop socket.

Would the magnetic charger work below the pop socket? I'm not sure precisely where they are located, or if the back is entirely magnetic? Would the non magnetic be a better option? Or is she going to need to remove the pop socket for wireless charging regardless?

Ive had this Iphone since December 2018. I’ve loved this phone since I got it. Good battery, perfect size, decent camera, fast… Which brings me to my question. I updated to the most recent software and this thing lags every time I basically switch to a different task or just every minute or so doing whatever I’m doing on it. It is so incredibly frustrating. It completely started doing it right after the update. Any ways to revert back to old software or anything I can try to fix the lag? Appreciate it, and fuck you apple, I don’t care about a titanium phone I still have this one from 2018!!

Looking to upgrade my watch from an SE to a series 8 or 9. Does anyone know of any Black Friday deals going on next week for either of these models? Since it’s the season, I’d like to at least try to save some money.

I just ordered this combination but I feel like that pictures on the website didn't really do it justice. I usually go with black on black (or midnight on midnight) but I wanted to change it up and get something with contrast.

For those who have seen/own this combo, does it look good or did I make a mistake?
