I'm on a 14 pro max, I tether internet via cable on the go as it give's me a faster speeds.

Will the USB-C on the 15 make a difference?

i’ve tried everything a person that knows nothing about tech would reasonably try. i cannot get my macbook to charge. it already only charges from the left bottom port and that’s been since day one. pls help, i’m dumb.

After the most recent update, my stair counter is WAY off, I’ve done none today.

So last night I started a workout in “other” category at 11:20 to get the last few minutes of exercise that were missing from my green ring, but I was quite drunk so I forgot about it and fell asleep without ending it; it was only ended when the battery died at 11am. And I could just let it be, it’s already done the job of cheesing my rings for today, but I ultimately don’t want to see this stupid spiders-georg outlier screwing up my stats forever, so is there a way to reduce the duration of the workout after the fact? Deleting the whole thing is a bit of a nuclear option since it would unclose yesterday’s green ring

Or would the raw data already have been deleted so there’s no way for it to recalculate and this outlier is here to stay?

I have a vacation home I’m going to in the Bahamas. I bought an Apple TV to set up there. Will my account be ok with setting up another Apple TV that far away and abroad? I’m from the US.

I'm reading that the 15 Pro can take up to a 30s long exposure in night mode. Does anyone know if the regular 15 can do a 30s exposure too?

The initial release of my iMessage backup/exporter software received some amazing feedback from this sub. Since then it has improved a lot:

• Arroyo Lupine was a maintenance release that polished iOS support and reworked handling of attachment data
• Checker Mallow polished HTML exports by adding several quality-of-life features and fixed several bugs

Finally, the most recent release, Laurel Sumac, added iOS 17 and macOS Sonoma support!

I have found this software very useful to preserve my data and I hope you all do as well.

Hi all, I've ran into an issue that I don't seem to be able to find the solution for. Already tried Google and searching this subreddit, but nothing worked, in fact I cannot find anyone with the same problem as mine.

I have my Apple TV (4K 128GB) connected to my LG C1, which has Edifier R2850DB speakers connected with optical cable. I can control the volume of the speakers using the TV remote with universal control enabled, but for some reason this does not work with ATV remote, even though all the correct icons appear on screen when I click VOL+, VOL- and MUTE buttons. For some reason MUTE function works once after restarting Apple TV, but then also stops. I can control TV volume using ATV remote when I change Sound Out option to TV speakers, but not with Optical Out.

CEC link between the devices is enabled, I can control Apple TV with the TV remote without problems. I have tried restarting ATV remote, learning new device, as well as all available connection options. The on screen icons when using volume control buttons are the same when using the TV remote (they are also the same with the speakers disconnected from universal control, in which case only an icon similar to MUTE appears, this applies to both remotes), the only difference is that the volume does not change when I use ATV remote.

Anyone have any ideas how to get this working? I could be using LG remote for everything, but I would prefer ATV remote to be the only remote that I need to use, and volume control is the only thing left that it cannot do.

I bought a brand new iphone 15 last week.

I was just taking a picture and it started vibrating and making a really strange noise. I have not dropped it at all. Also my phone does not have alerts on vibration and i have sounds off.

For the last 4 hours my iPhone was my wife’s. What I mean is that I had no text or emails to me but I could read all of my wife’s stuff. I didn’t because the Apple privacy hypocrisy was clouding my brain. We, daughter, wife and I share an Apple ID. Never in the entire time that I have had an iPhone has the ID suddenly changed to my wife or daughter. Must be the latest update. I had to reset to almost factory settings to eliminate the issue. Apple’s harping on privacy is just total and complete bullshit. Please don’t respond with cures or how Apple takes privacy seriously, or a Google search on how to fix it. Been there and done that so just stop. I waited in line for the first iPhone and I still have it. Such rookie stupidity. Tim Cook will resign soon as a billionaire. Such a doooosh.

If their phone is off or they don’t have service, and I send them unsend the iMessage before it reads as delivered, and before it resends as a text message. When the recipient turns their phone back on, does the “solivia916 unsent a message” appear to them? Or will it not go because the initial message was never delivered?

Can I chose a different sound for text notifications on my Apple Watch? I am on call for work and would be nice to sleep with it on and hear an ear splitting god awful noise to make sure it wakes me up.

Before this update there was this bar on top of the keyboard that let you quickly select photos or location. Now it’s this annoying pop up. Any idea how to get rid of it?

Is anyone else having issues with wifi on their iphone15? Mine gets really bad reception that drops every few minutes. The wifi symbol in the top right doesn’t change it says there are full bars but when I try to watch a video or search something every few minutes it won’t work or will take a long time.

Anyone know why my phone does this weird thing when I touch it to my Apple Watch? It’s like a wave of rainbow and makes a lil noise (also does it on my watch). I screenshot part of it, but can’t post the screen recording unfortunately

I have just done the last update on my watch and while I was at first very excited about the new feature measuring how much time one has spent in daylight, I quickly realize that as winter approaches, I will be wearing jackets with the sleeves covering my wrists and thus my watch.

What do you people plan to do about this? Just not care and cover the watch or will you keep it exposed to the sun (and the cold)?

Should I get the 3rd gen 4K or wait for the 4th gen when it comes out soon?

If not then how do I get rid of it? (Recently deleted apps)

Any tips? Been an android user for many years and tried iPhone a little bit here and there but wanted to give it another try! I'm a phone nerd I have used so many in the last year alone and still have my Z Fold 5 and Pixel. I want to try the iPhone longer than 2 weeks lol got the 15 Pro max and nice so far so smooth..

I just set up my phone as new recently and I had to download over 50 apps even though I really tried my best to weed out the ones that aren’t frequently used. Back then (like 4 years ago) 20-25 apps was all I really needed. Obviously our needs change as we grow but I don’t know how and when I came to the point of needing 50+ apps downloaded on my phone at all times. Anyone else?

Debating on these two laptops… thoughts/opinions??

My wife is a teacher and I want to get her a Mac. The M3 Pro is $1799 for black Friday, or I could get a 15" Air with 16GB of Ram for $1449. IDK if she will ever use IO of the pro, but I can't decide. Any teachers on here or any recommendations for me to go.

Icon is fully black and completely off, text is white and weirdly aligned. It’s either a bug or extremely bad design. Any thoughts?
