My husband‘s work is finally allowing him to wear a smart watch. Long story.

For years he has wanted one so that he can track his health stuff but mainly, his sleep. The past three nights that he has had this watch, this is what he’s been getting:

My watch (series 8 45mm SS) gets this information:

(The last two days for me I had to input the information manually because I fell asleep before putting my watch back on from charging it 😩)

Is there something he needs to specifically do for the Ultra 2 to track his REM, deep, etc. sleep? He set up his stuff in the watch and health apps the same way I have.

Thanks in advance!

So in the new iOS 17 the reminders app has a groceries list type which is pretty cool. But I added the reminders widget to my widgets list but it only shows the reminders list there doesn’t seem to be a way to have it show the groceries list that I can see. It would be nice if just turning on the screen I could see the list to check items off. Anyone know if a way to do this? I know if you tap on the widget to actually fully open up the reminders app I can browse and find the list, but it sure would be less steps to display the one I want to begin with.

Hi all - I have the occasional experience (once per week roughly) where my Apple Watch on the watch face will "blink" like an eye closing and opening whilst also vibrating once. I can't replicate it nor can I find any reference to it. It's something intentional/part of the software. Does anyone know what this might be?

Now that RCS is being supported by Apple, you technically don’t have to install a 3rd party app to a have a good messaging experience with non-Apple users. I’ll probably slowly delete and replace some of those apps, as the world moves forward with modern messaging interoperability.

I can’t help but think of a few features I’d miss by only using iMessage (as you can tell, I’m not from the US). Text “Notes” from Messenger is a nice, modern callback to “Statuses” of the 2010s. And I’ll be honest, I’ll miss Stories (which are pretty much in every app now), Group Chats having typing indicators, Group Descriptions, custom Group Display Pics etc.

What would you like to see added to iMessage or RCS?

I am in my mid 30s and other than the 4S, I have always used Android. I was really into having more customization, more choice and more cost efficient phones. Since I’ve gotten older I don’t at all care about customizing every tiny detail of my phone. I just want something stable and reliable.

About 4 months ago I was offered a free iPhone with my service company. And I have some thoughts.

  • It runs amazingly. I love how snappy it is, and it never seems to lag even with heavy use and many apps open.

-I really love the iOS integration. It’s clean looking and really accessible.

  • I’ve always loved the look of iPhones. I think they’re easily the most gorgeous looking phones on the market and sort have been since their inception.

I do have some negatives though.

  • The keyboard seems like a step down from the Androids I’ve used. The latest big iOS update sort of fixed some of the issues. But much typing is much more fluid on a consistent basis than on iOS.

  • The Notification Center is abysmal. I can’t count how many time I’ve completely missed a notification because of how it’s set up. It’s almost so counterproductive that it’s laughable.

The keyboard I’ve sort of adjusted to. But the notifications could really use a massive rework. It shouldn’t be that easy to miss notifications. And sure, some of it is because I’m used to Android but I also truly believe Android just handles notifications far better.

  • the battery could be better. But I can go a day without a charge so it’s not a massive deal. I feel like the battery life is a fair trade off and it isn’t the absolute worst.

All in all I am extremely happy with my iPhone. I feel like I’ll be sticking to iOS for the foreseeable future. But the notification issue really would be the only reason I’d switch back. Just wanted to share my experience.

I hope you all have a wonderful and positive week!

For those of you who have a chest strap for pulse monitoring, could you answer a few questions for me? Thank you!

  • Is it worth buying one?
  • When I connect it to the Apple Watch via Bluetooth, does the watch's built-in sensor stop working?
  • When I take it off from my chest, does the Apple Watch sensor become functional again, or do I need to take additional steps?

Hi everyone!

Last week I changed to an iPhone 15 Pro and after setting everything up I noticed that in General > Storage the Watch app was using like 350mb... 80mb for the apps and the rest for documents and data... This data is supposed to be related with backups...

I think it is too much storage for the watch backup... but I can't really tell because I can't remember the storage use of this app in my (now) old iPhone 13...

So my question is... Is this normal?

Second... Where is located the watch backup so I can access to it and check what is activated and what is not?

I read that this backup should be in iCloud but I am not using the iPhone iCloud backup so that is why I think this is the reason the Watch app is using so much space... because as it is not at iCloud this backups are in local...

Sorry if my explanation is a little mess... Thanks for reading hope you can help me!

Hello,

as the title says, I started to feel concerned about the battery life of my Macbook (M1 Pro) after exactly a year of usage.

It is usually plugged during the day, and I will need the battery once or twice a week (working on battery for a full day).

Though, it's not plugged 24/7, only when I'm at work (so not during nights and week-ends for example)

When comparing with a colleague that did almost 200 cycles (something like 191), I was surprised to realize that his laptop also is at 91%, with more than a hundred cycles than mine.

Also, when I'm comparing to my GF macbook air, which is only 50 cycles after 2 years, and knowing that she sometimes doesn't care much about preventing the battery to reach 0% or whatever, that is still at 100%, I don't really know what to think...

Am I doing something wrong here ?

Did I literally burn my battery or is the total capacity somehow varies depending on what's happening with it? (like, is it possible that in a week it came back at, idk, let's say 93) ?

When I'm reading a bit on apple's website, everyone says it's normal, but I don't understand how 2 people could have this much different results

Thanks

I use my iPad Pro for work and as I’m ACTIVELY reading the messages on there my phone vibrates every time I get a message. So I manually turn it off when at the office but it has caused me to miss important calls. Can I automate this process?

I have bought an Apple Watch SE with cellular for my kid, and I have enabled a Telus standalone plan for this watch so I can call my kid. So I was using the Family Setup to setup the watch.

Most of the basic functions are working well, but the problem is the apps installed on the Apple Watch is limited. I cannot install any apps to the watch from my iPhone, not even able to change the watch face from my iPhone. The apps view from my iPhone for this watch is much shorter than my own watch. Is there any way to resolve this issue? Thanks.

Video on YouTube gets zoomed in when I drag the video down to minimise the player. Is this happening to anyone else? It’s not all the time, sometimes it works just fine.

Tried many different ways of testing at the Apple Store yesterday and they determined the NFC chip on my 15 PM is dead.

Instead of swapping my iPhone, they said because it was purchased through TMobile, it’ll have to be sent back for repair and they can give me an iPhone X loaner. What a joke! Should I ask the store manager for an exchange?

I've bought an Apple Watch Series 6 LTE, and I've noticed that my screen-time has decreased a lot. I feel that I'm not that addicted to my iPhone.

I feel more free when I go for a walk or shopping wearing just my watch. Now I can left my iPhone at home.

What about you?

Hi guys,

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but the autocorrection is going crazy. I've already completely reset the dictionary, yet it's still suggesting words that are spelled completely wrong. I mean, it's suggesting that I change 'today' to this nonsense. Something is seriously wrong here, it wasn't like this before (last year).

I was writing initially: "I was fine with the one, I sent you today."

Before the update I had the sunrise/sunset complication. It still shows on my watch but the times are empty. Is there an app to download to pair with my watch?
