Getting really tired of the small screen on my intel 13” 2020 mac and am hoping to upgrade for easier split screen productivity. I’m considering the 15” 16GB MacBook Air and the M3 14” MacBook Pro. Don’t do any heavy duty video or photo editing but I do like to code/program. Will the air suit my needs? Or is it too weak? I feel a little silly only getting one extra inch with the 14” pro, but the 16” is a bit out of my price range.

I have a Samsung S95B placed in a cutout in my living room which means I don’t have a place for putting speakers. I am currently using TV speakers but they don’t sound great. I am thinking about either putting 2 HomePod minis behind my couch or 1 HomePod behind the couch or getting a soundbar and placing it behind the TV (in the cutout). I would have gone for a soundbar if positioning wasn’t an issue but I guess in my case soundbar wouldn’t sound the best since the sound will be bouncing off the walls and the TV. What do you guys suggest to go with if I only want to use this setup for watching TV?

I must be missing something. apple watch series 9, latest OS. I have a sleep schedule set for 10:30pm - 6:30am, no wind down mode. How does it detect when I actually fall asleep? the sleep app shows that I went to sleep around 9:55 but in reality, I was up until 11:30 pm. I do lay in bed and listen to audiobooks but I am pretty fidgety. Am I supposed to be doing something so that my watch knows I am going to sleep? Is there a way to edit past data collected to show closer to the actual time I went to sleep?

Hey, I was searching on my old things and I found my old iPhone 5s, I forgot it because I cracked the screen like 7-8 years ago. I fix it and I was seeing how time had paused on that iPhone, all my things were where I left them, even some games from that time, among them Dark Nebula HD and Dark Nebula HD Episode Two, I don't know how I forgot them, they were very good games and recognized for App Store editors. The gameplay is to guide a sphere with the gyroscope through different worlds that were very well set and were reminiscent of an apocalyptic world and Transformers that I was a big fan of at that time, the point is I wanted to know if anyone else played it and if I can pass that app on to my iPhone 13 Pro Max, since for some reason it was removed from everywhere. Nobody made a video or anything explaining that and the only way to get the game is by looking for an apk, but I want to know if there is any way to transfer that app from that iPhone to the actual one, I would be grateful for any answers, thanks in advance.

I’m looking for some way with or without other apps to have a single beep or sound at every 50 minute mark on the hour (from 8am-5pm M-F). I need some kind of alarm or timer or something to beep gently just once every 60 minutes at the 50m mark, it’ll help me with work greatly.

I don’t know if there’s an easy way to do this on my iPhone. I tried making a calendar event that had the calendar alert go off 10 minutes before the start time (on the hour), but it didn’t actually make any alert sound, and it just vibrated my Apple Watch instead. Which doesn’t work for me unfortunately, since I need an audible sound. Just a single soft sound.

Any thoughts?

I got my iPhone 14 stolen in June this year and I put it on lost mode an hour after, but the thieves had already turned it off at that point so lost mode has been pending ever since. I did remove my Apple Pay from the phone immediately so I think that’s fine. I never erased or removed the device from my Apple ID since I wanted to see if it did resurface at some point, and to also spite who stole my phone so that it was only useful for parts. Since it’s been about 5 months and it’s never resurfaced, I figured it’s been long parted out by now.

Today, I got a notification from FindMy that my phone is now in Shen Zhen, China lmao but lost mode is still pending. I thought if it connected to the point where my FindMy gave me a notification, lost mode should’ve activated? I know this is reddit so I’ll take it with a grain of salt but should I be paranoid that they somehow got into my phone? Or it only came on so briefly that lost mode wasn’t able to activate?

Hi I’m wondering if anyone knows if this is expected behavior while using CarPlay. When I have my iPhone 15 connected to my car, the iPhone screen goes black after a few seconds and I have to unlock it. I had another phone that would act as a second screen and not lock automatically. Is this a setting that I can change?

Previously, when I was watching a video, I could pinch and zoom a video on any website in pretty much as far as I wanted. However, ever since I updated to iOS17.1.1, I can only zoom the outer edges of the video player to the limit of my screen display; no longer beyond that. Is there a setting somewhere for that?

I walk indoors a fair bit at work. Usually in place of a 5k run.

I’m noticing lately that either my minutes are delayed in being added or are not recorded at all (think 10 minute walking and nothing being recorded). Yes I make sure my HR stays high during. And I have wiped down the sensor.

Any suggestions?

I want to have something like speaker notes open when im presenting my slide show, but I need to be the one sharing screen so Im going to need some kind of solution.

Apple Watch Series 8, watchOS 10.1.1

Today, my Apple Watch is showing "Happy birthday!" as the top reply suggestion when I scroll down to pick a reply to a text message. I have a customized list of "default replies" and "Happy birthday!" is not on the list. I also have "smart replies" disabled.

It does not appear to be related to a contact's birthday... it is happening on all message threads, even those for which I have not created a contact.

I tried power cycling the watch and it still does it. I tried adjusting the "default replies" to sort of jog it back to having the normal list, and my changes did take effect, but "Happy birthday!" is still listed at the top.

Anyone else ever seen something like this? I'm at a loss so I guess I'll just see if it goes away tomorrow, before going through the process to reset the watch...

Hey Reddit, I'm in a tough spot. I left home at 20 due to my mother's erratic behavior, and now she's taken control by blocking my cards and SIM cards. She's even threatened to report my iPhone as stolen unless I comply with her demands. I need guidance on how to regain control and stop her from blocking my phone. I have changed my iCloud passwords and dont know what else to do Any advice or steps I can take to resolve this situation?

Question: Has anyone dealt with a similar situation where a family member has taken control of their phone? How can I prevent my mother from blocking my iPhone, and what steps can Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I recently purchased LG C3 and am hoping to find some help programming the LG magic remote to control my Apple TV box. Is there a simple way to link the two?

Right now, the LG magic remote can control the Apple TV, but I still need to use the Apple remote to turn on the Apple TV box. Once I turn on the Apple TV box using the Apple remote, the LG magic remote can control everything except Siri voice assistant.

Ideally, I would like to be able to put away the Apple remote completely and use the LG magic remote for everything (including Siri voice assistant).

Any help on this will be appreciated! Thank you!

What is the best screen protector out there with a life time warranty- cost, quality, fit, finish etc. I want a product I can get replacements for when it eventually chips or scratches.

So when I try to launch certain apps like Amazon, Instagram, and Hulu my phone will attempt to launch them but force close them. My phones updated and my storage is only half way full. I’ve restarted my phone and have tried different WiFi’s and through normal data yet I continue to have the same issue. Also I’ve reinstalled the apps. Any idea on how I can fix this?

Really want the sierra blue colour and plan to keep it until it stops working. Dont care for always on display or the Dynamic Island.

i have a series 5 and just updated to watchOS 10. I realized that in this update, they changed it so that you press the side button to get to the control center (it used to be swipe up from the bottom of the screen)

the problem is… my watch is broken and the side button doesn’t work. however, i do use the control center quite often. (part of my job requires developing films in the darkroom so i’ll often put on theatre mode, i like to ping my phone so i can find it in the house, etc.)

does anyone know of any settings that i can adjust so that i can access the control center without using the side button? i imagine there might be some accessibility settings that can be adjusted?
