Not sure if the issue lies with iOS 17 or my iPhone 15, but I noticed the timers app is pretty much silent now. I regularly used to use the timer app when taking a nap or for cooking and whatnot and have never encountered this issue. It is now pretty much silent and virtually impossible to hear when it's going off. Used to be a loud alarm. Unless you look at the phone, you wouldn't even know its going off. I've tried changing alarm tones and it doesn't fix the issue. Am I the only one experiencing this?

I am currently a college student going to school for computer engineering (which is a hybrid between computer science and electrical engineering) and I need to get a new laptop. I am familiar with both operating systems so the transfer wouldn't be any major issues.

onHowever, the issue comes in when deciding what MacBook I need, which is why I am turning here. I have researched the new M3 chips extensively, and it's nearly a 50/50 between "save your money and get an m2" versus "this chip is awesome."

I am lost here and need some advice on what chip is the right move. Also, I have a Windows desktop at my home that can provide any Windows-specific software required.

I have a controversial setup compared to many here. I don’t track workouts. I do track sleep, steps, heart rate, and some other metrics. Primary use though is a watch with other info (weather, seconds, sunset, humidity) at a glance.

As far as notifications. I only receive them for messages and phone calls, everything else is off. Siri is off, noise levels off, ecg is off (can turn it on when I want to take one). AOD off. Most background services are off aside from ones I need.

I want to test this again but with the modular face and no background or complications. Just a black screen with a white time and date and a seconds complication (as I need that) and see if I can break 40hrs.

Ultimately battery life and longevity is a priority for me and with 98% life left after 7 months I think I’m in a good spot.

Hello all. This is an Apple Watch 7, and got like this after I entered in the beach for a quick swim. It got like this really soon after(couple minutes). I tried all post bath techniques to dry and never changed. It’s “working”, but you can barely see the images after some time. Don’t know if it matters, but this is a substitution after my screen broke (but I feel they give you a new one, right?) Is this fixable?

Hi guys, I tried to google this but without any luck. Would anyone know how to force a live notification from Apple watch to your lock screen (as seen in the photo). Sometimes it will pop-up but not always, is it possible to force this every time a new activity is started on the watch?

So I am going to study computer science next year and I am trying to search for the best macbook I could get(it’s my first ever macbook). I want 16” screen, 16 gb of RAM and 512 GB of SSD preferably. I’m sure for those but I don’t know much about the CPU’s. Is the new M3 chip really worth it for my kind of work(programming, taking notes, watching movies and light gaming like TFT)? I want the laptop to really last as long as possible. So you any of you give me any recommendations?

Most difficult task that I will do is video editing in Davinci Resolve. For simple edits even my old macbook is ok. But when I add some heavy effects like masks, stabilizers, color change etc. ... it's pain in ass...

Now at similar price there is:

1. Macbook 16" M1 Max, 10‑CPU/32-GPU, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD
2. Macbook 14" M3 Pro, 12-CPU/18-GPU, 18 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD

I watched so many benchmarks with different result and even it didn't answer my questions. I don't care if video will export 30s faster or slower. Most important thing for me is fluent playback while editing with some heavy effects.
I don't care about size, but M3 pro has a slight advantage in longer OS support. So which one will You choose?

I did a quick google search and I find similar post saying tap down twice and previous channel appears in bottom of screen.

When I do this all I get is TV network channels but in no order I last watched them.
