I moved my little guy to the f5 square to attack the king, and then white's little guy appeared in f6 and my little guy disappeared. What is going on? Is chess.com rigging the puzzles so that we can't solve them???

for some reason posts and comments from sopuli.xyz and sh.itjust.works users have not been federating to kbin.social for the last 2 days. if you want to see all the posts from communities on lemmy instances or at least sopuli.xyz you need to click the browse original instance banner at the top of the magazine

Kbin also seems to be blocking bots for some reason, there is PetrosianBot on this community that isn't appearing on kbin

To clarify:
even though this community is on sopuli.xyz it still seems to be federating, but if a user from sopuli or sh.itjust.works makes a comment/post here it won't appear on kbin. id a user from lemmy.world, lemmy.antemeridiem.xyz, etc makes a comment/post it will be visible, like this post is

It's not just !anarchychess@sopuli.xyz it seems to happen on all lemmy communities. I found a post on lemmy.world and all the comments from sh.itjust.works users are missing.
if it was only sh.itjust.works not federating it might be a blacklist but supoli.xyz seems like an odd one to get blacklisted. lemmy.theonecurly.page also seems to not be federating with kbin, I seem no reason why that would be blacklisted either

It's over! sopuli.xyz has just updated to 0.18.1 and kbin federation is working again

I thought about turning the Bishop going on vacation into a playable move and wanted some feedback on my thoughts.

The first option is a chess player could take the Bishop off the board as one move, hope the opponent forgets and later the Bishop returns to the same square, maybe putting a King in check etc.

The second option is the Bishop goes on vacation to another square on the board. It can move to any empty square, even one of the opposite colour (Bishops have good travel agents). While on vacation, the bishop loses the ability to capture and move (except to return from vacation). Both taking a vacation and returning from vacation use a chess players turn.

While on vacation a Bishop can be captured. But it might be protected by another piece . EG. Bishop goes on vacation to block a Rook attacking the King it just put in check. Rook captures Bishop. Pawn captures Rook.

Algebraic Notation: Be6v0 - Bishop on e6 goes on vacation off the board Bf8va2 - Bishop on f8 goes on vacation to a2. Ba2rf8 - Bishop on a2 returns from vacation to f8.

Any thoughts ?
