This is a open game of Chess where the top legal comment directly to the post decides the next move. The game also includes Knooks who stood in for Kingside bishops who went on vacation at the start of the game.

Like a Queen can move like a Bishop or a Rook, A Knook can move like a Knight or a Rook and it has the Algebraic notation symbol of O. On the board, it looks like they have a K tattoo.

  1. d4 d5
  2. Oe3 Og6
  3. Nf3 Nh6
  4. O-O c6
  5. Nc3 O-O
  6. h3 Bxh3
  7. Ne5

Arbiters Note: There was some confusion during the last move, however after consideration, a reply to a comment for Ne5 had more votes than any other commenter and was taken to be the will of the white team. If this is not the case, a move of "Retract move" will be put in for their eighth move so another move can be substituted for their 7th move.

Rotating board to player whose turn it is will be default going forward.

  1. d4 d5
  2. Oe3 Og6
  3. Nf3 Nh6
  4. O-O c6
  5. Nc3 O-O
  6. h3 Bxh3

Timeframe changed to 11 hours for the long timeslot so I can walk it forward if needed. I mean it when i say it'll be after X hours, not surprise anyone with a 5 mins early move.

(Kingside bishops went on vacation, Knooks started in their place. Knook is O in Algebraic notation)

  1. d4 d5
  2. Oe3 Og7
  3. Nf3 Nh6
  4. O-O c6
  5. Nc3 O-O
  6. h3

Board rotation should be standard now when its to move as black and have minimalist square notation of 1, 8, A and H.

Rumor on the street is the Bishops only went for a short vacation and might be coming back soon.

The Ice age continues.

Probably the most lazy edit of the game, sorry about that
I'm trying out an image hosting site recomended by @CookieJarObserver@feddit.de on day 5

Now for an announcement:
I have uploaded every image, extra image, 2D image and metadata from all the days to a github repo here, I update it every day

Next move will have pieces shown from their perspective and probably some form of square numbering.

From today times will likely be 6 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours. This gives 3 moves a day and sides alternate the long move time. Initial post with game FAQ: https://lemmy.world/post/2490148

Ignore the mouse cursor at c6.

Knook has algebraic notation symbol of O and called up last minute to fill in for Kingside Bishops' who went on vaction, they wont come back while the game is running.

  1. d4 d5
  2. Oe3 Og6
  3. Nf3 Nh6

Unless the game finishes earlier, Blacks 6th move will be significantly longer, around 8 hours due to sleep.

Black is slated to get a long time to move in a few hours ( to counter for moving second). If the game is still going 24 hours after that, white will get long time to move.

561

Whites move and Blacks following move will be at 120 minutes, then afterwards it'll be 60 minutes for a few turns. The next post may have a delay in getting a graphic up

Attempts to play a shorter time frame hit snags with lag and federation, so the scheduled 2nd game in 11 hours is cancelled and being replaced with this longer timeframe game.

Im keeping the Kingside Knooks as starting pieces, and pawns can promote to Knooks. Other AnarchyChess rules are not legal for now, but i will consider bringing them into the game im playing this on AnarchyChess-DreamyDesktop at some point. The goal was to modify an Open Source chess game to include a Knook and this is a way to playtest with some people with much higher ELO than myself.

I want the game to go reasonably quickly, but still be open to everyone and will use variable time controls. Commenters will have a minimum of 30 minutes to make a move, typically 60 minutes , and a multi hour timeslot for overnight. I dont want to just play myself, so i might extend the next timeslot if they finish and no one else has made a legal move. Each timeslot, i'll add a "placeholder" move which will be default if no one else comments. I will remove my upvote, so anyone commenting should be top comment.

Let me know if you have any questions.

FAQ: **Will this be a regular thing ? ** No, Its the first real game using the code and i want to see if anything breaks. More gameplay testing will likely be done over at https://lemmy.world/c/anarchychessgaminglounge . If new rules like Siberian swipe come into play, another game here could be held.

**The top comment was resign, why isnt the game over ? ** ~~I recently announced i'd be running two games so anyone anywhere in the world could participate if they want, the second was due to kickoff in about 10 hours. I'm going to keep the game at an hourly time increment and veto any resigns until then. ~~ Update: Top comment of resign will now be honoured.

**Different time increments ? ** Throughout my day, i am away from the computer but other times, i'm close to it. If im close , i might shorten the timeframe to be 30mins. if i shorten a move for white, i'll shorten the next move for black and vice versa.

One side will get a long time to move while i sleep, which side won't be known until its bedtime. I might alternate sides each night.

**Atleast X minutes ? ** Things will get in the way, its not top priority so whatever time i get back to the game after X minutes have elapsed it the time, but the next post shouldnt be too long after the X minutes have elapsed. Im aiming for 10 minutes and am adjusting the minutes accordingly.

Why is there no image up yet ? Im away from the board some times, but can record moves, make new posts and edit in the image later. It shouldnt be too long without an image.

**Two are tied for top comment. Which one wins ? ** I will lean to whichever is older, and pick one.
