Hey everyone, fellow anarchist. I just wanted to take a moment to celebrate:

• Protestors all around the north stopped Israel help, thefore helping Palestines.
• EZLN dynamism to adapt to ever-changing situations and a great sense of humor.
• Protests Against Cop City in Atlanta helps counter-act authoritarianism in a country that historically has been the empire.
• AANES/Rojava territories exist and keep on giving a great fight against all odds.
• The Myanmar resistance against their fascist opponent where the alliance is giving them a run for their money.

I share this mostly because I'm are coming out of a very upsetting situation that I'm sure many people share.

To share the feeling that the world and our friends Solarpunks are imagining is being made in the middle of gardens where bullets fly like mosquitoes in the jungle. Too many. And it is always in our hands to take the necessary actions to put the seeds of empathy and international solidarity. To combat bigotry and hate speech while giving hope to those around us.

We are not saviors, not at all. People can only save themselves, and it is that friendly hand, the shoulder where you can cry, and the compañerxs you can trust who push and guide us to see in this significant penumbra.

So, l want to celebrate that you guys exist. You artists who imagine the future; you freedom-fighters; you who choose to identify as or decided to love a man, woman, or non-binary people; you workers who share their know-how; you parents who care for the future; you from the global south or north; you from whatever skin color you were born with: I celebrate you, and I applaud your work so far.

Let me know of any progress I may have missed in my message of individuals striving for autonomy and acknowledgment so that we can celebrate their achievements even more.

I hope you all have a great day, and remember that, at least from this geography of South America, at least one capybara is celebrating you.

Simone Weil on her text about The Iliad, or The Poem of Force

I was introduced to Simone Weil and her thoughts on the force by a philosopher I admired when he spoke about this poem while discussing the war in Palestine with his audience. I find them to be profound. By far, it has been the definition of force I find more natural to talk about when I reflect on the nature of violence.

A brief article by Tommy Lawson discussing how an anarchist's understanding of nationalism must be nuanced in the context of imperialism, and how simplistic devotion to the rejection of nationalist ideal of oppressed people would weaken the global resistance against reactionary forces.

On November 4 2023, a small group of anti-colonial feminist organizers in Hamilton, Ontario dropped a banner over Highway 403 in solidarity with the people of Gaza and all Palestinians who are experiencing the current genocidal peak of Israel’s violent settler-colonial state project.

Reading ‘FREE GAZA’, the banner was dropped in response to a call for a Day of Action across Turtle Island to put pressure on the Canadian settler-colonial state to end its support for the Israeli Zionist regime’s unfolding genocide in Gaza. The following day, November 5th, Hamilton’s downtown streets were filled with people mobilized in solidarity with Gaza and the Palestinian struggle against Israeli Occupation.

Keep up the momentum! Keep up the pressure! CEASEFIRE NOW! END THE OCCUPATION!

We refuse the instrumentalization of our queerness, our bodies, and the violence we face as queer people to demonize and dehumanize our communities, especially in service of imperial and genocidal acts. We refuse that Palestinian sexuality and Palestinian attitudes towards diverse sexualities become parameters for assigning humanity to any colonized society. We deserve life because we are human, with the multitude of our imperfections, and not because of our proximity to colonial modes of liberal humanity. We refuse colonial and imperialist tactics that seek to alienate us from our society and alienate our society from us, on the basis of our queerness. We are fighting interconnected systems of oppression, including patriarchy and capitalism, and our dreams of autonomy, community, and liberation are inherently tied to our desire for self-determination. No queer liberation can be achieved with settler-colonization, and no queer solidarity can be fostered if it stands blind to the racialized, capitalist, fascist, and imperial structures that dominate us.

We call on queer and feminist activists and groups around the world to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people in their resistance to displacement, land theft, and ethnic cleansing and their struggle for the liberation of their lands and futures from Zionist settler-colonialism. This call cannot be answered only by sharing statements and signing letters but by an active engagement with decolonial and liberatory struggles in Palestine and around the globe.

And then to top it off, this knight guy showed up to court today in his whole chainmail costume, and this is making me realize that he is probably way more mentally ill than I realized. This dude needs help, not more attention. Why subject vulnerable individuals like that to the stress and scrutiny of the injustice system?"

FIRST. – A few months ago, after a long and profound critical and self-critical analysis, and after consulting all the Zapatista towns, it was decided to disappear the Zapatista Rebel Autonomous Municipalities (MAREZ) and the Good Government Juntas.

SECOND. – All seals, letterheads, positions, representations and agreements with the name of any MAREZ or any of the Good Government Juntas are invalid from this moment on. No person can present themselves as a member, authority or representative of any MAREZ or Good Government Junta. The agreements held before this date, with Non-Governmental Organizations, social organizations, collectives, solidarity groups and instances in Mexico and the world are maintained until their expiration, but new agreements cannot be made with these bodies of Zapatista autonomy, for the simple reason that they no longer exist.

THIRD. – The Caracoles remain, but they will remain closed to the outside world until further notice.

For the ISE blog: Mason Herson-Hord explains the unfolding genocide against Palestinians in Gaza through the history of Israel's radical right's ascension to power. "Over the course of these decades, there was a resulting shift in Israeli political consciousness where the historical necessity of the Nakba for the creation of the Jewish state transitioned from a truth to be masked or denied to one to be embraced and carried forward into Israel’s expansionist future."

I am hesitant to suggest a “descent into fascism” narrative about Israel. The State of Israel has always been fascistic in relation to its Palestinian subjects. In the entirety of Israel’s modern history, there were only a scarce few months where at least hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were not living under its martial law and military dictatorship: between the end of apartheid military rule over the subject class of Palestinians remaining after the Nakba in what became Israel (1949-1966) and the capture of the other Palestinian territories and the creation of the Israeli Military Governorate (1967 onwards).32 These systems of Israeli military rule over Palestinians can only be adequately described as totalitarian: through 1994, they entailed complete bans on any Palestinian political activity or freedom of expression; incarceration (often without trial or even charges) at rates far exceeding anything seen in Soviet gulags or the American prison-industrial complex; and state control over all areas of life through checkpoints, secret police, kangaroo courts, torture, and surveillance.33 Taken together with the racial ideology of the state, it is difficult to draw clear boundaries between the Israeli occupation regime and other fascist states historically.

That being said, a qualitative shift in Israeli civil society and political life has nevertheless been underway, as the fascism that characterizes the occupation has metastasized within the body politic on the other side of the Green Line. A campaign is being waged to eliminate checks on the government’s power, criminalize dissent, and strip so-called “enemies of the state” of civil and political rights. Netanyahu has led this effort with increasingly dark and fascistic language, moving the needle towards dictatorship ever further. In 2018, for example, Prime Minister Netanyahu declared that “In the Middle East, and in many parts of the world, there is a simple truth: There is no place for the weak. The weak crumble, are slaughtered and are erased from history while the strong, for good or for ill, survive. The strong are respected, and alliances are made with the strong, and in the end peace is made with the strong.”

The evidence at this point is, in my view, unmistakable: Israel is a fascist society, in the classical sense. It is not merely governed by populist right-wing would-be authoritarians, or fond of dog whistle racism, or other qualities characterizing the right-wing nationalist resurgence internationally that is often loosely given the label “fascist.” It is the real deal. Fascism in Israel has a mass character—there are violent street movements attacking enemies of the state while carrying out the settler project of ethnic cleansing block by block with the state’s simultaneous approval and (im)plausible deniability. And the end goal of this fascism is the expulsion of all Palestinians, killing all who refuse to leave, and the violent suppression of all democratic elements of Israeli society who would object to this.
