For the unfamiliar, this is an interactive fiction competition. The premise is that people submit 'seeds' (assets, writing prompts, or game ideas) and creators pick ones they like to make a game off of. The best game wins, good seeds can get stickers. (Both of these are just virtual pats on the back, no real money or stickers involved.) The nature of this event is that most of the seeds will remain unused, but I think having a bunch of them to look through is part of the appeal. And of course they can be resubmitted or removed if you want to use the idea for your own project.

Compared to past years having 80+ seeds, this year only has 12. If anyone here has any concepts or ideas, I'm sure they'd be appreciated.

I put on Larry 7 on my Steam Deck the other day after playing through 6. And I saw that you could type in commands again like in the old games.

Do you have to use that feature or can you get by with the mouse only? My eyesight isn't that great and typing on the Deck isn't much fun either way so I hope it's optional.

We are excited to announce that Rise of the Dragon is now ready for public testing. This is the first of a small number of games built using the DGDS (Dynamix Game Development System) engine.

The Dynamix name may be familiar – bought by Sierra in 1990, the Dynamix brand continued and became well known for action and puzzle games like The Incredible Machine, A10 Tank Killer, and Red Baron. They also made a few adventures using the custom DGDS engine.

Rise of the Dragon is set in Los Angeles in a dark version of the future, circa 2053. You play as Blade Hunter, a private investigator and retired police officer. After a designer drug kills the mayor's rebellious daughter, Chandra, Hunter is hired to find the people responsible for releasing the drug on the streets. What Blade ultimately finds is much more than he expected. Rise of the Dragon combines classic point-and-click adventure style with platforming arcade sequences, giving a unique gameplay combination.

You’ll need the latest daily build of ScummVM and files from the DOS version of the game, which you can buy at GOG (check our wiki for the required data files). Please file any issues you notice on our bug tracker.

The 1990s was a time of rapid change in the tech powering video game graphics. From pre-rendering, to ray casting, to texture-mapped polygons, it seemed that a major innovation was around every corner.

However, the pathway towards graphical realism hasn't always been clear. Let's explore one such forking path: full-motion video. With CD-powered consoles and home PCs arriving in the 90's, FMV-powered games became viable at last, promising the world... but only delivering oddity after oddity.

New adventure game "The Phantom Fellows" has released on GOG and Steam, with a 10% discount until 4th Oct.

It's a comedy mystery game featuring a guy and his ghost friend, who perform jobs and investigate mysteries over 7 days in a small Colorado town. The game has a pixel art aesthetic, reminiscent of recent games like The Darkside Detective, and synthwave music.

I have no connection to the company, stumbled across the game and been playing for a few hours. So far, it's a fun game, good production values for £11. Certainly scratches that adventure game itch.

EDIT: it's made for Windows, but I've been playing it on Linux via Lutris/Wine without issue.
