More than 6,000 hectares of seagrass meadows have been lost from Adelaide’s coastline, causing a hugely detrimental impact on local native fish populations.

As well as providing an important habitat for fish, seagrasses also help to stabilise soil and sediment on the ocean floor, helping to protect Australia’s shorelines from erosion and storms.

They also store carbon and nutrients, which helps to improve water quality and clarity – a hectare of seagrass stores 35 times more carbon than a hectare of rainforest.

Woah.

Sign the petition to save Possum Park

“The Premier, Peter Malinauskas, has a vision: that your Park Lands must be profit centres, and that therefore Open, Green, Public land (as well as trees and biodiversity) must be subservient, or sacrificed to money-making imperatives, such as LIV golf.”

Anyone know a place to source large pieces of scrap cardboard in the city?

We got a little unit in a block of flats in north-east Adelaide City. The building doesn't have a green bin pick-up. Is there anywhere close by we can donate our food scraps to? Happy to travel a bit if need be.

Also, does anyone remember an app or site where people listed their backyard composts that food waste could be donated to?

By the way, the picture is from the net.

Hi friends across the nullarbor, I'm traveling to Adelaide next week during the Stanley cup finals (Ice hockey) and I was wondering if anyone knew of a venue that might show sports at 8am on a weekday.

Long shot for sure, but I thought I'd ask!

When people think of Adelaide, they may ponder its good food and wine or its many churches. Historically, it was viewed as a well-priced place to live and work.

But years of surging property prices have made it less affordable than some of the world’s most famous cities, including London and New York, when income levels are factored into living costs.

One thousand submissions attract 95 per cent opposition to new Tesla factory in Australian city of Adelaide.

'I could not think of a worse developer to sell the land to. Tesla sales have been plummetting [sic] … this is likely to attract protests and negative attention that the neighbourhood does not need or want.'

Adelaide 90’s band the Moonies doing a run of shows in late Feb #adelaide #music

The Moonies present for 3 nights Feb 21 to 23 at Hotel Metro in Adelaide:

Back to the 90s - Indie Nostalgia Night The Moonies have gathered together some of their favourite bands from their days of regular gigging in the 2nd half of the 90s. As all original Moonies members are not available (Jason Bootle despite really wanting to, couldn’t make it over from UK and Anthony Newman hasn’t at this stage been tracked down) the remaining Moonies (Richard Sandy and Tom) have recruited former bass player Suzy Heater, former viola player Sue Hastwell and former Flat Stanley guitarist and Moonies cheer squad leader Paul Champion. It may not be the Moonies but it is the.....Moonies Tribute Show and they’ll be playing a hand-picked set of all their favourite songs with each of their 5 albums represented.

I’ve seen what look like stopping markers painted on platform edges, but at the two stations I frequently use (Mitchell Park and Tonsley) it often seems like they just stop at a random point along the platform. It’s especially noticeable at Tonsley where people often gather where they expect the rearmost carriage to be, then chase the train up the platform as it sails past.

Might be moving to your little spot on the Earth's crust. Where's the best place to live preferably within 30 minutes hike of the CBD? Used to living in Newtown/Enmore in Sydney and Brunswick/Fitzroy in Melbourne.
