I've been seeding some torrents from RARBG for about 6 -4 months, this is before RARBG went offline.

I've noticed that now that these torrents have 0 seeds, 0 peers (except one that has 1 peer).

Is it worth seeding these anymore? Will anyone ever find these torrents?

Some names I had seen mentioned are TERMINAL and SWTYBLZ. But, I SWTYBLZ is gone now 🙁 since they were RARBG release group.

Heyo, I recently posted some notes about cracking games on Linux. Those notes originally started as a reply to someone, but they evolved into more of a small treasure map for a lot of the important parts of cracking games on Linux. As I finished up the post, I noticed that it was almost exactly at the maximum length it could be on Lemmy (10k characters). I kept wanting to come back and expand just a little bit on something in that post but anything over 10k characters would not save. I eventually got so annoyed that one thing led to another and now I actually have a proper bible, this time at 100k characters.

The GNU Testament of the Linux Cracking Bible is located on GitHub: https://github.com/YoteZip/LinuxCrackingBible

A brief list of topics covered in it:

  • Configuring Lutris
  • Configuring Wine
  • Sourcing clean games
  • Discovering what DRM your game has
  • Step-by-step guides for cracking each type of popular DRM using community tools:
    • CEG (Steam Custom Executable Generation)
    • Epic Online Services
    • GFWL (Games for Windows Live)
    • Origin
    • Securom
    • SteamDRM (Windows)
    • SteamDRM (Linux)
    • Steamworks API
    • Uplay r1
    • Uplay r2
    • Xbox Live
  • Some of my personal scripts for automated cracking
  • Repacking games on Linux

My primary goals for this guide are to:

  • Demystify cracked gaming on Linux
  • Teach you to crack games by yourself, instead of relying on scene/p2p crackers

(Although it's written primarily for Linux users, Windows users should be able to follow along fairly easily for the cracking guides.)

Usenet is unmoderated. Once you post it, it sticks forever. We could probably get one of the independent providers to give free access to a new newsgroup. Anyone have any thoughts?

I’ve used Usenet for my content needs for years because it’s so fast and risk free. I think we could also use it for our community discussions.

As the title suggest, I may have installed some malicious software called Adventurous Clotth Tool from a company called Adventurous Cloth LLC.

For context, I was looking to download Driver San Francisco and because it's no longer available for purchase anywhere my brother recommended SteamUnlocked, which he has used before. After skimming the comments I assumed it was safe, downloaded the file(big warning sign in retrospect) and installed the program, after mentioning this to my brother he told me that it should have been the game files in a zip folder, and obviously I broke down in a cold sweat.

I have run multiple checks using Malware Bytes, Windows Defender and an offline Windows Defender scan, all of which reported no problems, however obviously I'm still scared/nervous about what I have done.

Apart from don't be an idiot, can anyone give me some advice on what I should be doing next? I tried searching for the company and program in question, but no results have come up.

Hey everyone!

I recently came across two DHT torrent search engines called Bitsearch and BTDigg. The thing is, I couldn't find any mention of their safety in the megathread. So, I'd like to hear from those who have experience with Bitsearch and BTDigg.

Are these websites considered safe for finding torrents? Do they filter the torrents in any way to ensure a safer experience? Or is it generally safe to use them without worrying too much about malware or other security risks?

I understand that no torrent website can guarantee 100% safety, but I'm particularly interested in the general safety of torrents that can be found on these two websites (or just DHT torrent search engines in general). Perhaps some of you have had positive experiences with these sites and can shed some light on this? If not, should I stick with DDL sites or the usual torrenting sites like 1337x and RuTracker? As someone who's relatively new to piracy, I'm eager to learn as much as I can.

Thanks, everyone! Your insights are greatly appreciated.

The Reddit was my go to. The place for advice. I learned a lot there.

But now, it's all John Oliver.

Usually I wouldn't complain about John Oliver. But this shit is getting ANNOYING. I WANNA LEARN ABOUT PIRACY GODDAMNIT. If a good service is shut down, I wouldn't be able to hear about it if it wasn't for you guys. If a website had a virus problem. If I was having trouble. Thank whoever made this website and this community. You're our only hope.

Rule 1:

Sexy pirate John Oliver artwork ONLY

Now I have been there for around 4-5 months and Reddit just killing piracy over there and making it a rule uploading this bullshit sucks.

It is not really a useful sub anymore, get off.

Yes I will be active on her though. It is the only useful thing now.

I was scouring Internet Archive for various broadcasting material of all kinds for preservation purposes and while I did find some, I'm wondering: What is the best site to find both old and modern TV broadcasting materials and such?

I'm coming from reddit and due to r/Piracy's rules (not counting protest-specific rule of only sexy John Oliver artwork allowed) and moderators I cannot say from which channel exactly unless you figure out how to cheat the system, but I'm really curious of this specific channel and the content it broadcast.

I've been looking for one for a long while but I've never been successful in actually finding and getting into one. Any suggestions?

I currently have Plex and Radarr. I only ever got 1080p content because that’s all my tv would do. Finally getting a nice new tv and would like to get a few 4K hdr movies to watch. Should I be looking for Bluray2160, Remux, or disk and what will Plex play?

*NOTE: I am NOT asking for an invite. I'm very happy to go through the normal channels (IRC, Discord, application, etc).

I think TV Chaos is probably the best current tracker for British TV? I saw that they haven't had open signups for a number of years. Tried joining their chat and didn't get any replies.

Basically looking to get recent seasons of British reality TV (TOWIE, Baby Steps, Love Island, etc) and having a hard time. I'm currently on IPT and TorrentLeech and it's slim pickings. The public trackers don't seem much better (1337z, EXTV, TorrentGalaxy). Any help would be appreciated!

I use it because the paywall on Writing.com is horrible, and the website's UI is annoying to scroll through.

Ackater makes it easy to see how deep a thread goes from the start and it's all on one page.

Keep seeing that address getting blocked by malwarebytes as I'm browsing here.

I am looking for Mac games, and in the past it was not so hard, but there seems to be none out there. I know Macs "aren't for gaming" but there are a ton of games that are native on Mac, and I am looking for those ones everywhere, but all the sites in the Megathread and Wiki, etc are all PC games. Am I missing a hidden gem of a site that has Mac games??

Hello :)

I recommended a safe website (from the direct download post on /r/piracy) to a friend. I told him to use Katfile downloads bc when I used it and downloaded like 70gbs of games (many, many separate parts/downloads), I didn’t have to wait in between downloads.

It’s been a 10 days since then, and one friend tried it out today. He showed me that Katfile now made everyone wait 2 hours in between downloads, myself included once I went to test it.

I just want to know, did I somehow get lucky that one time or was Katfiles like that a bit ago and my friends just missed out?

Every time I see an arrrr site through maintenance I get PTSD!

Are there any direct download sites that accept uploads? I'm not able to torrent for long periods due to limited storage space. I upload books pretty regularly, but I don't know of a place to do that for movies/shows. I'm very familiar with archive.org, but I don't know the ends and outs with uploading when it comes to copyright. I obviously don't want it to be taken down.

3799

Apologies if this is a basic question, but I am curious to know what I am missing out on by not having access to private torrents? I have been able to find everything I wanted using public ones.
