I heard it was possible, with BiglyBT bridges, but I never used BiglyBT and can't get it to work.

I have

  • working i2p proxy
  • BiglyBT installed with i2p helper

I would have no problem with command line commands

It's been slightly over a week since I set everything up, but I can finally say that I am happy with the results. Time to sit back and see if I can get to 5.0

I understand that sharing video, photos, documents etc. is relatively safe because the data is not executed in the processor as instructions. How come people are willing to download and install pirated software though? How can one be confident that it does not contain malicious addons? Are people just don't know the risks? Or are there protection mechanisms that I am missing? I mean since the software is usually cracked there is not much use in comparing checksums with the originals, is it?

Anybody know how to play pirated Windows games on Linux? I recently installed Lubuntu (22.04.2 Jammy Jellyfish) on my ancient laptop and all the guides I can find and trying out Lutris only seem to apply to "legit" copies bought from the official sources.

Is it even possible or will I have to do dualboot when I install Linux on my gaming desktop?

I know this is gonna come across like FBI guy trying to out some sites, but I'm slowly raising my sails again and I'm setting up qBittorrent and choosing indexers on jacket. Am I okay with just choosing whatever is on the list for the content I'm looking for or are there sites to avoid like the plague?

Hello, I want to make it clear that I know how to use my raspberry pi 3b+, I know how to torrent, and I have a general idea how to bind qbittorrent to a VPN on linux.

My questions are this:

  • My Raspberry Pi is running Pi-Hole to help manage the entire adblocking, since my brother refuses to install one despite having 2 viruses in the last year.
  • My Raspberry Pi is also plugged into the router via Ethernet
  • I can install AirVPN, I can slowly figure out their terminal client

How do I make it so qBittorrent is binded to the VPN, but the VPN doesn't filter the DNS requests so my already slow internet into 1993 speeds.

Mainly just asking here, since reddit is dead to me, and I don't want to ask a discord.

I have sonarr, radarr, gluetun and qbittorrent with overseer allowing my family to request movies and automatically download. I only have public indexers in prowlarr (1337x, kickass torrents, etc.)

This NAS also has a lot of important data like photos and documents.

I am used to vetting my torrents pretty thoroughly before downloading but now it's all automatic.

What level of risk am I running with my data when downloading things in this manner? Is there a chance of malware getting onto my NAS? Ransomware? Is the risk pretty minimal?

Hi, so with a Real Debrid subscription being used with Stremio/Torrentio, there's a drop down menu called "Debrid Options" with the following choices:

  • Don't show download to debrid links
  • Don't show debrid catalog
  • Show P2P torrent links for uncached

The default option has none of those selected. Should you be using one of those 3 options or just stay with none of those at all? I have no idea what exactly those options do.

Also, I know I can use one Torrentio account on multiple devices in my home at the same time.. can I also use one Stremio account on multiple devices at the same time or would I get a warning/get booted off of one device? Example, I'm using it on my firestick and a sibling is logged in my Stremio account on their firestick as well.

I have a plan to get into some programming in future and C is one of the considerations and it's very important language so I would like to ask if anyone programmer is in this community to suggest me some resources? I prefer video based courses but it sounds like books are very detailed sources of information then suggest what you know best.

Note: I know this isn't a professional community for the subject but I know for good quality resources I have to pirate some shit so I asked the question here because the members probably have their resources from piracy so they can help me more; sorry for expecting too much from y'all but career is career.

What is Jackett ?

To put it simply, Jackkett enables you to browse torrents from multiple indexers like 1337x, torrentz etc at the same time without needing you to visit each site one by one. It basically makes finding stuff easier and more efficient.

On to the guide then.

  1. Open qbittorrent, go to view -> Search engine. At this point qbittorrent will check if you have python runtime installed, if you don't have it then it will prompt you to install python runtime. Just hit next and install it like every other software.

2.Now head over to this link and download Jackett.installer.windows.exe

3.Run the installer and install the program , make sure you install jackett as a windows service. This will let you start or stop jackett from windows tray.

4.Keep Jackett running and head over here .Now from this dashboard you can add your indexers, Click add indexer, use the search to search your favourite indexers and click on the tiny + button to add them, You can also add private indexers and configure them using the respectable options.

  1. Once you are done with adding indexers, copy you api key present on the top right by clicking on the copy to clipboard icon beside it.

  2. Now open qbittorrent again, click on search-> Search plugins ->Install a new one-> web link and paste this: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/qbittorrent/search-plugins/master/nova3/engines/jackett.py , The plugin should get installed and appear in the installed plugins section.

  3. Press windows+R key and search %localappdata%. Now go to qbittorrent ->nova3->engines->Jackett.json. Open it using note pad and paste the previously coppied api key to where it says "your api key here". Save it. You can also change where it says "false" to "true" so that the search results show the source indexer's name.

  4. Now you can search for anything from the qbittorrent app itself and it will automatically search all your added indexers and provide the best torrents. All thanks to Jackett plugin.

I was setting this up and couldn't find a straight forward guide so decided to make one after I figured it out myself. Hope it helps you in some way. Keep sailing 😄.

TL;DR at the bottom.

I started getting into torrents about 2 years ago, at the time I started out with downloading YIFY rips and x265 RARBG encodes. I didn't care about the quality at the time, I was just happy to get movies. But I also wanted stuff like Special Features, and while Tigole and the QxR team occasionally added them for some of their movies, it felt like something was missing.

Eventually I grew dissatisfied with encodes, and wanted to watch movies in the highest quality possible. I would have downloaded BDMVs, but no one seemed to be seeding them, or in the case of less-mainstream/obscure movies, they weren't on public trackers at all. (I tried downloading REMUXes from FGT, but they always replaced the PGS subtitles with UTF text subtitles, which I didn't appreciate.) So in early 2022 I bought myself a Blu-ray optical drive, set up MakeMKV, and bought the Blu-ray of the movie I wanted to rip. After that, I bought some more BDs to rip, and I started making my own REMUXes. Some time after that, I flashed my drive with the LibreDrive firmware so I could rip my 4K UHD discs too.

So anyway, my point is that the arguments that piracy is "bad for business" and causes companies to "lose money" are full of hot air. If anything, piracy is good for them and increases sales. There have been numerous occasions where I have wanted to download a REMUX and there were no seeders, and decided it would be easier for me to buy the disc and rip it myself.

So, the main takeaways are:

  1. Piracy isn't nearly as bad as the authorities say it is, and may actually increase sales.
  2. Create good-quality encodes.
  3. Seed all your torrents.

TL;DR: Started buying and ripping my own Blu-rays due to dissatisfaction with low-quality encodes and lack of seeders.

So folks for quite some time i have been curious as to how people webdl and after doing research a bit i found out the way to dl from streaming sites like crunchyroll.

Got the video and audio decrypted with mp4decrpt and it worked wonders. tho it's not as easy as i am making it out to be

Coming to my real question. Does this process work for let's say DRM encrypted music too? There's amazon music and apple music which offer Lossless music but since i don't have a subscription to them i couldn't try it.

I know many of you might not like sharing information like this. but i would really like to learn, since this isn't reddit anymore information can be shared freely but if u prefer you could PM me

Does anyone know any good sites to download concert bootlegs?

I'm a very casual sailor, and not very tech savvy, but I've torrented and used magnet links in the past with no issues.

I found the file I'm looking for. But things have changed. The site I used doesn't provide magnets anymore, only Rapidgator links (split into 5 rar files, this is going to take me days) for direct downloads .

Every other link I found sends me to torrent trackers I need to create an account for, such as RuTracker. Which I tried, and with different emails, (brand new emails) yet every time I get rejected. Why? What am I doing wrong? Do I need to wait a couple of hours after creating the account? Are the sites not accepting registrations anymore?

Hi yall, i wanted to ask if there's somewhere a cracked version of Rocksmith+ (the subscription based game, not the 2014 Version) or if something like that is even possible?

My searches for it didn't yield any (trustworthy) results so far.

Qbittorrent Guidance (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by Rodrigo_de_Mendoza@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com

My last foray into Torrenting was when TWC was taken over by Spectrum and I was using uTorrent like crazy. We had Spectrum ONE week and I got a DMCA letter. This is the type of thing I'm trying to avoid.

Although I've found a lot of information on Qbittorrent, I would like to know from some long-time users what are the minimum things I must set within the client to be safe, discrete but also have a good Download/Upload experience. I am using ExpressVPN.

Thanks so much!

Ad blocking on android (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by Nimous@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com

I would like to pirate on my phone sometimes and the ads on websites are problem. I'm not newbie, I know I can install firefox and get the uBlock on it but firefox android is a little bit slow so I prefer to use Opera browser; opera has an ad blocker but it's a joke compared to uBlock. I'm in a restricted country and my phone is not rooted, so if I use ad block apps like AdAway or Adgaurd they need to create a VPN connection in order to function unless the phone is rooted, and that VPN connection doesn't let me to enable another VPN in order to visit filtered websites or apps.

I'm not stuck, but felt if I ask here there may be another smart solution for ad blocking on android that can solve these small problems; and the solution would help other people so be kind and provide what you have.
