I only use free VPN extensions or apps and I fully aware of the limitation of this. I use shabby ones, which don't protect and probably sell my data. It slow and I can't have only a few location. But I can't get around the idea that people can pay for a service to refuse to pay to a service. Please help me understand.

I run arch and have never tried pirating games on a Linux distro before. Mostly just movies and music but I've run some cracks on my girlfriends windows install so I'm not unfamiliar with it. Would most game cracks run through lutris? Or would I have to download from some place like gog?

The issue is that if you are using a VPN the only payment option is through Coinbase which I have no idea how to use.

ok, i usually get a big bunch of .torrent files once a month, run a short filtering and dump them all into transmission on a seedbox.

this worked fine with firefox and downthemall extension. however probably due to ff permanent and non stoppable upgrading the extension no longer works. while trying to figure it out i thought that maybe there are other/better ways. so, if you bulk download how have you organised it?

i still want to

get the files as search results (according to searcf filters),

be able to get rid of duplicates (which are renamed like filex(1).torrent so easily to be found and removed)

and have a look at them before handing them off to transmission

I'd be interested to hear which ones you've tried and how active the community is. They don't need to be currently active or a replacement for a game's existing multiplayer services. It could be something like Zandronum which allows you to play the classic Doom or NVMP-X which allows you to play Fallout New Vegas with friends.

Most of these services don't contain DRM so you can use Steam, GOG, Humble Bundle, or any other version of the game and because they are community run you don't have to worry about servers going down as time goes on and can potentially host your own games.

I also like to make a special mention of X Link Kai which allows you to play system link games remotely. If you are curious I'd check out ConsoleMods.org for setup instructions and their website for a list of supported games.

There's plenty of other similar services out there depending on what console you are using such as Insignia for the original Xbox.

I'd love to see these communities grow.

Hello. I have now recently set up an i2p torrenting system connected to jellyfin. The upside is that I pay zero to vpns and i2p actually has a pretty awesome selection of movies and tv shows (postman ftw). For real, i feel like i2p is where it’s at right now in the torrenting world, as it completely bypasses the need to trust vpns. And torrenting over i2p doesn’t hurt the network like torrenting over tor. The downside is that download speeds per torrent is way lower, but i just wait a couple of days for torrents to finish.

Now, I seed and I give back to the community, but I feel like i need to do more and apply my skillset. I believe in piracy as an idea. Democratizing access to information is a noble pursuit, and seeders are the backbone to piracy and the idea of free access to information. But i want to do more. I want to learn how to crack drm, how to be at the source of information. As companies put in more complicated drm and enforce draconian copyright laws, i fear it might not be enough to just be a seeder. To win this ongoing war, we need more crackers.

Is there any tool that can scan the titles and artists and go find the flac version of songs from SoulSeek or something? The list contains various artists and genres so finding them manually will take a lot of time.

It looks like a bitcoin miner was included in the installer, and the admins on 1337x may or may not give a shit apparently. Scanned my pc and my wifes and found the same stuff the others mentioned.

According to the other comments, don't feel the need to uninstall as the miner was installed separate to the game, just give a Malwarebytes scan to get rid of the junk.

A user named VitaminX uploaded bitcoin miner attached to an installed for BG3. The admins removed the upload after community protests went viral, but VitaminX is for some reason not banned.

Is the site compromised? Was VitaminX splitting the profits with a rogue admin?

Does anyone know of a digital player or Android app that supports DVD ISOs to include the menus and chapters? I've found quite a few that can handle BD and UHD ISOs but any that support DVD ISOs are janky at best. I have a large number of DVDs I want to back up and not convert them to MKVs because I want the menus and extras too.
