I know it's against the rules to request links to specific titles, but I assume it's okay to ask generally. (Still, let me know if this should be taken down.) I'm looking for sources of an obscure cryptid-hunting show from the 2000s. It's like popcorn to me, I just can't help watching it.

I'm looking for recommendations of sites that might have it. Direct downloads, torrents, or streaming are all fine, I can make it work one way or another. It's available to stream with ads on Amazon, so I'm sure there's some pirated copies floating around out there.

Hello my fellow pirates I have a question for all. Is there a way to remove pop up ads from my mobile game ? They have been getting really annoying lately and wanted to know if there is a way to remove them. Thank you all for taking the time to comment.

Hey fellow saltdogs! :D

I have a jellyfin server running on an old laptop. Now I have the jellyfin Android app and would want to play content with subtitles (anime weeabooo), Cast to my Chromecast. I was using VLC player as an external player on Android but casting with subtitles is not supported. Max Player had a lot of adds I have heard (?).

Anyone watching their content with subtitles via Chromecast? What player are you using?

it just seems like the goto of tpb is kind of feeling abandoned as a source of content at times and wondering if there's anything new out there I should look for to get my hands on something like an apple silicon version of Sketchup.

I've only got a couple of categories, one for sonarr, prowlarr (for some reason), and Games. They each have their save path set and thus I would expect any torrent added under the Games category would be saved in the path set for that category. But they're not, they're dumped in the default save path making that folder a hot mess. What's the deal? Why are categories so terrible?

I started with XMBC then Kodi then Plex on a succession of Raspberry Pis. Then, four years ago, I switched to running Plex on a Shield Pro.

Now, I am trying to pick up enough Linux and Docker knowledge to be able to set up a Plex server, just for video, with automated RSS torrent management, running in Docker on an 8GB Raspberry Pi 4 running Raspbian Bullseye.

I am not a technologist by trade, so hoping to find a Docker image that enables that without needing a lot of additional Linux plumbing to make it work. I am old and mostly rely on rudimentary UNIX skills left over from the late-'80s.

Thanks for considering!

I used to be much more knowledgeable about releases, groups and naming conventions. As I mostly moved off piracy and only use it occasionally, the release titles started getting less and less readable to me.

What was TS versus TC? How about IT, etc.

Dropping any release to Chat GPT and asking it to break it down works surprisingly well. Open AI's model is apparently very versed in release naming conventions - so if you're ever stumped like I often am - now you have a tool to help you out.

Quote from the article: “The inclusion of intrusive DRM softwares [sic] like Denuvo is a choice that yields an unfair punishment on the consumer,” Running With Scissors says. “Respect the consumer, make a game they want to play, and you will never feel the need to fight piracy. The gaming industry deserves a better future, fight for that.”

Status: 🟢 AVAILABLE

Ahoy, fellow lemmings!

I was gifted a SkyShowtime voucher for an electronics purchase but piracy is somewhat legal and easy in the Czech Republic, so I won't use it.

You'll most likely have to VPN into the Czech Republic to use the voucher but the (limited!) range of shows will be also available in English, Spanish, Polish or Hungarian. IDK if the UI language can be set. A dollar will also be blocked from your credit card but will be returned when you cancel the subscruption.

To claim the voucher, DM me your e-mail and "My Czech VPN is ready. I promise not to watch Deer Squad" so that I can make sure that you will be able to use it. The first person will be sent an e-mail with the code and instructions on how to redeem it. I will provide support if you encounter any issues.

Note that the selection of shows is limited and most are shit. Highlights include (not guaranteed to be available):

  • Shrek movies (all of them I think)
  • Madagascar (all of them I think)
  • Puss in Boots 1 & 2
  • Avatar: The Last Airbender
  • Spongebob Squarepants
  • The Office
  • Forrest Gump
  • Green Mile
  • Pulp Fiction
  • Dexter
  • Dr House
  • Schindler's List
  • Indiana Jones movies
  • The Birds (1963)
  • Inside Man (2006)
  • Land of the Lost (2009)
  • Nocebo (2022)
  • Mr. Robot (2015-2019)
  • Twin Peaks (1990-2017)
  • Billions (2016-2023)
  • Californication (2007-2014)
  • Heroes (2006-2010)
  • Frasier
  • Bates Motel
  • The Usual Suspects

For the last 2 months, I've been reaching out to every single IPTV provider I could find online to compare their services. After trying out close to 30 services and ranking them in a spreadsheet, I was surprised by the huge gap in quality. At this point I started to get curious, I thought, "How good can it really get?"

Turns out it can get pretty good. Eventually I found a handful of providers with real stable, 4K (2160p) sports streams at 50fps with full PPV and F1 TV coverage. Obviously, they are a little more pricey at around $15 for a 1-month sub on average. But it's worth every penny if you ask me.

I thought it would be cool to have some kind of public directory, or I could just share my spreadsheet, since this information is really hard to come by on the internet. But a directory grows stale over time if it's not constantly updated. Also, there's constant pricing changes, providers pop up and others disappear, lots of scammers to avoid, and people may have valuable additional info to contribute.

So I set up Open Supply and invited a bunch of the providers to post. There are only a few providers here currently, but the list will be growing. You can check out the IPTV Subs community here: https://lemmy.opensupply.space/c/iptv_subs

OR

Search for it: !iptv_subs@lemmy.opensupply.space

This took a lot of work to set up, if you happen to try out an IPTV service in this list, I only ask that you come back and leave an informative positive/negative review for other people who'll come along in the future. Thanks!

Also, is it possible to get this community officially added to the megathread? I think this info is super valuable.

EDIT: For everyone asking for the spreadsheet to see the 4K providers, all the best 4K ones are already in the community, if they are not, they will be posting soon, just join the discord/telegram and ask them for a free 24hr trial and get streaming. Remember to leave a review after you try them out.

I need a guide for the Android Lucky Patcher to make my game-cracking easier. Can anyone recommend a good one?

Here I found 2,

I only tried uploading HYBRID, not V2.

https://thepiratebay.org/

https://ext.to/

update for SEO: 1337x.to also supports hybrid, seems that sites that don't support this feature are in the minority.

I can't explain it, something about the freedom of acquisition takes the pressure off and lets me just launch it and try it out.

Maybe it's easier to pay some money and hit "install", than it is to find a torrent, download it and go through the install process, so there's a selection bias there.

Maybe it's the fact I downloaded it exactly when I decided to and not when a sale happened or it was in a bundle.

But even then, when I decide I want something right now and I pay full-price, something about that just puts a psychological barrier in between me and enjoying the game. Like now I have to validate the purchase, and if I want a refund it has to happen within 2 weeks, and within 2 hours of play (for steam). It's just an unpleasant feeling.

Even worse is the subscription model. I absolutely hate the pressure of having to try all the games I put on my list before the end of the month so I don't have to renew to keep trying them, that just feels like wasted money. But then about a week into the month I'll lose my energy for trying new games and I'll let the sub lapse and never try a bunch of the games I wanted to. It's the worst way to pay for games, even if on paper it's the cheapest for trying a bunch of them legally.

Very occasionally a game will come along that I know I want and will happily pay for immediately, and usually that means I'll give it a decent try.

The best experience for me is pirating a game and loving it so much I then buy it, that guarantees I'm going to play it a lot. The latest game that happened to me with was A Dance of Fire and Ice. I bought it like 5 times, once each for me and my two kids, and twice on phone, and I was completely happy to. I even built a custom rhythm controller for it.

Funny story though - the pirated version of ADOFAI puts savegames in user folders, but the steam version puts them in the game folder, so it merges the progress between users. So for that reason, the pirated version is better. I can't explain the discrepancy.

https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/a64ef85085e7db98244dd2128b2674f02e7fd0dff3ba393525edeedcb5ad6044/detection

I downloaded it from androeed.ru, which is in the megathread. However, it has 16 detections, and it's labled trojan, and I never used androeed.ru before, so idk how trustable it is.

Still I'm tempted to install it since sandbox found no Network comms. But I'm new to piracy so I think I should ask here first.

Thanks for replying! Edit to provide a bit more info:

  1. This is a mod apk file for a paid game called sproggiwood, so I thought it would be normal to drop files like /libandroeedru.so, you know, to unlock game or something.

  2. The site androeed.ru is in the 2nd place in "Android Cracked/Modded App Markets & Repos" list, right after mobilism, so I thought it was a famous piracy site as well. (I'm new to piracy, so idk. Is it famous?)

  3. This file was uploaded to androeed at 2020, which means if it is indeed malicious, the site is unsafe since 2020, so it should be removed from megathread long time ago. Is the megathread that outdated?

  4. Trojan means it steals info via internet. And virustotal said it only contacted 5 domains: 1: clientservices.googleapis.com 2: connectivitycheck.gstatic.com 3: gmscompliance-pa.googleapis.com 4: gstatic.com 5: infinitedata-pa.googleapis.com Does this mean the detections are false positives or am I missing something?

I'm at a loss. Please help! Thank you very much.

I was shocked that Rockstar was caught using cracks in off-releases (!!!), then they tried to "crack" themselves, ran into their own anti-piracy measures and left it like that! The game is unplayable.

It's funny that the pirates didn't face any of these measures and cracked the game correctly.

After a recent data loss, I'm reconsidering various CODECs before re-encoding my re-pirated "loot". I'm looking to maintain a good balance between quality and file size as my previous files were HUGE. I've read about x264, h264, h265 & vp9 for video and it's between AAC or AC-3 for audio. I'm looking for long-term and broad device compatibility. Also, I'll be using FFBatch front-end for ffmpeg for re-encoding. So, fellow pirates, what are your libraries coded in? Any helpful input would be greatly appreciated.

I am struggling to get my proxy setup to work, as described here https://support.nordvpn.com/Connectivity/Proxy/1047410732/Proxy-setup-on-uTorrent.htm

I successfully got the nordvpn login and password, added it to the connection GUI of qbittorrent on my Debian gnu Linux machine, and applied the settings. I use the nl.socks.nordhold.net proxy server, and port 1080. But the final test with the magnet link from ipleak.net fails, and I never see the data from the magnet URL.

Does such a setup work for anyone else out there? How can I debug the setup?

So... During covid lockdowns I pretty much didn't leave my house. I did contract work that required zero human interaction, my groceries were contactless pickup, and none of my hobbies required other people. I recently started a new job and my social skills are downright awful. What are you supposed to do with your hands when you talk? What facial expressions should you make? How is your voice supposed to sound?

I did some internet research and found out I'm not the only one who lost their social skills after being isolated for 3 years. But anything I can find for advice is either generic/unhelpful, leads down the alt right rabbit hole, or is ungodly expensive. I'm hoping to find some basic introductory acting courses - voice training, method acting, improv, etc - that could help me stay flexible in conversations without freezing up. Is that possible? Are there any acting courses available to torrent?
