Hi. I am currently pirating on a dedicated server (Debian 12) running i2p, jellyfin, qBittorrent-nox, and a vpn. I tried mullvad for a bit but need to get air VPN set up now. My current setup to actually get content to jellyfin is this:

1. Try to find it on i2p, if there skip to step 4
2. SSH into server and turn on vpn + qBittorrent
3. Torrent Linux ISOs
4. SSH again and copy the file into jellyfin (really space inefficient, would love a solution to this in particular without shitloads of symlinks.)
5. Rename files to work with jellyfin
6. Login to jellyfin and refresh libraries
7. If Linux ISO not on i2p, cross seed

Obviously this sucks. I know *arr would help, but I don’t know how to set up a VPN to not interfere with jellyfin connections to outside of LAN.

How would you go about automating this? Do you think I am a complete idiot going about it all wrong? (I know I do) Have any of you found a solution to vpns interfering with jellyfin?

I've used most available services, but discontinued one after another along with promises that a better user experience will be provided with reduced content and removed functionality with the slight price hike. YouTube was my first and last video service I paid for, only Spotify remains on the borderline.

I have some files that have multiple audio tracks and several subtitle tracks, all of which are marked default. I'd like to remove the default from all the subtitle tracks and all-but-one of the audio tracks (and possibly move the audio track to be the first track). How would I do that?

Not piracy, but I figured this is the best community to find people knowledgeable about this. I want to set up an open VPN server at my home and then go on a trip to another country for a week. If I connect my phone to my home VPN and connect my work laptop to my phone's internet through a hotspot, will my work laptop only be able to see my home's IP? Also my work laptop would need to connect to a work VPN.

Tldr; two devices, phone and work laptop. Phone connects to home VPN and laptop connects to work VPN. Laptop connects to internet through phone's hotspot. Would laptop only be able to see home ip and work VPN ip? Or would it be able to know the actual ip?

I do 90% of my TV watching with local content on kodi, the other 10% is live sports. I know the websites and they work very well (as long as you have an adblocker). My issue is - why is it so much worse on kodi using The Crew or Mad Titan Sports? The streams on those addons are nowhere near as reliable as the streams on the popular websites.

Half of the links on those addons do not work at all, 25% will load and constantly buffer to the point where it is unusable, and the final 25% are OK but will still buffer much more than the websites and occasionally just stop completely and you have to click on it to start it again.

Why are the websites so much better? I want to watch these games on my big TV with my home theater speakers, not on my laptop. And I don't want to fuss with plugging my laptop in for every game. Has anybody found a way to cast a Linux computer to kodi? Or are there better addons that I just haven't found?

1-I'm not exactly tech savvy. (Ok. I'm thick as a brick) 2-I'm a very casual BitTorrent user. I'll go months without torrenting.

3-I do stream more frequently.

4-I travel often, meaning I don't often have admin access to the networks I connect to

I currently have Nord. I heard it's no longer as trusted as it used to, and since my subscription is ending I'm wondering if I should jump ship.

I read I should be using Port Forwarding, and I get the concept of it somewhat but I'm still not sure if I need it (considering my casual torrent use, so far... I've been ok?), and also, I have no idea how to set that up. (would #4 be a problem?).

Now, VPN: Mullvad, AirVPN, and Proton seem to be the most reliable ones. Is that right?

Air has good pricing atm, and port forwarding. I heard it's not too user friendly though? (#1)

Mullvad seems to have a solid rep. but no port forwarding (It used to? Their website doesn't say much unless I create an account?)

Proton: has PF, seems good too

Or should I just stick with Nord?

TLDR which VPN should I go for considering 1,2,3,4, and should I consider port forwarding in my decision?

I used to use Pinterest for fan-dom image collecting (anime, manga, movies, books and such). However Pinterest new policy is ridiculous. Every day a pin gets removed for the most ridiculous BS.

Hello pirates! I've recently started high school, which means that I now get money from the state, which also means that my parents no longer pay for my Spotify premium. I could probably afford it, but I'd rather save my money, so I've been looking into different ways of obtaining music for free.

One thing that really caught my eye is Soulseek. It seems like a good option for my needs + I could set up a server on my raspberry pi to be able to access all of my music from anywhere.

My biggest concern is getting in trouble with the authorities, because my parents would kill me if the cops came knocking on our door due to me pirating stuff. So I was wondering whether it would be worth it to spend some money on a VPN (and which one), or if I should just raw dog it and not use a VPN at all? I live in Sweden, and I haven't found any cases of people getting arrested for pirating music, but it is technically illegal afaik.

Browsing the internet I found this app called VMOS which is basically an Android emulator inside Android and it's great for testing or playing pirated games, the problem is that the app is almost completely in Chinese and I was curious to investigate how much the "Premium" version that unlocks root access and other things was worth and to save me work (I know) I asked Perplexity IA how much the premium version or membership was worth and their answer was that.

I dont want to seem ungreatful, I downloaded a really rare piece of music history that way (over almost 2 weeks) and am seeding it now. But I am genuiently interested, how this happens. Surely no connection is that bad, even with vpn and up/down-limit?

What media have you found in best quality or even only with the methods of the high seas?

I am not looking for: "I only use my super jellyfin and so on setup because its almost free". But rather I want to hear if you found rare pieces of media which are maybe even lost otherwise.

My results aren't great for books. Lot of titles aren't automatically found. Readarr and Calibre integration is janky. My indexers don't have a lot of titles.

I can manually search on Anna's Archive or Libgen and find what I want. However, for the rest of my family to really use it, it needs to be easy like the rest of my setup.

(Disclaimer: yes, I bought a $180 4TB Crucial SSD too, but my family split the cost with me since they're going to use my Jellyfin server. Whether that counts towards the final cost is up to you. And the electricity cost is pretty negligible to run a Le Potato as a server, but I guess you can count that too.)

So this all started rather innocently. I was fed up with all the ads being shoved in my face with everything I do, so I finally decided that it was time to set up a Pi-hole on a single board computer. For me, it ended up being a Le Potato. I had never even touched Linux prior to this, so it took me a day or so to get everything set up. I love learning new things so I kind of got hooked on learning my way around Linux basics and decided that I was going to upgrade my setup to a Pi-hole + VPN using wireguard. That was kind of a beast to configure as a novice but I got that to work after about a week. Now I was getting ad free content anywhere I wanted on my phone. I rode that high for a few weeks until I realized that I was just scratching the surface of what I could do with my little $30 Linux server setup and this is where I really got to upgrade.

I had learned of Jellyfin from LTT and decided that I was going to test it out. I set up the Jellyfin server on the Le Potato and I was off to the races. Now I just needed content. I read through some of the wiki and settled on Mullvad+qbittorrent to find the content I wanted. With everything configured it still didn't really feel complete, so I set up profiles for my family members and gave them their own passwords to access the content. I quickly realized that 64 GB was not nearly enough (without a rolling library) and I was getting annoyed with having to constantly swith the flash drive I was using between the Le Potato and the laptop where I was downloading my content. So I went out and bought a 4TB USB SSD from Crucial and set up access as a NAS on Ubuntu with Samba.

It's just now finally set up. My family texts me to let me know what it is they're wanting to watch, I torrent it, upload it to my NAS, and Jellyfin streams that content to my family 100% free. I've turned my 6 family members into pirates and they barely even realize it.
