So a user on Reddit posted on the Starfield subreddit that there was a problem in Starfield when running the game on an AMD Radeon GPU. The issue is very simple, the game just won't render a star in any solar system when you are at the dayside of a moon or even any planetary object. The issue only occurs on AMD Radeon GPUs and users with the Radeon RX 7000 & RX 6000 GPUs are reporting the same thing.

The issue is that the dayside of any planetary body or moon needs a source of light that gets it all lit up. That source is the star and on any non-AMD GPU, you will see the star/sun in the sky box which will be illuminating light on the surface. But with AMD cards, the star/sun just isn't there while the planet/moon remains illuminated without any light source.

Corden made the claim in the latest edition of his podcast, The Xbox Two Podcast, in a broader conversation about the pros of established studios sticking to the development blueprint that made their games so special versus the cons of taking risks and innovating, only for it to instantly crash and burn.

Reflecting on Bethesda's success with Starfield and its recycling of so many of the things we've come to expect from the team's internal development studios, Corden's thoughts turned to Mass Effect, which had phenomenal success with its first three games (Mass Effect 3's controversial ending aside), but struggled to make a similar impact with follow-up Andromeda. And that's when he made the revelation.

"I've heard that Mass Effect is ditching open world," Corden said, "and going back to its classic format. I don't know if that's accurate, 100 per cent, but it's an industry rumour."

Speaking to the Dungeons & Dragons YouTube channel, Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke admitted that the developers feared some low scores for Baldur's Gate 3 due to potential bugs encountered by reviewers. This explains why review codes were only sent a handful of days before the PC launch.

We were worried, like, they're gonna score it six out of ten, seven out of ten. There's going to be a bug, something's going to happen, it's going to break down, everybody's going to hate it. So that was literally our mentality going in, knowing that the content was good, but we were afraid of that. That was the thing that frightened us the most because it's a very big game, and so we know that stuff can go wrong, although the game usually finds a way of settling back on its feet.

Voice and motion capture actor Neil Newbon, known to fans of Baldur's Gate 3 as Astarion, is streaming a co-op let's play of Baldur's Gate 3 alongside friend and horror writer-director Tom de Ville. As they stream they laugh along to the game, and yeah, Newbon does The Astarion Voice a lot when he's in control of, you know, the character he played in the game.

Blizzard says it's taking "big steps" to discourage cheating, and has banned over 250,000 players since Overwatch 2 launched as part of its "zero-tolerance policy toward cheating and botting".

In a detailed update posted to the official website, the team revealed what it was doing to tackle "disruptive behaviour and cheating", as well as disruptive chat and griefing issues "that negatively impact many multiplayer video games".

"We've been taking big steps to help discourage and remove disruptive behaviour and cheating and wanted to share more details with you," the team began. "Defense Matrix is the name for our collection of efforts to quell the cheating, disruptive chat, and griefing issues that negatively impact many multiplayer video games, including Overwatch 2.

A fire has destroyed part of the offices of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl developer GSC Game World.

As reported by Vortex (thanks, @HazzadorGamin), the fire broke out at the team's Prague office on Thursday and while, thankfully, no one was injured, the fire has devastated one of the three floors the studio uses, and now requires "complete reconstruction".

Hello, I am looking to buy a new laptop, and I noticed that the GIGABYTE G5 with rtx 3060 is currently at available at a very good price for me at ~900$. I cannot find a similar specced device for that price anywhere. Is it good enough to buy, or should I wait for another better deal?

Also is amazon safe for this?

Our review of the ASUS ROG Ally (with Z1 Extreme) handheld gaming PC tests it primarily against the Steam Deck, including gaming performance, frametimes, thermals, acoustics, battery life and charging, noise samples, and impressions of hardware and software. This is a showcase review for us -- it's detailed, but a fun excuse for our team to throw everything at a device for an in-depth review that teaches us (and hopefully the audience) about some of the testing processes at the same time. We also tried to look at the MicroSD card 'melting' issues with the ROG Ally, only to find that our MicroSD card reader on our Ally was dead within 2 hours of gaming and prior to ever being used for a card.

Handheld gaming device specialist Ayaneo has finalized its highly anticipated RGB keyboard-packing portable device. On its Discord channel, the firm confirms the Ayaneo Slide is now in trial production.

There haven’t been many handheld PCs that pack in a slider mechanism to reveal a physical keyboard; we think the only other model comes from form factor stalwart GPD. However, this still allows Ayaneo to boast its device is the first such design with an RGB backlit keyboard. Of course, the components are thoroughly modern, too.

Previously released specifications indicate that the Ayaneo Slide will come packing an AMD Phoenix processor – no surprise. Specifically, an official teaser from July says that the Ryzen 7 7840U has been chosen.

Saturnalia, the acclaimed survival horror from MirrorMoon EP developer Santa Ragione, is shaking off the shackles of Epic Games Store exclusivity and coming to Steam this October - and ahead of its launch, a 40-minute demo is now available on Valve's platform.

Saturnalia - which Eurogamer contributor Simon Parkin called a "horrible nightmare in all the right ways" in his Recommended review last year - whisks players away to the ancient, ever-shifting village of Gravoi, for an adventure heavily inspired by Sardinia folklore.

Donald Mustard may not be the most well-known name in gaming, but he's definitely one of the most influential. For the past seven years he's been the chief creative officer at Epic Games and "Loremaster of Fortnite"—the big hand on the wheel of one of the biggest videogame phenomena of all time. But soon that era will come to an end, as Mustard has announced that he is retiring.

Mustard's first videogame credit, according to Mobygames, is on the 2002 action game Bloodrayne. In 2005 he co-founded Chair Entertainment, the developer of the Xbox shooter Undertow, which was acquired by Epic Games in 2008. Mustard remained as creative director at the studio, helming the development of Shadow Complex and the Infinity Blade mobile games, until 2016 when he became CCO at Epic.

Starfield players continue to push the game—and their computers–to the limit by spawning thousands of items in inappropriate places, like stuffing 20,000 potatoes in a spaceship. Watching potatoes roll out of an air lock is great, but what if you could watch 10,000 milk cartons descend onto a population zone like a lactic artillery strike?

Rejoice, PC gamers, for the lord of texture mods has now announced the Starfield HD Reworked Project is underway. Modder Halk Hogan originally rose to fame for his The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project. His work turned out to be so great that CD Projekt RED decided to include a version of the texture overhaul mod in the Next-Gen edition released in late 2022. This March, he also released Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked Project for CD Projekt RED's latest game.

Now, Halk Hogan is working on the Starfield HD Reworked Project to improve the visual quality of the textures created by Bethesda. As you can see in the preview footage below, the graphics fidelity enhancement is sometimes truly massive.

Valve's next entrant in the VR industry is highly anticipated amongst fans, given that the Valve Index was well received. It is now being reported that a new "Valve Hardware' has been certified in South Korea, indicating that the company is indeed prepping for the next step in VR.

The VR expert Brad Lynch disclosed the RRA (Radio Research Agency) certification on Twitter, with Valve applying for certification for a new '1030' hardware. While it isn't confirmed that the certification is based on Valve's next VR device, the analysis is made based on the fact that the details mentioned in the certification match the ones of the Meta Quest 3 and HTC VIVE XR Elite; hence, it could be said that Valve is preparing to release something in that domain, especially since they said not long ago that a proper Deck 2 device wouldn't be released until the hardware improvement was significant.

My hands-off demo starts with a short boot-up sequence that mimics the style, architecture and puzzles of the original game. It's after this that The Talos Principle 2 reveals the ace up its sleeve. You are born into the world—the 1,000th citizen of the city of New Jerusalem, and, according to the rules of their society, also the last. In an effort to avoid the mistakes of the past, the robots strive for ecological austerity. 1,000 people. That's it. That's their lot.

This easter egg is nestled in Act 1 of the game and highlighted by Reddit user Sapowski_Casts_Quen. They discovered that Auntie Ethel, everyone's favourite hag and charming lass, may actually owe their name to a specific bit of Dungeons and Dragons writing.

...

And would you believe it, Auntie Ethel just so happens to be one of the possible outcomes of using said table. This is cool to the layman now, just learning of this little reference now after the fact, but it's especially cool that a Dungeons and Dragons player who really knows their stuff could figure out that Auntie Ethel is a hag before the game tips its hand.

I've had a chance to play Ghostrunner 2 now, and I can't stress enough that it has a motorbike.

To say that developer One More Level has decided that you can't get enough of a good thing would be an understatement. Ghostrunner 2 is precisely that, more of a good thing. Now, the good thing has been expanded in ways to make it an improved good thing, but if you liked Ghostrunner, then Ghostrunner 2 will likely be the game for you. I realise that is essentially the summary of a preview or review, and I will have to explain myself, so explain I will.
