I want a task manager for kde and if it could sync with google tasks or something it'd be swell

You can now test version 6 of KDEs Plasma Desktop by using the unstable edition of KDE Neon. Not all distributions offer an easy way of installing Plasma 6, for now (for good reasons, too).

I only know of one other distribution, that offers an easy way of testing a Plasma 6 version: KaOS: https://kaosx.us/news/2023/kaos04/ (Feel free to add comments to other distributions or e.g. wiki pages with easy installation instructions).

Be aware that in any of the above versions, there will very likely be lots of (smaller and bigger) bugs, as this isn't even considered an Alpha-Release, yet, and still heavily in development.

If you are hosting a lemmy server and encounter federation issues (e.g, you can't find your instance from your Mastodon account), there is a bug fix for that here: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ansible/pull/114

I've deployed it to lemmy.kde.org, and it should now be possible to follow @kde :) #kde #lemmy

Recently I switched to KDE Plasma on all of my devices and I like it a lot, however one thing I would still like to see is a virtual machine KDE application. I would be more than happy to get my hands dirty, however I don't quite know what I am expecting so I have a few questions:

• As far as I am aware, Boxes is just an interface, written with GTK, for QEMU. Is doing the same with Kirigami feasible for a solo developer.
• Moreover I am quite profound in C++ and programming in general, but I never worked on bigger projects
• I am quite amazed by Parallels in MacOs, would it be possible to copy some features for KDE, i.e a vm occupying a whole virtual desktop, or single windows "popping" out of the vm.

just curious, why does https://krita.org/ is in Spanish, and https://krita.org/en in English?

I've almost successfully convinced my girlfriend to ditch Windows, so I'll probably install kubuntu on her laptop soon. She uses the pc only for very basic operations, web browsing, office suite and a little bit of gaming.
I wanted to customize KDE Plasma so that the switch from Windows will be the simpler as possible. What customization would you suggest me?

Hello! KDE plasma wayland session on fedora 37 here. I noticed that the brightness (even if the indicator always shows 100%) is "less bright" with the charger unplugged, and brighter with the charger plugged in.
the strange thing is that this does not happen instantly, when I unplug it it slowly lowers the brightness, almost imperceptibly, and in about 4~5 seconds it stops at a lower brightness. the same happens when I plug it back.
am I the only one with this problem? googling it returned only unrelated issues.

(note, in settings > energy saving the option to change screen brightness on battery power is unchecked)
