Jerboa should update its Google Play preview images. The images look very outdated and not very eye pleasing and it doesn't reflect how great and nice this client truly has become!

The UI seems pretty intuitive so far but there is one thing I can't figure out how to do: how the hell do I hide a post??

I just mean a regular post that I've seen (and am finished with). On Boost for Reddit there was a check mark for hiding a post. Is there anything similar here?

Instead of opening the link inside the app it opened it on browser. I understand there are many instances available and it may not be easy to code everything into the app. But i don't know how but Please look into this.

I am really interested to know which people are on which instances. It would be cool to see that information below username on comments. Of course you can keep it hidden by default for simplicity sake. But give us an option to enable it.

Anyone know why the devs went with the exclamation point for communities, instead of the hashtag/pound sign?

@ is usually for users, # for grouping, IRC rooms, and other platforms 'channels'

Just an odd choice in my opinion, probably too late to change now.

Hi all, apologies if this question has already been answered elsewhere or if it is not welcome (I am a noob here and don't know exactly how to search properly), but I was curious of the question in the title. Many of the largest Lemmy instances are struggling and it would be great to be able to use some of the smaller ones. However, at the moment only a select view instances are available in the Jerboa.

When i press a parent comment it hides all child comment but then parent comment also becomes hidden. Please change this behavior. Comments shouldn't hide for a single press . When you long press the parent comment it should only hide all its child comments. Parent comment should still be visible.

I don't like some posts on my feed. I cannot find any option to hide it, on sync for reddit i could just swipe it to left and it will be hidden. Please add that feature.

I posted a picture and I noticed it put it wrong side up. The picture I uploaded was taken the right way. Can someone help me why it did what it did? I used this new android app to upload and post.

I just wanted to say I appreciate the work you've down on this app and look forward to future improvements. While there's a flood of suggestions and complaints let's all remember to keep it civil and understand that it's going to take time and work to improve this app. While some of the suggestions may seem nit picky or like whining remember we all just want to improve the experience here!

You can click on the little link icon but that's less intuitive imo

I'm not getting any notifications from the app which is the main reason Installed it. If anyone knows any way to get notifications pushed to my phone I'm interested.

If I leave the app for a short time, I come back and it tells me 'not_logged_in' and to perform any task it prompts me to log in. Even after doing this, it still shows these messages until I choose 'switch to account' in the side menu.

Problem is, not only does it log me out again after a short time. My account disappears from the side menu and I have to 'add account' again. Strangely, even though it forgets my account, if I tap the person icon on the bottom right of the screen, it's still listed there.

I'm using lemmy.world and android 13.

During this week i have observed the development activities on this projects GitHub page. Exiting times up ahead!

Just wondering; Is this app scheduled to be updated (delivered via Google Play Store / F-Droid) once a week or month? Alternatively once certain objectives are accomplished by dev team?

Appreciate the clearification regarding this project with its ongoing activities.

Since Jerboa uses a CI different than Github Actions, is there a way to try new builds (e.g. after a commit in main) without having to compile? Just curious

The subscriptions list only updates when I close and reopen the app. Is there a fix for this?

It took me a while to see the white on light grey label saying Anonymous.

Also, for new users it may not be obvious that that's where you need to press to log in and they might just wander away before finding it.

Suggestions:

• obviously fix the label colour to follow the theme
• allow the account list to open inline in the settings window if it is short.
• open it automatically, exposing the "Add Account" button, when it is empty.
• make the account button in the bottom right corner go to an account select-or-create screen when you are not logged in.

I can't figure if it's a bug, design choice, user error, but it's quite odd to keep scrolling down every time after returning from a thread.

It randomly seems to pop up and prevents pages from fully loading. No problems on web.

Also it only seems to do it when I'm logged in.

Please forgive my ignorance but i am new: When i subscribe to a non-local instanced community. I can see the posts from that community only in "all". Is there a way to filter posts by community?

All I see is local or all as options. Am i doing something wrong?
