Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

When adding an acoount to jerboa you have to choose an instance to log in. If i create an account on an instance not listed can i still add this account or is the app only for the listed instances?

  • I'm running into issues with posts and comments showing up. I made a post in this community about 15 minutes ago that does not show up when sort is set to new but it will show when set to hot or active.

  • I'm making comments on posts that won't show up. It says there is a comment by the count on the post but when going on the post is doesn't show it.

  • I'm not finding a sort option for comments. This would be a helpful option. Sorry for a repeat if this has already been brought up.

After I've been browsing for a while, I would like to be able to remove threads that I've already viewed from my feed because when Jerboa auto updates, it always sends me toward the top of my feed and then I have to scroll through a whole bunch of stuff again that I've already seen.

I'm wondering if it's just a me issue but as I'm scrolling feeds and it doesn't matter if it's local or all, new or hot, or any combination after a bit the feed just stops and I can't go any further.

Please add kbin.social support for Jerboa!

Hey guys! So, following up my previous post about the Jerboa icon, I've made new logo as well. I think I will continue working on it, but for the meantime, that's how it looks.

I modified existing lemmy logo, couldn't get longer ears though, wouldn't look right or it would resemble rabbit too much. Added a little tail as well because Jerboas have a really long one, and it looks cute. Main inspiration was Apollo icon, it looks really neat. I think I would like to improve upon the background and maybe change color palette to be more bright, but I want to hear what you think.

Please allow me to change the language of the app inside it.

Sorry if this has already been answered, but how do I open links to other communities in the app? If I click on a link to another community in a comment it just tries to open in chrome. Sorry again if the answer for this is already posted somewhere. Edit: I'm using jerboa on android

Could this feature be added please? I want to join some communities that are getting posted/suggested and then I press the links they open in my browser.

It would be massively better to just tap a link and go to the community instantly inside the app so you can join it. There really isn't an easy way to search for communities yet so it would help immensely.

Thanks in advance!

I am wondering why I can't find some communities when searching the app with the full !community@server. Searching for the same community on the web page works.

No complains though. Great alpha app. And with the level of activity on the git Im very excited

Anytime I lost a comment (in a non local community?) it doesn't show up. It's there I just can't see it unless I go to my own profile or someone replies to it.

Did you notice that on Lemmy you're not able to use any alternative apps either?

... I'll see myself out now.

Has anyone thought of a way to group communities by topic, ala multireddits? The only way I can think of now is with multiple accounts, which seems inelegant.

For me at least jerboa feels quite jittery when scrolling posts. My guess is that it is having to load from the server and thats why you get those pauses, i am not absolutely sure on that. If true maybe jerboa needs to request more posts at once.

~~I have it set to All/TopWeek as the default sort, but i when i close and open the app it goes to All/TopDay.~~ Thought i was on 0.0.34 but i was still on 0.0.33

Disregard this

I've seen a lot of people ask about this.

At the moment it seems like tapping on comment replies in my jerboa notifications tab does nothing. Would be ideal to tap it and it take me straight to the comment with context.

The best I can do is go to the page and scroll down until I find the message. Am I missing something or is this just not a feature?

Well, I'm a refugee from Relay for Reddit, and I'm pretty new to all this fediverse thing (but hey, really liking it so far) and this app really captures basically everything I was searching and hoping for - except for one small quality of life implementation, the swipe right to close post, which really improves the overall UX for me. I know this is a developing alpha app, and I will continue to use it regardless, but I wanted to give my 2 cents :)
