I'm on 0.0.33, but I've heard that 0.0.34 is out. How do I update? Will it update automatically eventually? I don't see an option in the play store. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall? Thanks!

I've found that in order to get there subscription list in the tray to update, I have to leave the app and clear it from recent apps before reopening.

I'm having trouble searching for / subscribing to some small communities on small instances. They don't show up in the search. It doesn't matter whether I use the community name or the. !xxx@yyy.zzz format.

I don't know if this is a Jerboa issue or due to my "home" instance or a federation problem.

I'd like to both solve my problem and better understand how federation search works. Anyone have some insight?

And ever since I changed my password, logging in through Jerboa puts me in a shrödinger state of access. I can see my subs and local posts but trying to view my profile or post will return a "not_logged_in" error or ask me to "Login First", and then disconnects the login account I was on and erases the login details for it. Please help.

I'm on the assumption this is a Bug. I've made it so many links i have to other instances SHOULD open in the app by supporting those links. Instead it crashes the app upon clicking the link.

This makes it very inconvenient to find and subscribe to new communities. I would have to look for the community myself after knowing about it since the community which showcases all the new communities doesn't have a hyperlink that works, it just crashes the app and take me back to my home screen.

Quick edit: clicking the links that are supposed to redirect you to the community within your instance crashes it, whether you make it open in the app or on a browser. It just crashes.

Anyone else experiencing this? I'm trying to contribute image content to lemmy and I can't do it from Jerboa :(

I used Boost for Reddit and one of my favorite features was the ability to drag a select few subreddits into a custom list and name it.

So I would have a Gaming feed and could select that and only see subreddits for the 4-5 games I was following at that point.

With the fedeverse, I feel that would be even more useful as there's duplicate communities/magazines popping up.

I'm trying to search for communities or keywords like on the Lemmy browser version. I'm probably just missing something.

EDIT: Solution: There is a hidden sidebar, which you access by swiping from left. There's Anonymous on top if you're not logged in. You click that and have an option to add an account.

Sometimes when I read a post the text color changes, I assume to indicate that I read it, but this isn't consistent. How can I also force it to mark a post as read?

When I open links to other communities in the Lemmyverse, they don't open in Jerboa. They open in chrome. As a result, I'm not logged in and can't subscribe or interact. I've found lots of communities this way but it's a hassle to subscribe to them.

If you moderate a subLemmy you have to use the web app because jerboa has no support for mod actions. I don't currently moderate, but I might and would like to know if mod features will be added.

For some reason "Subscriptions" appears to be grayed out for me in the hamburger menu. Is there a reason for that? Is there any other way to read only my subscriptions?

Seems to be placed exactly where my finger wants to land when I'm not paying attention. I think it should be removed/moved to the full post view.

I'm willing and able to contribute that change myself if other people agree it would be a positive change.

Edit: Ah, realized this issue really only applies if you use the "list" display option. For the "card" display option usernames are far from where you'd typically click, and also account for a much smaller portion of the total clickable space.

I don't want to see these news 'bots' and request a setting to filter them. Maybe by ignoring all posts with less then 20 characters?

It seems lemmy.ml is causing some issues in app. Half the pages and links in try to view when logged into lemmy.ml, cause a blank page and c.jav lang errors or something. I get a short toast of the error messages, not sure how to log.

Many times I don't want to open the post but I want to save it to come back later.

*I'm using Android if that matters. Don't see anyone unless I open the post.

I cant search for some communities that show up in newcommunities, and I hear that thats because no one on my instance has been to them yet. Well, how do I be the first one? I cant join by searching because it wont show up, and if I click on a link there it takes me out of the app to that communities instance, and logs me out, and I cant log in because I only have the option to log in to their instance which I dont have an account on.

Any way this can be fixed in a future release? I've only done a little bit of coding in the past, but this sounds like an index matching error with a hopefully quick fix (i.e., specifying "TopDay" is supposed to return the Xth item in a list, but it's returning the X+1th item instead, hence the sort by old). As a result, Jerboa always shows me posts from four years ago when I open the app.

When I turn my phone sideways, and the screen rotates, I'm logged out and my account is removed, having to be added back again. Is that a known issue or a skill issue?
