Inside jokes farming karma were common in reddit. Is there a way to flag a thread as "inside joke" so that I can auto collapse or filter out comment threads that I don't appreciate?

I am a new user (actually, this is my first post on Lemmy, yay!). I registered through the web, but since my Reddit-use was mainly on my phone, I installed Jerboa (version 0.0.33 from the Play store) and everything seemed nice. I was just scrolling and saw something I wanted to upvote. So I clicked the upvote-button, but I got a message saying I needed to log in for that. Then I tried clicking a reply-button on a comment, but I got the same message.

I double checked, I am definitly logged in.

What's going on here? Is this a known bug with a workaround I need to know or something?

Hey, I've experienced this a few times now. I've clicked an image to view it, but to get a better view I've switched to landscape mode. When this happens, instead of seeing the image still, my feed refreshes. Anyone else getting this? Known bug maybe? Thanks!

I don't use the Play store (don't want a Google account) and prefer to stay away Github because Microsoft. Thanks.

Added: Thanks for the links! Unfortunately it looks like the app requires Android 8.0+ and my phone is still on Android 7. Is that inherent to Jetpack or some other part of the app technology? It would be good to not have to keep churning to the latest shiny.

Lemmy now allows sorting by topHour, top6Hours, top12Hours in browser. Can this be added to Jerboa as well?

I managed to get 34 going again by very quickly and repeatedly tapping the top left corner of the screen (hamburger menu) at startup. Uninstalled and did it again to verify.

Just keep trying if it crashes.

OK so I am fairly tech illiterate, and would like some guidance.

I had been using ver. .33 up until today, very happily I might add, and I decided to try .35 out. I know there were some issue with the .18 ver of lemmy and compatibility so I just wanted to try.

I Uninstalled .33, installed .35 from github. I immediately got an error message about compatibility and ver .18.

OK whatever. Uninstalled. Went back and got .33 , but now the app just crashes. I much prefer and am used to jerboa over the web browser.

Any thoughts ?

Edit: lemmy is pretty unusable right now on web browser, it was working fine until I no longer have the app, the constant refresh is pretty bad, every second there is 100 new posts regardless of how I sort.

Edit2: solved. Repeatedly click hamburger till app stays open. (: thanks @FlayOtters

I'm not sure if this is the right place to request or recommend features so apologies if it's not.

Would really love if I could tap outside an image or swipe it away to close it instead of having to tap the back button. Currently doesn't feel very smooth.

Ok so here is my quick install experience on my phone (Fairphone 4 Android 12)

Installation of Version 0.33 through Googleplay works flawless.

Installation of Version 0.34 through F-Droid crashes on startup.

Installation of Version 0.35 from github runs but I can't login on lemmy.fmhy.ml because the Server Version is below 0.18 sth.

Installed and cant login to lemmy.world. Says some kind of incompatibility with this instance.

If i retry again to login, I dont have no more the option to add an account on settings

I couldn't find an option and it is really bothersome having to change it every time I open the app

I'm on a smaller instance and being able to just add a larger one to my local tab would be great. Also is there a way to turn off nsfw blur?

Not a frequent use-case, but I just like to say thank you to a bunch of other community members who left a reply to one of my comments. I'm asking not because I'm lazy. Well - ok, partially because of that. But leaving a 'Thank you, Mate' to everyone individually just adds overhead without any information. Any suggestions in how to to that?

I saw the release notes about the upcoming version and a question about what "custom tabs" means, so here is a link to the documentation.

I've tried to post images like 5 times and only once was it actually successfull. On my pc it gives a lot of error messages too without really clarifying what format the upload should be. Is there a suggested method (like uploading to imgur first and linking that url) or something?

I updated to 0.0.35 today and get this server version every time the app is opened. Is this a bug? My home server administrator told me that 0.17.4 is the most current server version

It should be named as "saved" but it's says "Search" again.

There's a box in setting called "Use Custom Tabs", but I can't figure out what they are.

The user in this screenshot is just an example. I'd love to be able to receive updates when my favourite users post. Also, this has been a great app to use, and I'm looking forward to future development!
