Jerboa

[BUG] Twice now jerboa has forgotten my account, I have to log in and then restart the app to view my subscribed feed. Might just be because of the update so I'll see if it happens again.

The app works well for the most part, but every now and then, when I tap to get into a comment section, it will go to the comments of an entirely different post. Backing out and trying a second time has worked every time so far. I'm running the app from my Pixel 6 pro if that matters.

Any chance of folders for the subscribed communities, id like to sort the communities into sub folders so when I'm looking for interests i can look in a folder for all of those, for example i sub to lots of Ukrainian communities and would like to see them all in one folder rather than going up and down the communities list.

Anyone else ?

Basically the title. I hate the ad ridden offical Youtube app and would prefer to have it open in Firefox or some other browser. Is this possible? Is there a setting I missed? If it's not possible right now can it be possible in the future?

Also I love Jerboa, perfect replacement for RIF, been very happy with it so far, much love!

The app icon looks much less polished than the app itself. How about we change that?

Right now it sorts in a seemingly random order. Any way to sort comments by "top"?

My biggest gripe with *lemmy is the community search only brings up communities that have already been cached by the instance you're on

At first I would search for communities and be shocked that there's so many that don't exist until I realized I have to manually go on my browser and type myserverurl/c/communityIFoundSomewhereElse@ItsInstance if im the first one from my instance to want to sub to that community

Is there a site that can search all communities that this app can communicate to, then force my instance to cache from a search result?

Would make this app really stand out

The app can obviously determine what we've seen already since it greys the titles of those posts. It would be great if there was a setting to hide those posts by default once they've been viewed.

Since a few days the app doesn't:

Allow me to post, create posts, vote, reply, block communities or persons.

I am writing this via my web browser.

Anyone else?

It's unbelievable and just shows another advantage of open source software.

Just a simple snackbar would do. I assume this is already planned, but figured best to bring attention to it.

Not sure if this is a bug or a feature request, but when I switch to a different app or different view in the app and then go back to the main feed, it puts me back to the top of the feed.

It would be nice if it took me back to where I was before.

Motivation : I like to browse communities one by one and it's not possible to access the menu from within a community or a discussion thread.

Issue: when viewing a post only the first image of the series loads. This most recently happened when I tried to view the single url above.

Edit: I went to the GitHub for jerboa to make a issue and I saw 191 open issues/feature requests. I may just go through and read what is open. Thanks devs for all you do!

When I am making a post or a comment through jerboa, I am having a weird issue where if I backspace/delete, the text of the word I'm writing will combine with the word before it.

As an example, if I type

The quick brown foz

And I backspace to fix the typo, I get this

The quick brownfo

If I keep backspacing to fix the problem, it keeps combining words like this

Thequickbrown

It's very annoying and sometimes I have to delete entire sentences and start over. Also, if I have a wall of text and click somewhere in the text to make an edit, sometimes it will keep typing where I was before. Also annoying.

Does anybody else have this issue? It could be a product of my keyboard, which is Open Board from F-Droid. But I usually only have issues like this when trying to type my information into websites that aren't designed for mobile. (Fennec, if it matters.)

Seems weirdly unintuitive that we can't already. Its also weird that swiping from the left while in your profile profile doesn't pull out the sidebar.

I don't see an option for creating new communities anywhere in the app. What am I missing?

When I try to add image it's saying network error. I'm using latest ver of jebora. Any thoughts?

The app on android was fine for a while, but the past few days it keeps logging me out and then my account is no longer saved. If I enter my account info it appear to have me logged in for a refresh or two, but then I can't get to my profile and then I show up as Anonymous again.

Should I remove and reinstall?

I'm pretty frequently having a different post open than the one I click on in my feed. Usually opening a post that's not even on my screen or within a few posts in either direction; it seems to pick one at random.

Does Jerboa's search function only work for communities or am I don't something wrong?

On the web, as well as other apps, a search brings up the choice between communities, users, comments and posts.

Haven't been able to make that work on Jerboa.

I prefer when I load the comments of a post, all start out collapsed. Would be a great feature

Been trying to find a way to do this but it doesn't seem to be a feature yet.
