This is a Dengist community in favor of Bashar al-Assad with no information that can lead to the arrest of Hillary Clinton, our fellow liberal and queen. This community is not ironic. We are Marxists-Leninists.

Took my monthly foray into Reddit and made a post of r/capitalismvsocialism asking people what they thought would happen to capitalism when climate change wreaks it havoc across the planet. I learned three things about liberals.

  1. They either think climate change is not happening or is not a serious threat.

  2. They think Communists pollute more because China, a developing nation with over 1.4 billion people, currently has a higher raw annual CO2 output, which incidentally isn't true.

  3. They think capitalist green energy is on pace and everything's gonna be fine guys don't worry we still have PLENTY of time.

But someone did argue that "zero carbon means zero carbon for everyone," therefore the global south can't burn fossil fuels if climate change is to be combated effectively. Is this really true? Is there no way for these countries to develop without causing climate change?

Syria is back in the Arab League. During a special meeting held in Cairo on May 7, foreign ministers from 13 Arab League member states agreed to reinstate Syria's membership after a suspension of over ten years. This means that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad will be able to sit with his counterparts at the upcoming Arab League summit after a decade-long absence. So far, reactions to the development have been mixed. While the UN expressed hopes that the return will help end the war in Syria, some regional countries are not yet on board with the about-turn. The reactions from major countries are also starkly different. What does getting back to the Arab League mean to both sides? Is this a part of a bigger trend of detente? What does it mean for the world at large?

On May 7, the Chinese Embassy in Serbia held a mourning ceremony in front of the former Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia to mourn the deaths of Shao Yunhuan, Xu Xinghu and Zhu Ying, who were killed in a bombing by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in 1999. Serbian Sports Minister Jaeic, representatives of the Belgrade Municipal Government, local Chinese business representatives, Serbian media and overseas Chinese attended the ceremony. 24 years ago, the U.S.-led NATO bombed the Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia, resulting in the death of three Chinese journalists, the injury of over 20 diplomatic personnel and serious damage to the embassy.

China released an investigative report revealing an "empire of hackers" of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) on May 4, one of the major intelligence agencies of the country's federal government. The report disclosed important details of the weapons the CIA used for cyberattacks and specific cybersecurity cases taking place in China and other countries.

"The report released by China shows that all the cyberattacks carried out by the U.S. are not only against China, but also against its allies and other countries. Perhaps what's different is that cyberattacks are more dangerous and more invisible compared to other methods, and they are dangerous not only to China, but also to other countries around the world," said Maria Elena Alvarez, professor at the Cuban Institute of International Relations during an interview with China Media Group. Emmanuel Mwamba, Zambia's former permanent representative to African Union, also stated that this U.S. actions threaten global security and the stability of the global community.

Since entering office last year, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has expanded costly and provocative U.S.-ROK military exercises. The country's exports have also shown red lights, which have fallen for the seventh straight month, being the longest downward trend in three years. How will President Yoon with an "America First" agenda on both the diplomatic and economic fronts, endanger the Korean Peninsula and South Korea?

On April 29, Republic of Korea President Yoon Seok-yeol concluded his visit to the U.S., where the U.S. and South Korea agreed on the Washington Declaration, causing great concern among the academic community. Maria Elena Alvarez, a professor at Cuban Institute of International Relations said in an interview with CMG that the U.S.-ROK approach aims to increase its presence and status in the region, which will lead to increased tensions on the peninsula and plunge regional peace into greater instability.

The WHO's announcement declaring an end to the emergency phase of COVID-19 has attracted global attention, but some have misinterpreted it as the end of the pandemic. Margaret Harris, a WHO spokesperson, reminds us that we cannot let our guard down and must continue to take measures to control the virus. The Chinese National Health Commission also stated on May 8 that the threat of the virus still exists and measures will continue to be implemented, with some areas in the country seeing a slight increase in cases during the May Day holiday.

Not sure if this has been posted on lemmy yet but I was so excited to see Roland on Ben Norton's podcast yesterday. His work has been instrumental to how I see the PRC. If you can get ahold of his book I would highly recommend.

This is the writing of a “Marxist” anti-vaxxer. They obviously (and somewhat reasonably) don’t listen to mainstream media, so it’s more difficult.
