character is edelgard from fire emblem three houses. her crime is that she started a war to abolish the nobility and get rid of the divine right of kings and she's going to fight the pope because the church upholds feudalism with its private armies. and she's gay. so obviously all sorts of dipshits hate her with a burning passion

she is perhaps not quite anime stalin or mao, but she's someone who goes "the status quo sucks shit, the only way to change it is through violence" in a big budget game AND it's in a way that isn't horribly reactionary, which is very refreshing. and she's certainly not a fascist

it helps that her biggest competition is saying shit like "Radical new freedoms are not what Faerghus needs right now"

I had this downloaded on the Dreamcast back in the day. Shout out to Christmas Nights too for being a whole Sega game based around the holiday.

The Marvel-style quips wouldn't be too bad if the voice actor didn't sound just like a normal dude. I mean, they're talking flowers! They should have cartoony voices! All other Mario characters have such unique and wacky voices, why do these flowers sound like they're from a Disney Channel movie?

Again, I'm just nitpicking for fun, I think the game is adorable and I'm having a lot of fun. Good game, highly recommended.

Also, Mario and Luigis new voice actor sounds great! His Wario voice isn't stanky enough IMO but eh, he might improve with time.

NGL this game is turning out better than I expected it would be (Not usually a fan of 2D Mario games) but when i got to this level I was won over lmao. Yes I'm a sucker.

I fucking hate the talking flowers that make Marvel movie quips though.

I actually just finished the 2018 game and am of the mind that his character didnt really change THAT much, maybe towards the end arguably.
