It's a JP channel that uploads hq captures of retro arcade games mostly from mame but also dips it's toes into console and pc games too. It's great, there's longplays for just about every retro arcade game from Japan.

However, as reported in Vietnam.net, it's possible Steam has been taken down in Vietnam after local game developers complained about the scope and size of Steam's vast portfolio of games, claiming Vietnamese devs cannot compete with Steam's releases given they are subject to government approval and thousands of international games on Steam are not.

Citing it as "an injustice to domestic publishers", Vietnamese studios reportedly say that local game development "will die" if Steam is able to keep releasing games without the same government scrutiny as domestic games.

Based Vietnam protecting its domestic games industry from American capitalists. :)

TLDR: the online game monopolies of Vietnam complains that they can't extort the market share our Lord and Savior Gabe Newell rightfully earned," said one unhappy Steam user.

Steam users are so fucking insufferable. They hate all capitalist game companies except this one which they will eagerly lick the boot of.

"May" is doing some heavy lifting I know. But it was a good reddit title that I stole.

An engineering game, as I'd define it, is a game where a primary gameplay element is designing machines for some purpose, weighing conflicting needs such as cost, versatility, and performance. I've only played a handful of these games, and I really wish I could find more. Here are some of the ones I've enjoyed:

Kerbal Space Program: I'd call this a definitive example of an engineering game, and one I have hundreds of hours in. I absolutely love designing rockets, figuring out what I'll need for each mission, experimenting with different staging mechanisms to maximize fuel efficiency, pushing my available tools to the absolute limit to land on far-off celestial bodies, etc.

Automation: The Car Company Tycoon Game: Yes, I know, fuck cars, but I'm having fun with this one. There are a lot of different niches you can cater to, and I enjoy specializing in affordable, reliable, fuel-efficient sedans and compact cars against the trend of turning everything into a gas-guzzling behemoth.

Master of Orion: Yes, a DOS game from 1994, and primarily a 4x, but its ship designer has some of the best balance between simplicity and depth I've ever seen. Ships have a limited hull capacity, but no fixed number of weapon hardpoints, and they can only fit a handful of special modules, but there are dozens to choose from, with widely varying capabilities. The number of actual choices to make is small, but they involve balancing so many things - durability, damage reduction, damage output, armor penetration, weapon range, maneuverability - and the turn-based combat gives enough control to let you really appreciate the impact your designs have.

Avorion: A space flight sim with highly customizable ships built out of blocks, with fine-grained control over things like engine power, maneuver thrusters, and armor thickness, and cargo bay sizes. I wanted to like this one, but it's way too grindy for me (building up your reputation with factions takes forever, and they won't let you buy better ship equipment until you do).

Robocraft: A game where you design a robot and then pit it against other players' creations in online team battles. My best creations were a spider bot that could scuttle up and over hills and ambush enemies with a massive plasma burst, and an air defense bot with bigass twin AAGs and a shitload of top armor. I had a lot of fun with this one back in the day, but nowadays it's so deserted that most of the players are bots.

It's funny to me how even in this game (Red Alert 1) where they portray the Soviets as back-stabbing, baby-gassing monsters using everything in le old Black Book and then some, they still can't get me to root for the Allies as anything other than a marginally lesser evil. Guess this line supports that.

“Oh no, big bad Georgian mustache man is going to oppress the poor underdog Europeans? How horrible! Say, what’s going on in the rest of the world in 1950

I'm not a huge N64 person but this seems really cool. I hope this approach starts to get explored with other tricky-to-emulate systems in the future.

I imagine just feeding an Xbox 360 game dump to a program and it spitting out a PC port

reisen-dance It's like if Touhou had a baby with FF14 raid mechanics. Everything is adorable. It'll make you hate your friends for coming near you when they were supposed to stay away, and it'll make you hate them 5 seconds later for running away from you when they were supposed to stack. I highly recommend it. It might even be a fun game to try to get some people from here to play together, since it's pretty low time investment, intuitive, and doesn't necessarily require voice chat. (It's better with voice chat, funnier without it)

The shopkeepers "Fuck vault dwellers" speech has my hopes up that this show won't be lib trash, but I dislike that the main girl is really Libby about Vault-Tec "Um actually you're technically stealing Vault-Tec property which is wrong" also lol at her still having perfect eyeliner after being in the wasteland for days.

And not liking how one of the "good guys" is a Brotherhood of Steel type, I really hope they don't make the Brotherhood a "good" faction because they kinda aren't.

I'm assuming it's a character arc thing and things become less lib later, here's hoping. Because this show is freaking awesome in every other aspect. They really nailed the tone and setting. The sets and props are so cool as well.

I'm assuming The Ghoul isn't as mean as he first appears because he didn't hurt that chicken, and he fixed up the dog.

sigh I miss @UlyssesT@hexbear.net, he would have had so much to say about this show.
